Thanks Philip :) The other video of this that was uploaded first was removed due to a lot of upload glitches in the video, but luckily it's all fixed now :)
Lovely footage of the `Old Gal`, nice to see her back in action. I first saw this loco around 1959 at Doncaster, on an "Ian Allan Special". Well done Cameron.
Interesting watching her run through Widney Manor Station; seems to be notched up so far the exhaust cutoff is too early resulting in over-compression that's popping the relief valves. At least on the front, valve timing out a bit? I'm not that familiar with the Castle class, so this could be normal behaviour for the class; seems off though.
as i remember when i was a lad my uncle and my grandads mate (who was well known for driving fast) both oxford men, that's what castles do when the driver let's them have it as they put it. i think you may find that was more than 75, it was a test run, safety valve lifted, plenty of steam out of the chimney, and black smoke (more coal), valves slapping and the wisps of steam from the cylinders, that driver was showing clun the big stick. good on him not seen that since i was a lad

That was a darn good day’s filming!
Thanks Hilary, glad you enjoyed the film! :)
is this going to be part of the regular steam loco service we hear about In 2018?
She certainly is :) She's going to haul her first tour since 1988 next Thursday from Tyseley to Worcester Shrub Hill :)

Bruh that dude's flag spin was sick.
a castle at speed super, how fast ? 75 + ?
Must've been doing at least around 75 :)
I videoed her at Widney Manor station too ☺🚂
Brilliant! She was certainly shifting that's for sure :)
6 coaches is hardly “loaded” considering it will pull 13 on rail tours.
Agreed. I've seen 14 on through Saunderton...
