    Hello,
I've just ordered a Suzuki DF 30hp ATHL and I need to know big should I do the transom?? Can you tell me the lengh of yours?(if you have a long shaft type)
By the book they say 508mm, but I ve mesured with a Suzuki 5hp and it has almost 590mm. I can't find a 30hp to measure.
Can you help me figure it out? I need a lengh of your boat transom.
    Thank you

Have you installed a tachometer or do you just ballpark the rpm, I ordered a big fish 16 with df25 and is learning about the motor, thanks.

No tach. Ive never over reved it, no lights, no problem. I have an 11 pitch prop Suzuki. Your big fish 16 probably has a 20 inch transom, you can get away with lots of engine choices. This 25 is awsome.

This df25 will push your 16 no problems at all. It has tons of power all the way through the range. See my other vids as I get 30 mph on the gps with passengers.

What did you end up doing to gain the extra miles per hour? I’ve watched your other video where you were topping out around 26. I have the same motor and am not able to get more than 26mph on the stock prop. Worried something isn’t right because I can’t get more than 4,020 RPMs..

I got to say, the motor is broken in at 28 hrs, and just seems to have gotten 3 mph more out of it every time now. I was 27 mph at first from the start. Now Im getting 29 and 30 every time. The only thing Ive done is change the oil and grease the service points and prop shaft.

What do you have your engine on ? 4200 sounds low, should be around 5200 plus. Sounds like weight/prop stuff. I tried a 12 pitch solas prop and it didn't do well on my engine. Plenty of power, but got 29 mph out of it and it made a squealing sound that pissed me off, so I took it off. faster and more snappy with the 11 pitch stock prop. Perhaps a 10 pitch needed for your boat ? Let me know Im curious about that.

1minibean my motor came stock with a 10 pitch, not 11. I put a 12 pitch on it and was able to get to 28mph, but yea now I’m getting the prop screeching sound too and it’s very annoying. I’ve read up on it a bunch and it sounds like it’s because the blades are too blunt on the solas props. It’s called prop singing or something. I have a 1448 tracker grizzly. Still no increase in RPMs though which makes me thing either my tachometer is trash, or there’s really something wrong with the motor. Sorta at a loss for what else to try now.

I wonder how you would do with an 11 pitch Genuine Suzuki prop on that. 26 mph with a 10 pitch sounds right, sounds like 4200 rpm max is a mistake because I don't believe you would get 26 mph at 4200 rpms ever with this engine. Sounds like the tach isn't correct.

    • @1minibean

@@laddcampbell2833 Almost sure it's your tach. You will not achieve 26 mph at 4200 rpm with this engine, for certain. Feel good about your motor, I think your DF25 is running perfect.

@@jesseashmore8426 I sincerely doubt you will be able to purchase a new Suzuki 25 hp outboard in the U.S. with shipping charges, border taxes and other expenses for a total below $3.4k for a base model 25 hp...much less "just over $2k"! Through my research I've determined there are companies advertising amazingly low prices on the internet based on what you might pay only it you took delivery at the seller's facility (i.e. someplace like southeast Asia,, Singapore, etc).. However, after the (undisclosed) shipping charges, border taxes, etc. are added on you may discover the final cost may be several hundreds of $$ more than their advertised prices. Also the manufacturer's warranty may be void (or unavailable) unless the motor is purchased through a U.S. Suzuki dealer. That said, if you're brave enough to order from one of these questionable dealers, please share the details of your purchasing experience and final cost, for I'm confident there are others who (like me) may be interested in purchasing one of these motors..

@@smoothsailin7294 www.rembulanfishingstore.com/2019-suzuki-25-hp-df25aes2-outboard-motor/ Says shipping is $320 for sea and $920 air to ship to Maine. Comes with 3 year warranty. That said, there's a local Suzuki dealer that offers a 5 year warranty that I'm going to check out first.
