Massive technical error during editing made the visuals on this episode a little uneasy on the eye, my apologies. I love you.

I was trying to do some interesting edit on this episode however my software had a massive freakout and I had to decide between deleting and starting fresh or upload what you see before you. Next video will be easier on the eyes but I still hope you enjoy and get some value from this. Much love.
Great video and advice, man. I'm new to performing standup comedy and have realized I almost never use observational comedy! It's a lot of laughs I'm missing out on it seems. I noticed that other comedians get huge laughs from making small observations and remarks about the venue, people in the audience, or previous comedians on stage. I get the audience mildly amused tops with my jokes about "how weird I am", weird jokes that not that many people seem to identify with.
Thanks for commenting. Indeed, it's tricky at the start and there will be times when your material isn't connecting the way you expected it to. But that's just what comes with being new to it. Stick at it and keep changing small pieces of material. When your writing your next comedy bit try to imagine your previous audience and ask yourself if they'd be onboard with the joke your working on. We do need to make sure that what we're talking about entertains the majority of people in the audience. It's perfectly fine not to succeed at this as long as it is our goal to address and fix the issue. Patience, consistency and creativity. You'll get there.
Great segment. I don't usually make observations right before I perform but I probably should. I struggle with how much you make fun of somebody or something and also have might fit with the rest of your set.
Thanks for commenting. It's important to remember in this video I'm not talking about opening up conversations with the crowd, instead, just pointing out something very brief about the room. It's just a quick observation during your intro to get a quick laugh. Then you can go directly into your prepared material. Personally I rather do this than talk to the audience, I'm not the quickest wit and find it much easier to make fun of the surrounding rather than the audience.
First
Amazing.
Love this channel!
Really appreciate that John. Makes all the difference knowing the videos are connecting with people. Thanks for commenting.
I love your videos, they are super helpful.
Are you on Instagram? I want to stay up to date with everything you are sharing
Thanks for commenting. The only comedy chat I have is on RUclips. I do have a page on Facebook and Instagram that I look at about once every 2 months. Haha, I'm really not much of a social media person. But l'll have more videos on here very soon.

Thank you so much for these videos. As someone who is new to stand up, your content has been some of the most educational, practical, useful, and concise that I’ve seen online and by most people. I really appreciate your straightforward and actionable advice. I’d love to see your name stated, or a title or a lower-third as people deserve to know who you are. Thank you for the content. Appreciate you and your work.
Thanks for commenting. I really appreciate that. I used to put my name in graphics at the beginning of videos but the more I made the more I just wanted to get to the point. It also saves loads of time on the edit not worrying about such things
@@LetsTalkComedy totally get you. I actually appreciate you getting right into it. A lot of videos are real fluffy from other users. You deserve a lot more credit.
@@nidalbukhari I appreciate that. I watch a ton of RUclips myself, If I see a creator consistently doing a RUclips thing I dislike I try to stay away from it myself. I've been away from creating for a while but I'm going to put the focus back on the channel from Monday, Loads of videos coming.
@@LetsTalkComedy Awesome! Excited to see more. Do you perform ever in Los Angeles?
