Big was always honest with Carrie, she just wouldn't get the hint. She thought he would change for her, that she'd turn him into a family man or something and because he wouldn't, she presented him like the bad guy. How many times had he shown her that she wasn't indeed "the one" and she constantly went back for more.
No he wasn't honest because he always gave her false hope stringing her along ... he must have told her straight but he was never ever honest, he was playing with carrie
YES! Everyone acted like Big was this horrible person for not wanting her to come to Paris, but realistically? He wasn’t wrong. Carrie would have uprooted her whole life to follow him to Paris for a year, and as we all saw in season 6, that is a terrible idea- she was miserable and lonely in Paris. And what pisses me off the most? Carrie literally led Aiden on two seasons later, to the point where she *accepted his marriage proposal* even though she did not actually want to marry him. And this was after cheating on him, too. And yet Big was somehow the problem? Yeah, I don’t think so. Carrie was a terrible girlfriend who made everything, even Big’s work obligations, about her.
Thank you! I was going to comment something like this, but you've said it. Big was always honest with Carrie: he found her interesting and wanted sex. He never made any indication of wanting a relationship. Carrie pushed and tried to get more personal. Big knrw Carrie was immature and emotionally unstable so he never wanted outright to tell her, "Look. I'm not into you". Big's only fault is that he should have cut off all ties with her to make it clear that he didn't want her.
cirila dewi lanch oh well. Men act like this only because you allow them to. When you find someone that doesn’t respect you and treats you shitty you just have to let them go and move on. Clearly Big never really wanted a serious relationship with Carrie, yet she kept pushing and going back to him and trying to make it happen. She looked desperate to him and men don’t find desperate women attractive at all. So if someone doesn’t want you, have some self respect and let them go. Their loss. But what do I know huh
the crazy and sad thing is that we've all been in this kind of situation at some point or another, it sucks that sometimes people get strung along like this yeah it seems like its meant to be but timing is everything i suppose. i feel carrie so much
Eliza Bentley or how about Im a fan of Carrie who has Sense of humor and You are a Leftist hate monger who will die a virgin because the substance you are delussional eating up the remnants of your humanity.
Carrie is a hopeless romantic child and Big is a pragmatist business guy. The scene is where fantasy got crushed by reality. Carrie is acting based on the future she created in her head and Big is acting based on the present, he’s just being realistic
The scene is completely realistic in my opinion, especially when she says you said you loved me and he replies.. I do.. while he’s also saying not to move to Paris for him? It’s a complete mind fuck, that would confuse anyone. People can say what they want about Carrie she was immature, a shit friend, she was pathetic etc but I can’t fully blame her in this on and off relationship, he was like a magnet to her, he would chase her and then push her away in such an ongoing cycle, and it was hard for her to completely cut it off especially because he had money, class, and she was attracted to him etc and when you really look at it he wasn’t an awful evil guy, he just wasn’t the best when it came to their on and off toxic relationship , he never really knew what the hell he was doing! I wouldn’t be surprised if he had met Natasha around this time and so he was off with Carrie all of a sudden Iv been in a situation like that, where I was in a toxic on and off relationship with a guy who would mind F me constantly, telling me he didn’t want a relationship and girlfriend right now but if he did he would date me, it was a mess. But he ended up cutting me off when he did meet another girl behind my back and behaved like Big did here. In the end they didn’t last just like Big and Natasha didn’t, and he did try contacting me and crawling back into my life, only I grew up and I forced myself to leave him in the past. Sometimes I wish Carrie had of been as strong to do so too! But sometimes I can’t help but love their relationship here and there throughout the show.
Being hurt countless times by Big wasn't enough to walk away once and for all.Doing things and wanting to be a part in the life of someone who doesn't really give a damm about you...So devastating a total dead end relationship...It hurts awfully when you realise that you're not significant for the person who's significant for you.
the way she kisses him, talk to him.. and he is so distant. He does not care. "Are we thinking of doing something?"... wake up Carrie there is no "we". He's just stringing you along and then he will marries the first girl he meets. "Why is it so hard?" He does not want you dear! Stop forcing a relationship onto him!
My son’s father is/was my Mr. Big. I don’t understand the hold he has on me even now. I’ll be glad when I meet someone someday who makes me not even think twice about him.
She was always role-playing to entertain him, just trying so hard. Isn't it ironic how Aiden pressured Carrie and he's labeled a bully but when she pressured Big, that was justifiable. Carrie kept going off by the rails, throwing fits at Big's place, at parties, in restaurants, in the streets everywhere really and that's just fine. There's no great love, not even much in common except they're both narcissists. She wanted the status, glamor and riches he could provide.
You have completely misunderstood the entire SATC. They were meant to end up together. "Carrie you're the one" is what he tells her in season 6. They have such great chemistry.
He wanted a classy woman, Carrie was fun and easy not marriage material. In the end he settled for her. Really I think he wanted someone like both Natasha and Carrie in one person but couldnt find it so he had to pick one. He messed up with Natasha and then eventually only Carrie left because she was desperate and a doormat. A woman with class like Natasha could love him to death but never go back after such an awful thing such as cheating. Carrie accepted any behaviour.
So true. Big had 2 classy ex-wives (the publisher and Natasha) and couldn't make it work with either, so in the end, when he was older and not really that much of a catch anymore, he settled for the doormat who followed him around for years. He probably thought "Well, I don't have many years left anyway, might as well get me a free hospice nurse."
If I recall correctly, on Carrie and Big's first date they didn't even bother going out on a date and went straight to bed...the relationship was inevitably doomed.
all she wanted was a committed relationship from big. gor her to know that thuer relationship was real and on the road to somwhere but he kept his distance from her all the time. he didnt know what he wanted. but he did know that he didnt want carrie to be with another man and moving forward with him.
So Big goes to Paris and marries Natasha. Carrie and Big have an affair. Carrie goes off to Paris with Alexander. Big flies to Paris to get Carrie. They marry and he drops dead in the shower. The End.
You would think Carrie would look at Steve, Harry, and Smith and think "My friends seem so happy. I want a boyfriend like that". And she had Aidan at one point! Some girls just like to suffer.
well she was too clingy and too girlie for her age. Coming to a guys appartment wearing costumes and buying Fastfood to guy who eats in posh restaurants. Oh please... she is 35 and acting like 17 to a man who dates models.
Well by the end of the series we ge to realize why big wanted carrie to go to paris only for herself and not him. She would be lonely and alone in one of the most beautiful places of the world.
Never in a million years a man like Big would have married a woman like Carrie... She's been sooooo desperate and needy and clingy all the series I couldn't bare it and no normal man ever would. The ending is a beautiful fairy tale which would have never happened in a real life. I love SATC but Carrie's behavior in relationships is way out of line.
She was not needy she was in love that's the difference all she wanted from him was to treat her with love and respect like any kind of relationship there's nothing wrong with that . whoever you are would you be happy if your husband or wife neglect you all the time and don't show any commitment? I don't think so
I thought I was the only one that thought that way. A lot of people felt like Big was an asshole and didn't care. But he was honestly just calm and collected about how he approached Carrie's behavior.
The reason he ended up with her is because he got older and realized he wanted to be with someone who loved him and nobody loved him the way Carrie did.
BULLSHIT. Narcissists like Big literally bring out the worst in you and can reduce the strongest of women to insecure little girls. It's crazymaking what they do to you
It was like me years back. I moved to a different province to be with the person I was dating and as soon as I got there i was messaged “I hope you didn’t move here because of me”
Mr. Big was actually the mature one in this. Both people should be able to follow their careers and if she really loved him she would respect that his job is important to him. Just like he respects her life. Move to Paris for yourself but mot because you can't be alone. He wants a partner by his side, not a dramatic little girl who throws temper tantrums whenever he makes a choice. Although he should've told her earlier. That's for sure.
Not really, he didn't even factor her in decision making progress. Didn't compromise, didn't calm her down, didn't propose any solution. He was alone in relationship, so basically there was no relationship first of all.
Big said “We will talk about this when I get back “. She flew off the handle and called him before he could ever even make it back to the states lol! Also, I’m like Big. Why would I tell you something about me moving if nothing was definite?!!!! He stated they had been talking about it but no decisions had been made. So I’m sure he wanted all the details before he mentioned anything. She flipped out!!!! They aren’t married so actually what he decides to do for his career is solely his decision. If she is down for the ride great, if not I wish you well. I do understand as a woman how and why her feelings were hurt but Carrie you chose struggle love. He been showed you that everything had to be on his terms. She did it to herself because she could have been left. I get being in love but at what point don’t you see you just aren’t a priority!!
Oh my 🙉 the more i watch and think about the situation the more rediculous it gets. She looks like obsessed with him. She is not his wife, they dont live together, he never promissed anything to her, he didnt ask her if she would consider to join him. ...Her behaviour can not be attractive to anybody, its scary. I understand her feelings but kinda she made it all up herself, she desided to stay with the man who can not commit, who has lots of issues and old habbits, she is obviously not the girl he dreamed of, i think he liked her a lot, even loved her, but he wanted someone well mannered, classic. I guess it hit him hard too when he realised he actually loved her as she was funny and he loved talking to her, laughing with her....but it deffinately was time consuming for him to decide if he really would want to spend the rest of his life with her. I could never wait for a guy like that, too complicated for me 😣 but i guess could be fine for someone. 🤔
He was such an asshole to blame her that it is not the relationship that he wants. Even if you have a friendship you might tell people "you know what, I might go to another continent permanently but it has been nice to have met you" or something, you dont just throw the bomb. Even if you don't love someone who is in your life or you dont feel the need to keep them,, you can still be mannered and sensitive.
This is the only time I actually agree with Big, I feel like Carrie puts her relationship over herself every time. And when Bug said “don’t move to Paris for me” I totally agree. That’s why it didn’t work out whit Alexander Petroski
Finally, someone who agrees with me! True, maybe he should have told her sooner… but he wasn’t wrong. It *would* be stupid to uproot your whole life just to follow a boyfriend to Paris for one year- especially when he’s coming back.
girrrrrrrrrrrrrl, i know it's hard as hell, it's hard. but the earlier you block his phone #, fb, messenger, etc. the better. once he shows that he has no intention of factoring you in his life, there is no business to keep going on. he has no business occupying your time, your mind, your emotions, your anything.
Imagine if Aidan and Natasha had ended up together 😂 now THAT would’ve been interesting. He could’ve gotten her out of her stuffy beige only furniture and furnishings and given her real love
The older I get the more I realize how needy Carrie was, she did not have much self love, she wasn’t mature enough to leave Big since he was not really committed to her at the beginning, she preferred to suffer for so many years while big was giving her just Half or little love every time he wanted. He is right in this episode when he tells her: if you decide to move to Paris do it because you will do it for you, not for me. Carrie did have emotional dependency.
He has a point. And this is how I always reacted when someone wanted to move to my country. You should never move just because of the relationship. If you can get a job there and have a life of your own, awesome, but if your whole life will just revolve around me, no thank you.
Look, some women want more casual relationships, some are looking for more of a commitment. We're not a monolith. But the issue here was a woman more interested in commitment with a man who was not. That's just a toxic set up and it's not going to work. You have to get on the same page about it, one way or another, by some point. And it's better to figure that out sooner rather than later.
Slightly different take on them: I think he's just as hung up on her as she is him and is afraid of being vulnerable with someone so emotionally demanding and volatile. She's always the one to end it but he's always game to start up again (I cannot believe the sex was so good it would be worth dealing with her batshit drama.) Natasha seems like she was an impulsive rebound in an attempt to get over Carrie-evidenced by the fact that within months of his marriage he's actively seeking Carrie out (desperate and needy on her level) and once they're having an affair he's more invested in ending their respective other relationships than she is.
Rule #1 for your self esteem: never say "i'll move there " if the guy doesn't even ask!
Exactly! She was so pathetic and clingy. She could waited for the guy to ask... It's Paris. She could have insinuated she wanted she wanted to go... But no, she went psycho.

@jazinegrrrl Carrie never loved Big. She loved the image of him.
"Don't get Carrie-d away". Big was the smart one. He knew what she was like.
I loved that 🤣🤣☠️☠️☠️☠️. Cause boyyyyyyy was she a hot mess when mad.
Big is so mean here but it always makes me laugh out loud when he says "what the fuck?" after she throws the food 😂
I never would have turned back after walking out that door. It's so obvious he doesn't give two shits about her.
“ I understand “……felt like a hammer to the head.
Hilarious the burger bun stuck on the painting at 3.39 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can’t stop looking at the Big Mac, which was crushed against the TV 😂
2000:”Love Carrie”
2019:”Pure Drama Queen”
I hate men who are like big. It’s happened to me . I am so frustrated because of that
Good luck and hope he doesn't string you along for 6 years.
cirila dewi lanch oh well.
Yep i got strung along for years
Big was upfront about who he was as a person
Same here
the crazy and sad thing is that we've all been in this kind of situation at some point or another, it sucks that sometimes people get strung along like this yeah it seems like its meant to be but timing is everything i suppose. i feel carrie so much
Omg! Carrie looks amazing and she conveys the suffering of the situation so real😥
I always remember the tartar sauce on the television...
Same, LOL!!!!
A relationship based on sex , very rarely works long term
😢 i wish i knew it before!
No wonder Big had a heart condition... Carrie's drama and the greasy food she bought killed him hahahahaha
Nenis Guevara Gómez 😂😂😂
Hahahahahjajajaja...
And they both smoked!
Well it eventually did jsin
@@lindseyburns1019 well, that's our Big...he never had problem to leave her😅😭
This is what she did to Aiden..
not at all
Not even
this is what Samantha did to smith and what Miranda did to Steve in the beginning
Alexis Rocha how? Aidan was open about his feelings and she pushed him away and wouldn’t commit, just like Big.
Very true.
He didn't tell her about Paris till the day of his flight. She still came back. We all are fools.
She needed suffering. If he behaved like Aidan, she wouldn't need him.
When the scenes are stitched together you can see how uninterested Big was in Carrie. Like get the hint !!!
He just didn't love her the way she did...
Sasha S. Because she is a shallow woman who live for designer shoes.
@@eduardochavacano spoken like a try mysoginist. Women can love material things and still have depth.
Eliza Bentley or how about Im a fan of Carrie who has Sense of humor and You are a Leftist hate monger who will die a virgin because the substance you are delussional eating up the remnants of your humanity.
@@eduardochavacano dude you're commenting like this in every single comment. Like... who hurt you?? Go get some therapy lol
He’s a player. Plain and simple.
Carrie is a hopeless romantic child and Big is a pragmatist business guy. The scene is where fantasy got crushed by reality. Carrie is acting based on the future she created in her head and Big is acting based on the present, he’s just being realistic
I love the way Big says “what the fuck” in the series lmao
I wouldn’t be surprised if he had met Natasha around this time and so he was off with Carrie all of a sudden
Iv been in a situation like that, where I was in a toxic on and off relationship with a guy who would mind F me constantly, telling me he didn’t want a relationship and girlfriend right now but if he did he would date me, it was a mess.
That's whats so amazing about this show and particularly Big and Carries relationship....it's so dysfunctional, but so many of us have been through it
Being hurt countless times by Big wasn't enough to walk away once and for all.Doing things and wanting to be a part in the life of someone who doesn't really give a damm about you...So devastating a total dead end relationship...It hurts awfully when you realise that you're not significant for the person who's significant for you.
Your last line hits home.
After watching this episode, I realized, if a guy moved away from me, I now take that as him wanting out and not caring
the way she kisses him, talk to him.. and he is so distant.
That, right there. Those of us who have been with a Mr big know this oh so well
And learned from it. Don’t give 90 percent when you only getting 10.-The END LOL.😊
Natasha stayed quiet about the cheating after she found out, and only got enraged when she spied Carrie in her house
It wasn't hard for him to factor her into his life. He just didn't want to.
And he showed her that from the very first date.
If I recall correctly, on Carrie and Big's first date they didn't even bother going out on a date and went straight to bed...the relationship was inevitably doomed.
She threw everything into this relationship and he didn’t even bother to tell her he was going to a different country. Why did she like him again
Looking back on it, Carrie and Big deserved each other and that's not a compliment.
all she wanted was a committed relationship from big. gor her to know that thuer relationship was real and on the road to somwhere but he kept his distance from her all the time. he didnt know what he wanted. but he did know that he didnt want carrie to be with another man and moving forward with him.
So Big goes to Paris and marries Natasha. Carrie and Big have an affair. Carrie goes off to Paris with Alexander. Big flies to Paris to get Carrie. They marry and he drops dead in the shower. The End.
When he said, “you be moving to Paris for yourself, right.” Dooop! I felt that like a body blow, heart crusher.
After watching these scenes, my very female reaction is not "Why wouldn't Big commit?' but "Why wasn't Carrie committed?"
You would think Carrie would look at Steve, Harry, and Smith and think "My friends seem so happy. I want a boyfriend like that". And she had Aidan at one point! Some girls just like to suffer.
A real lover never hurt his love, he is not a real lover, this kinda men make me sick😝 so selfish
well she was too clingy and too girlie for her age. Coming to a guys appartment wearing costumes and buying Fastfood to guy who eats in posh restaurants. Oh please... she is 35 and acting like 17 to a man who dates models.
@@eduardochavacano they're both shitty people
How dare she , i 'm huge fan of fillet o fish
She shouldn't have waited around for Big. As soon as she saw that he wasn't going to fully commit to her, that's when she should have walked away.
The reason he ended up with her is because he got older and realized he wanted to be with someone who loved him and nobody loved him the way Carrie did.
BULLSHIT. Narcissists like Big literally bring out the worst in you and can reduce the strongest of women to insecure little girls. It's crazymaking what they do to you
He never loved Carrie... he just stayed with her in the end because it was convenient for him.
I hate this time in their relationship. I hate how she reacts. But her hair looks great!!!!
This show's writing is so funny. What does this guy do?! "I'm moving to Paris for work." What work? He just wears suits.
Thats his thing he is the mystery guy we learn his name in the final episode
It's literally about work 🤣🤣
It was like me years back. I moved to a different province to be with the person I was dating and as soon as I got there i was messaged “I hope you didn’t move here because of me”
I always laugh so hard when I see Carrie acting so dramatic! Like girl, you know he is no good for you lol
Lmao Carrie had a taste of her own medicine the way she did to Aiden. I guess Aiden really dodged the bullet.
1:37 The same thing happened with her father when she was five. That's why she is so messed up
THIS
Big said “We will talk about this when I get back “.
“it’s an apology… for being le bitch.” 😂😂😂
And also - she was in love, there is no need to rationalise it.
Self love is first.
@@dbq7137 for narcissist maybe :)
I lie her straight long hair, I wish she wore it like that more often, but her curly hair is also nice.
Hearing carries heart break made my heart break for her 😢
This was the most toxic relationship in tv history other than Ross and Rachel from Friends.
I thinking about this video and now I just want to be like Sam, sleep with men, have fun and no feelings. But HOW ????
He has a point. And this is how I always reacted when someone wanted to move to my country. You should never move just because of the relationship. If you can get a job there and have a life of your own, awesome, but if your whole life will just revolve around me, no thank you.
I went and got mcdonald's after watching this 😂
She was practically begging him to be with her.
Don't expect to be treated like a wife if you're not.
Why is it so hard to have me in ur life in a real way.....?????
All women always
Carrie is so needy! I could've understood her behavior if she was 20 years old. But for a grown woman in her 30s she has no self-esteem at all!
