    I leveled up to my cdl my 2500 non cdl set up paid for a new 3500 dually then I went and took the cdl test in my 3500 dually. I have cdl with restrictions on no fifth wheel, no air brakes automatic only. Progressive said next year my premium will drop assuming no issues between now and then. I'm alot more conscious on what loads i take and really pay attention to my cpm cost per mile. Oddly, I do better with short hauls then the longer runs I was doing which get me home more.

    Good to know. I'm a cdl driver and I'm in the process of getting my mc# and ifta set up. I'm just starting and need all the information I can get . Thank you sir😊

    what insurance company did you find?

    Don't let that 2 year mark rumor fool you. I hit my 2 year renewal a few months back and my premium went up almost 2 thousand a year (progressive) with no claims or accidents and I'm CDL. Yes I shopped around but they still came in at the lowest! I hope they do drop non-cdl coverage I feel like that's where the insurance hike is mainly coming from. (Too many claims)

      I think it’s just all insurance companies making premiums high right now smh. Shit fukd up all around man.

      @@JBTRUCKN I spoke to the progressive agent directly on the phone about why it went up so much she straight up told me it was because of the increase in the number of claims. Basically too many unskilled mf's hoping on the road overnight without a clue causing accidents.

      @@David-td5po same thing my insurance broker told me too. But progressive is okay but not the best. I would’ve been at like 15k for the yr if progressive would’ve renewed my policy.

    Have you gone over tax deductions for hotshot drivers in any of your videos?

  • @andrewlukacs3393

    Yeah I was trying to start my own hotshot completely legit non-cdl but once it came to the insurance only progressive would insure me an they required 11k down an like 5500 a month smfh I don’t understand how anybody just trying to start off can afford that

      That’s crazy as hell. They done shot up with these crazy prices. Insurance companies tend to be the biggest scammers lol. You can have no accidents and clean record and they still try to tax people.

    Solid content bro. I’m very interested in getting into the hotshot industry, but really trying to do my homework & seeing if it’ll work for me! I already make pretty decent money in what I do now, just tired 🥱 of working that same old 9-5 for someone else’s pockets! You know
    Keep up the videos man🤙🏼very helpful buddy, Thank you

      I can’t say to get in or not. Only you can decide that. But I’ll tell you this, it’s not easy and it’s a lot of work involved and can cause some headaches. Working for a company may be a thought you can do as well. But being an owner operator has a lot of ups and downs. The rates are up and down as well. So I hope this gave you some insight.
      God will lead you to the best decision. 🫡🤝🏽

      What’s good brother. I’m located in southeastern Wisconsin and came across one of your video and instantly became a subscriber. I just bought a 40’ non-cdl PJ and have questions. Need to book a consultation.

      Continue to do research on how much it’ll run you. And see if it make sense to you. Don’t put yourself in a situation when times get tough and mainly counting on trucking. Have a backup plan.

    No damn bro. So you never weight your truck after you get loaded?

    • @JBTRUCKN
      @JBTRUCKN  8 месяцев назад +2

      That time I didn’t. But every since then I make sure I’m not overloaded. When I take light loads I know I’m good but when I’m taking something that’s close to my weight limit I for sure weigh myself just to be safe.

    What hindered the business is you making video about how much money we make or use to make as you see nobody posting hotshot videos anymore it’s fckkking up the business move in silence

    • @JBTRUCKN
      @JBTRUCKN  8 месяцев назад +3

      How much I make doesn’t impact how rates are bro. It’s been like this up and down way before I even started my business lol. The whole world f up and taking hits with pay. Even your 9-5 job are complaining about pay.
