VIDEO: Bama Performance sets the WORLD RECORD for the fastest NA 2015 Mustang GT!
so cool
Transmission blow off that fucker
Love the body
That's a 50th Anniversary Mustang! They only made 1964 of them. WHY MESS WITH THIS CAR ?!
I know right it such a nice car
Nice job! I was the guy in the GTR. I did not realize you were going for the record. Congrats.
Your car is sick bro
Alex Cuevas Thanks man.
That was a lot of fun to watch! Looking forward to seeing the beefed up halfshaft in action!
Good stuff! We can't wait to show you what else this car can do. More coming soon! Stay tuned.. -Dan
Looking fwd to it!
Awesome videos I love this channel, as soon as I saw the first launch of this 5.0 I was like waaaow she's hookn nicely
alrightythan1 The car hooked up great! We're really excited to head back down to the track. The Bama Performance team isn't even close to done with this beast! Stay tuned.. -Dan
Congrats for this apppreciable job guys at Bama Performance, 11,2 sec @ 121 mph in the 1/4 mile with a 3650 lbs ready to race 2015 mustang gt are excelent results !!!
Jean P Skiadas Thank you! The Bama guys are constantly hard at work unleashing these beasts! This exact car has made a 9 second pass! Be sure to check out that video. - Will
Did you guys set the record for fastest time to break a new Mustang? Lol
your videos keep getting better and better. keep it up. i wish you guys did GM cars too but i dont blame you for sticking with what you know best. But as a GTO owner, i think what you guys do for the mustang guys is awesome. might have to get me a 2015 Gt one of these days
muscletruckdude That's an awesome compliment! Thank you so much. Respect on the GTO and still liking the Mustang. We really do appreciate you watching and if you ever find yourself driving a Mustang, hit me up and I'll take good care of you when you're ready to mod it up! -Chris
AmericanMuscle.com
i drove an '01 2 valve GT for a few years before the goat and you guys treated me good with that thing, i appreciate it. And i'll definitely keep watching.
*****
its nicer than whatever you drive im sure. and please dont tell me its the mustang in your picture.
That is quick nice job and sounds great.
It's great to finally see someone shifting a manual the way it should be done....loud pedal to the floor and don't let up until the end. Great speed shifts!
Its funny because this is the same driver we've used for the past year (give or take) and as you can see he is no slouch behind the wheel. And yet STILL there are some keyboard racers that call out 'you guys need a driver mod, blah blah...'. Flat out, dude can drive and has been behind the wheel of more fast mustangs than just about anyone I know. -Justin
I could listen to that car all day!
That's a sick trap speed!
Beautiful color
Nice passes, can't wait for the next run. Don't forget to upload the Vid.
For you guys bitching about the irs breaking.. it's on slicks, doing clutch drops and probably cutting sub 1.5 60ft times. NO stock rear end is going to hold up to that. Even a stock 8.8 will twist the tubes or snap axles doing this.
Amen! A 6k side-step on slicks and a GOOD track will test even the most robust rear ends/half-shafts. Looking forward to what you guys do with that twin-screwed beast! -Justin
Thanks Justin! We're anxious to get out there and see what she'll run. Frank 2nd day air mailed us a set of the DSS axles. How much of a pain is it to change them out? I assume just unbolt the suspension/rear spindle and they pop right out?
For these shenanigans you guys should of went with a base GT not a premium with the 50th appearance pack.. don't ya think?
I remember my new broken mustang back in 82 some things never change!
Love the drag racing videos from you guys, thats why i bought my 11 GT Could you put in the description, manual trans, gear ratio, size of wheels and tires front and back and the weight reduction items? I was really impressed with the ET and MPH how much timing were you running 28 degrees? do you think it will be quicker/faster than previous models?
very impressive!
I am IMPRESSED !! #cannotwaitformore
I like this guy doing videos, he seems confident talking, and solid on the info.. just gotta work on the hand gestures at the end :P but loving the more daily videos!
that independent rear is killing it. but he killed it.:)
Where you guys using the factory launch control for these runs!? Nice car love the videos keep them coming!!
Amazing the stock clutch took it so well. Seems the 2-3 shift with the stock setup isn't like the 13-14 cars making it difficult to get 3rd at full throttle redline shifts. Good news!!
now you hold the record for breaking a mustang in the fastest amount of time. way to go!
Eric F That's what it's all about. Have to pay to play! We wanted to push the factory suspension/drivetrain parts to the limit so that you guys don't have to. We had full intentions of breaking the factory half-shafts before we even got to the track! Just needed to figure out the limit. -Dan
Wow, very nice job Bama Performance, creating the fastest NA, naturally aspirated Ford Mustang GT in the World. That's quick for not having very many mods. And I was all worried about the weight, I would need seats though lol. But nice work. Devil's Reject Racing.
Put the stock wheels back on and take it in under warranty. Lol
haha I can see Justin or this guy pulling into a dealer.. " Yeah I was just driving down the street and the car shut off on me and wouldn't move. I don't know what happened" Service Adviser be like "So you really have no idea why you're half shaft broke... I guess the melted rubber all over the back wheel well has nothing to do with it" lol
Exactly
Awesome like alway!!! Would love love love to see your boosted 3v vs, full bolt 2015 5.0 vs full bolt terminator all on the sam DAY!!! PLEASEEEE
Terminator and 2015 probably arent just full bolt on anymore lol
what kind of bracket did you guys use to mount the Kirkey Racing seat in the car????
Good video! Not sure why a car with great Hp potential would be weak in drivetrain... ( I have seen a few GT's go like this!?) Always an issue with cars like this?! They know you buy them to modify!? Lol common!? Car sounds and looks great! Good job guys! Can't wait to see next video of YALL at the track! ( I also would like it to be a bit more realistic, with real seats and keep it to a daily driver, only bad observ) great vid!
What would you say are the overall power and torque gains from stock with the current modifications?
MIR! I love this track. Going to be there this weekend for Import V. Domestic.
It launches pretty hard
wish you did a video on the driver staging at the start what rpm he's at on launch, on 2nd to 3rd yes going to track this summer with my stock S550 thanks if i do more mods besides intake and exhaust definitely changing half shafts also learned why ford stayed with the solid axle for so long too no broken half shafts
love to see the next run with some 4:30 gears!
I'll bet it's the clutch disc.. there's some funky plastic hub in there on the splines. We're heading to the track with our blower car this week. Hoping the twin disc holds up.
That must of been awkward...oops we broke it. I'm surprised you didn't break the back end god that was bouncy. Awesome none the less!
Couldn't believe the movement of the rear on the launches, saw a video from motortrend and the driver mentioned, as he was going around the track, that even though the Mustang had the performance pack the suspension seemed to soft.
I would like to build an NA 15 GT, but other than a CAI, LT headers, X mid, full catback and a tune; I don't know what else todo; the engine is sold, is there any way you can up the compression without adding a blower?
alex moore NA would be awesome! I would do a set of Cams as well. That would be really cool! You'd have yourself a 10-second naturally aspirated monster! -Dan
When Ford did the Independent rear end for the Cobra a few years back they left the mounting points the same as the live axle. If they were thinking, they did the same thing this time with the 2015 allowing the drag race crowd to swap in a solid rear axle like nothing.
I like the AM when the load a shit on their cars. thats what we need to fix the weakness of the car. there is no car is Perfect. "fact" the new mustang has some weakness but it is not end of the world.. keep us updated AM. Cheers from overseas mustang Fan
that colour is pretty
I love how this was done at Budd's Creek, just half an hour away from where I live.
Aced985 MIR is the best track in the area by far! We love heading down there. You're lucky to be so close! -Dan
Yeah! I raced my S550 there a few times during my one time visit with a buddy! Planning on coming back there again as I make progress with my performance mods! Maybe I'll see some of you guys at some point!
@@americanmuscle what tires/ part number is the Hoosier on the back of the car. ??
I agree ,watching the rear end of this car bounce up and down like that was painful to watch. The rear end of this car was not ready for this kind of action . Not at all surprised something broke..
Only place to do it baby MIR my home track baby!
Whats the size of the rear tyres? And 17x10 or 9.5
What kind of tire set up you guys are running?
very nice to see drivers who can actually drive. what did you guys get it to run completely stock, stock weight and stock tires...just like she came from Ford? I'm actually debating on the GT, SS and Scat Pack Shaker...but I really think it's down to the SS and GT. I like the older looks better, 98-02 fbodys, 96-98 cobras, 03-05 terminators...but they're getting too old now.
Why do you decide to go on stock bushings? Everybody says the aftermarket poly of delrin bushings will get you a better 60 foot time. Or is ist all just marketing?
how wide are the wheels and tires on the back?
CRAZY
What exhaust, sounded mean as hell, def wouldn't mind doing that to my 15
Zay Gutierrez Custom long tube headers, O/R x-pipe and bullet style race mufflers! It sounds even better in person. -Dan
I'm gonna say it's the transmission. I've had to replace mine and went tremec. Launching hard breaks things.
Good job guys, not bad for a N/A new mustang..
What is the custom suspension parts? Ate these pays going to be sold to the public once they're in production?
nathan600r The Bama team was forced to make custom suspension parts because the car was so new and there was no parts available. So they build some control arms and springs to fit the 2015! There should be stuff like this available very soon. Hope this helps! -Dan
what is the size of the rear wheels
Looks like there will be quite a few swaps to a solid rear axle if you want this thing to perform
Boy that makes me want one. 3 passes and it breaks. JUNK!
Do you think Ford will discount FRPP half shafts with a purchase of a Mustang? Looking forward to seeing the GT350 next week. Hope you guys get one to mod! I know I will!
Yup im trying to acquire a 2015 now. Just love the body style and looks is awesome. Bama i seen ford has a set of racing parts already available. How good are they? 500 is cheaper than 1600 for the big dogs. I want to turbo mine asap once i get it. 600rwhp and drive the dog shitnout of it. Hope the m82 can handle the power and gear banging.
My 06 GT won’t move in any gear..clutch pedal firm...happened when I shifted into 3rd from dig..no gears work and car won’t move just revs. No engagement. No fluid on floor..no gears grinding...what could it be
If you guys could get back me wit I'd really appreciate it...what type of mullfers r you's runing on there..thanks btw I like the turndowns looks great..
tommy marks They're just a bullet style muffler with turndowns. Pretty awesome set up! We also have custom long tube headers and X-pipe on the car. Hope this helps! -Dan
@@americanmuscle what is the rear tire part number on the car ??
was... newer video?? yet
Forgot to say thsts one badass bolt on 5.0ltr.
budd's creek? I live RIGHT THERE!!!
I really don't know much about drag racing .. can anyone tell me why the rear end seemed to be bouncing like that after each shift? How can that be fixed aftermarket wise?
That was caused by the Hoosier and a sticky track with pretty much stock suspension. We're going to stiffen up the rear shocks and make a few more passes after fixing the half-shaft! That should do the trick. -Dan
Thanks Dan !
Killer looks and sound great. Anyone know fastest na boss?
what wheels and size hoosiers
What RPM did they launch at?
It just shows how great of a deal these mustangs and dare I say, even the camaros are with some mild modification. To get a car from Europe or Japan running low 11's or high 10's you'd be spending over $50,000 easily.
So this is without a tune? wow and what is the average cost to upgrade Mustang half shaft?
This car is tuned by Bama Performance. The half-shafts aren't expensive. Cost depends if you go with a stronger version or stock replacement! Won't be more than a few hundred bucks, though. -Dan
What gears r u running
Get that monster back on the track ASAP!
jmc6000 She's all fixed up! We'll be heading back to the track shortly. -Dan
Why are you running a tire that you dont even sell on the website?
Can we see a pic of that half shaft? I love seeing broken car parts lol.
Charles Kim Follow Bama Performance on Instagram! They'll be posting up some great pictures form the track. Including a broken axle shot! IG name: @bama_performance. Hope this helps! -Dan
How much was he launching at ?!
This is why they should have offered the Tried and True Solid Rear Axel or IRS.
What's the 5.0 putting down with bolt-ons now - 410? 420?
Dr.Beef Yup. Right in that area! -Dan
What was the 60ft?
Was he no lift shifting ???
All great things come with a price
Gotta pay to play! The saying "you're not going fast if you're not breaking things" is definitely true. We'll be back on the road and much stronger shortly! Stay tuned.. -Dan
AmericanMuscle.com how much WHP is it pushing/
Don't recall any broken axle shafts on the live axle cars, with similar mods.
Too bad right out the box Fords IRS is looking like a weak point. The previous version was similar in reputation and now the "track guys" are going to scratch their heads.
I suppose the after market half shafts will be a big seller and now one part to add to the mod list.
Sounded awesome!!!! Took off like hell!!! Not bad for just exhaust, CAI and tune that's for sure.
It was actually pretty common to twist an axle tube on the solid rear cars as well. We had it happen to Project Coyote twice and I did it on my 2011 GT with just bolt-on's!
Glad you like the car. This thing sure is impressive! -Dan
When the mustang was released most people talked it down for not looking like a Mustang and looked ugly- But this will be a very successful car the styling is flexible enough for all types of tuning. GM should be worried because this would be a regular sight on European roads while the Camaro would not be.......
Whats that thing weigh? 3100 pounds with driver? What was the DA -2000 feet?
John Wimsey Race weight of 3,650 with a half tank and driver! the DA was not negative on this pass. Hope this helps! -Dan
so the new mustang break quickly?
is this engine factory stock besides the air intake and the listed mods?
***** Yes. The engine is untouched. Just a cold air intake and Bama tune! -Dan
that's sweet, not stock though but still sweet. coyote is good motor. the battle between GM and Ford is good for us guys.
You can kiss your warranty good bye with that BAMA tuner
Woo!!
Awesome guys. So what was wrong with the car? The axles?
netweit3 Nothing any more! The Half-shafts on these cars are fairly "weak" and should be upgraded when you start modding and or running a sticky tire. - Will
What would you guys say is the biggest let down about this car when it comes to modding it? I was thinking of fixing up my own. Can I expect everything under the hood to keep it together? +AmericanMuscle.com
Those sticky tires + launching that hard + stock suspension = :(
I should be at MIR In November
It's never fun breaking something but this is great news because the thing that should have broke, did and it wasn't something like the input shaft, trans gears, or clutch! AM will throw in some heavy duty half shafts and a drive shaft and go at it again faster.
That's not good news... Guess this new setup is made out of butter compared to the good old straight axle. I wonder if it'll keep together once you get the more heavy duty stuff installed.
The Dutch Texan We knew that the IRS wouldn't be as good as the solid rear axle at the strip. The IRS really shines in the comfortably and handling departments! The car should be good to go with the heavy duty half-shafts. We'll 100% find out for you guys! Stay tuned.. -Dan
Livernois Motorsport did 11.8 on ecoboost with tune, tires and throwing out the passenger seat lol.
wait till' MMR brings out the fun stuff
he had a bit of delay on the first run when it turned green he had like a second or maybe more of delay before he took off
Since this is just test & tune the reaction time actually doesn't matter. The clock starts tickin' when you cross the starting line! You can sit there for 30 seconds and it wouldn't matter. Hope this helps! -Dan
Oh well thank you for the info i didnt know that there was a starting line for them. Thank you for the reply
Scion-ara
Chassis work...lots of bounce...more speed there..
The rear squatting during gear changes were so painful to watch.
Honestly, I don't see the point going for the record, as it will only last a short time before being broken multiple times within a short time.
Besides my sceptism, best of luck to you guys and I look forward to seeing how the IRS performs (and how you over come the issues that I suspect will arise with it).
I dont see how these guys at AM don't already have every 1/4 mile record for every mustang ever made considering how much money they have and the access to unlimited modifications. Now you would think AM would be king of the leaderboards... I'm hoping to see them keep the record for the 2015 here. Looks good so far
NegativeNumbers427 They're just trying to create hype to sell products (hey, nothing wrong with that though!). The temporary record is just a selling point/pride, not the sole reason they chose to do this.
Seeing how you guys push these cars on the daily, and get to see the common problems right away... What half shift do you consider a top contender replacement out of the factory?
My gt will be completed 4/20 and I am preparing a list of day 1upgrades including cai, exhaust, a new tune, and tires removing the performance summer onlies. You guys are only a short drive over the bridge from me and if replacing some other key weakpoints can ensure a more reliable daily racer, what else would you recommend?
I'm eagerly awaiting a hellion twin turbo as well. Knowing that would you recommend anything additional... And do you guys install a brought in TT for the car?
Half shaft * auto correct fail there
