You kind of have to know Seinfeld's personality to get his jokes, (he bitches about the most mundane things, but if you get it, you'll say to yourself "shit, he's right!) otherwise it's not funny. It's reassuring that his humor, persona and voice are the same, even if his hair recession (and short hair) makes him look older.

+and then i said Why? It's standard for standups to do their funniest five minutes whenever they're on a late night talk show. Pretty sure that's what the title is alluding to.
Lynn Turman Seinfeld and some of his openers, including Louis Ck have told stories of how Seinfeld doesn't like to be upsold by whoever announces him. He says it puts the audience in "judgement" mode. In this case "oh really?... so this is the best he can do...? " (which is what you can read in most of the comments on this video.)
+and then i said Someone's just pulling an in-joke because talk show Casting Directors always book comedians by asking them to do their best tight five :P Prooobably not appropriate for a video being shown to the general public, but amusing nonetheless
Somehow I was waiting my whole life for a joke on donut holes, but I didn’t know it until today. His show is taking off with the roar of an Apollo rocket.
I love Jerrys stand up it is so unique most comedians now go shock but jerry can talk about donut holes and the way he gives you the lines is what makes it so good
You have to also consider we live in a time when most people hear something and they arent even really processing the information. They are scanning it and trying to read between the lines to find a hidden meaning or something slightly offensive to scream about. There is actually a large number of comedians who wont waste their time on college campuses anymore because of this.
Like a true legend. Seinfeld is a comedic master, one of the greatest ever. He keeps you going, his slow bits are on a comedic drag strip to the average comedian.
Microphone wasn't plugged in and was essentially a prop. He moved it further from his mouth without any diminishing of the sound quality. You can see the real mic on his lapel. That really bugged me for some reason.
Jerry’s so respected and ‘funny’ today because of the legacy he’s built, and everything that he’s done in the past in the world of comedy. Though I don’t believe that if a new comedian or anyone else in particular did these kinds of bit that anyone would laugh. People find it funny because this is a Jerry Seinfeld bit.
Seinfeld is actually my favorite show. I remember discovering on channel 13 after WWE smackdown. I used to think it was just stand up comedy cus of the begging of every episode he would be there in front of the mic and red drapes behind him. After months of turning off the tv as soon as smackdown was over. One day I just decided to leave it and I feel in love. It was stupid but hilarious. So thank you mr. jerry for the laughs
I never thought of Seinfeld as "super star" funny in his stand up comedy but I think he is absolutely a comedic genius.. He rocks because he's Seinfeld. Recognized by hundreds of millions around the world, he truly is an icon and a legend. The Seinfeld show was pure brilliance. ...a show about nothing.. 💛 Like a song that endures across generations Seinfeld has earned his place in history as one of the classics.

@@ericforman4721 I think he was being complimentary, that some of his stuff is almost literature.
Absolute Legend. No dirty jokes. just plain comedy
He's almost satirical of himself. Only comic that never made me laugh that I respect.
Couldnt have said it better myself.
If hes the only comic to make u laugh ur depressed asf
Perfectly worded
@@youtuberusernumber0013 You might want reread what he said.
huh
"Alright"
"HAHAHAHEWEHAEHAEHAEEHEAHEAHHE"
hahah "his best tight five"... I bet Seinfeld wants to punch somebody over that title.
+and then i said he goes on for at least six minutes anyhow
+and then i said Why? It's standard for standups to do their funniest five minutes whenever they're on a late night talk show. Pretty sure that's what the title is alluding to.
Lynn Turman Seinfeld and some of his openers, including Louis Ck have told stories of how Seinfeld doesn't like to be upsold by whoever announces him. He says it puts the audience in "judgement" mode. In this case "oh really?... so this is the best he can do...? " (which is what you can read in most of the comments on this video.)
+and then i said
Someone's just pulling an in-joke because talk show Casting Directors always book comedians by asking them to do their best tight five :P
Prooobably not appropriate for a video being shown to the general public, but amusing nonetheless
+and then i said - Nobody likes being upsold.
Somehow I was waiting my whole life for a joke on donut holes, but I didn’t know it until today. His show is taking off with the roar of an Apollo rocket.
The buffet bite is still great
I think older Jerry is funnier than young Jerry. His timing and delivery , so good.
Fusilli Jerry was even funnier.
That doughnut hole bit gets me every time
I love Jerrys stand up it is so unique most comedians now go shock but jerry can talk about donut holes and the way he gives you the lines is what makes it so good
i like his subject materials ,, he never gets into politics , only normal day life situations
Love that from jerry
_Jerry is the best comedian in the world. He gave the best sitcom ever which inspired many and guess what he's neat and makes people laugh_
Jerry Seinfeld is my favorite I would love to see more of him in 2023 never aged always and forever funny one of the best ❤️💯
He sounds exactly the same as he did thirty years ago.
And he is too edgy for some colleges?
choncy barbosa for bland material it’s very good material
choncy barbosa That’s how it is in PC America
He's not actually, he's just too expensive. Same with Chris Rock.
I'm pretty sure half the time millennials are just "guessing" at what's offensive and looking around to see if others agree
You have to also consider we live in a time when most people hear something and they arent even really processing the information. They are scanning it and trying to read between the lines to find a hidden meaning or something slightly offensive to scream about. There is actually a large number of comedians who wont waste their time on college campuses anymore because of this.
It's GREAT to see Jerry do new material! I hope he builds a fresh special soon!
I wouldn't say this was his *best* five, but the buffet bit was good, worth hanging in for.
I agree. Someone was reaching for the moon saying it’s his best.
alright already about the doughnut holes
Like a true legend.
Seinfeld is a comedic master, one of the greatest ever.
He keeps you going, his slow bits are on a comedic drag strip to the average comedian.
He should have ended the doughnut hole bit with "And then you'd have a WHOLE DONUT "
+J Vaughn You > Seinfeld.
+CommunistScum LOL fuck me
sorry to let you down.
J Vaughn
You're a monster.
Colbert would've
That's with the kind of ease and confidence you deliver jokes after jokes have made you a filthy rich man with lots of class.
I read like 4 different sentences in that.
When I see this guy doing stand up i crap my self laughing 😂 I know he's no longer the 90s Jerry but still hilarious he's a true legend.
Wow. This is absolutely fantastic writing. Love Jerry.
What the fuck? What one single thing was amusing about this?
@@matthewferguson8423 I said the writing is good. Why are you talking about amusement?
@@shangee2275 good comedy writing is supposed to be funny. This is not.
@@matthewferguson8423 I'll talk to you about funny when you acknowledge the material is well-written.
Absolutely brilliant. The only comedian I have paid to see live, multiple times ( we won't mention the pudding guy )
He looks the same at 62 as he did at 61.
these fake laughs are one of the things that are causing global warming.
Omg literally lol'ed at that 😂
Loool
That was hilarious. I was so surprised when I burst out in laughter. Thank you. I needed that.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha!
Jerry Seinfeld is the comedy phenomenon. Your work is amazing.
Yes, my work is amazing.
Jesus, that buffet bit had me dying especially the way it followed the whole donut hole bit 😅
It's about time they put a stand up on Colbert's show. Please do this more often.
+Jacob Russell when did they put a stand up on colbert?
Never from what I know.. at least not doing a set (some have been on just doing panel). I hope to see more.
+SolSmoke lol
Microphone wasn't plugged in and was essentially a prop. He moved it further from his mouth without any diminishing of the sound quality. You can see the real mic on his lapel. That really bugged me for some reason.
Jerry’s so respected and ‘funny’ today because of the legacy he’s built, and everything that he’s done in the past in the world of comedy. Though I don’t believe that if a new comedian or anyone else in particular did these kinds of bit that anyone would laugh. People find it funny because this is a Jerry Seinfeld bit.
Because he performs it well.
That could be said about a lot of comedians. Look at Norm McDonald, Bill Burr, etc. The material isn't everything.
My favorite comedian. So sharp and polished.
The buffet bit was gold, Jerry.....GOLD!
Who did this guy voice in an animation? Was it the bee from Bee Movie?
+spartanB0292 yes it was
+spartanB0292 yes
That what Jerry Seinfeld is known for...the voice of the bee in the bee movie
+Diego Andres you know your getting old if that is what hes known for now.
Kaezer Musik lmao I'm just kidding
Seinfeld really is the Seinfeld of standup comedy.
I can't stop laughing. Awesome loved it.
TV dinner bit was funny. Alcatraz Chicken 😂. At the end of one I GOTTA MAKE SOMETHING OF MY LIFE!
his tone hasn't changed in 20 years and it's great.
I love that it’s called a “tight five” when it’s over 6 minutes of actual material.
This is amazing no matter how many times I see it. "Words. Have. Meanings"
His attitude in his jokes is what makes his bit so funny.
Nah man, “Jerry” was about nothing, Seinfeld was about how comedians get their bits
People didn't find this funny? I was laughing my ass off at some parts. Nobody laughed at him comparing a buffet meal to a deathrow last meal wishlist? I thought the buffet segment was freaking hilarious. I'm not american so I don't know those tv dinners but it was still pretty funny to me. The first part wasn't as strong but still very funny when he started saying "words have meanings"
bananatree1234567 TV dinners are pre cooked meals that you heat up and eat.
Jerry is the "stand up comic". Long after he's gone his legacy will live on. Simple yet brilliant.
I laughed multiple times. Jerry is great
Good clean humor.
What a joke craftsman, that transition to the donut hole joke was awesome. Very Seinfeld set as always
Wasn't the joke about seeing yourself on TV already done by Jim Gaffigan?
That's why they're called Timbits up here.
Modest Mouseketeer absolutely!
Uh..he...he stole that weight loss joke basically, its REALLY similar to an old Jim Gaffigan bit. The god damn hell Jerry?
All I see is berry b Benson making me dye of laughter 🤣🤣
I only counted 4
The fat joke
The donut holes
The buffet
The Swanson
Did i miss something? What is the fifth?
Far and away the funniest Seinfeld stand up I’ve ever seen…I laughed through the whole thing
Im already dead. "Somebody's gotta lose some weight. I can't move."
Seinfeld still has some credibility in the 2020s as he now refuses to do College campuses and political events as he has stated, "they're too sensitive to reality". Good job Jerry.
It worked so well. It built and built. Then the Swanson's bit at the end slowed it down a bit too much, but he ended well. A damn genius, this dude.
Larry David sure did a lot of heavy lifting.
Didn't The Simpsons mock this kind of humour, about 15 years ago, when Krusty was doing TV dinner\peach cobbler jokes ?
"TV dinner jokes ? ... oooh, watch out Swanson's".
From the Last Temptation of Krust.
Yup. And the comedian who said that was the one engaged to Jerry in Susan's last episode.
@@dinobotpwnz Ah yes that's right, that's pretty interesting. Janine Garafolo yeah ?

What, humor?

You’re right Jimi he totally killed it.
Take no notice of the haters.
This is pretty funny. I've never really watched any of his standup but I got a couple chuckles/
Lmao I also popped big at the when he screamed "Donut holes don't exist! Words have meaning!"
Can I sue Jerry for laughing so hard thought my head would burst TV dinner 🙃
His donut hole bit is a thing of pure genius, man.
He’s brilliant to figure out a show like this you got to be brilliant
"Well you really went bald there, you used to have a full thick set of hair"
I grew up watching Seinfeld on a little tv at our dinner table... I was lucky to hear this man for years of my life. Seinfeld will forever have a special place in my heart.
That's soooooo nice. Does Jerry have net 30 or net 75 payment terms?
Saw Jerry at Caesars Palace in Vegas recently - early August 2024 - and he was terrific, really, better than ever.
