@@CageFreeMoto You should do it, I'm moving from Ocala Fl back to the gulf coast to Panama city beach FL...this year's big trip for me will be to Milwaukee to the Harley Davidson museum then out west to Wyoming.
@@joezednick3197 Milwaukee is my first destination as my Uncle lives there and plan to go to the Museum. That sounds like a great ride all the way to Wyoming... heading out there this summer? Maybe you can post some pictures on the Cage Free Moto Facebook page.
Another great video, Cage! Best of luck on your upcoming trip- I can’t wait to see your adventures! Assuming you already have essentials like a tire repair kit, rain gear, first-aid kit, the only thing I would recommend would be that seat upgrade. I swapped out my stock seat on my ‘21 RK standard and it easily added 100 miles per day in longevity (I went with the Mustang). It was a bit spendy, but I’ve never regretted it. I can’t imagine 4+ days in a row of 300 miles + on a factory seat. The reduction in transferred energy to your butt and additional lumbar support made it worth it for me. Either way, be safe, my friend!
My next video I will share the essentials I am taking. Was looking at Mustang seats also, however, it would not be here on time... so, looks like stock seat it is for now :) Take care and stay safe!
I just bought a 2014 road king with 7000 miles black just like this bike and I have the tour pack too and alot of extras for 9000 buck, great bike selling my deluxe now 08 with 20k lots of upgrades for 6500
The Road King is an amazing deal, especially with only 7k miles on it! I originally wanted a Deluxe because, as you know, they’re beautiful bikes. But since they were discontinued, I went with the Road King. With all the extras-like the bags, passenger floorboards, cruise control, and the touring frame-plus that classic look, I’m really happy with my choice. Congrats on your Road King! Take care and ride safe!
@@CageFreeMoto all you have to do is speed up the footage for the boring parts in your editing software. Maybe something you can research. Krakens garage does it all the time. I liked it
I just bought the same bike as yours 2 weeks ago!. I rode home in the dark a week ago, And the headlights sucked!. Dim. So i'm changing them out. I did the passing lights today, Whoa, what a difference!. Next headlight.. Finally somebody with the same bike on you tube!!. I too right off the bat installed the docking hardware kit. backrest for the wife and got the wider luggage rack for the travel bag.. The next the best thing i did is install the chrome air/wind deflectors!!! A must, And made a 100% difference from that air blasting me in the face comming up from just below the windsheild. Trust me on this one please!!. were about $100.. I'd pay twice the price for these. Harley Kit #57400146A I also added the soft lowers #57100210 now even less wind!.. Added cruise pegs and mounts on the engine guard, And the 3 pocket windsheild bag. Were so much alike, yep that seat, and want to sit back or rearward a little more.. this is my 5th harley tour model, And next is the 5th Mustang seat. Trust me again on the seat!. You can always add the backrest later.. Thanks brother, If ya go or come back through lower Michigan (Lansing) stop by.... And Ride Safe!!!
Hi Cage 👋 You've got One Best Motorcycles for Cross country 👏 It's really Great what You've done with the Lights 👍 The Only thing that I think You Need is Module to Make Your Rear Signals Stay On while Riding . It works by making Your rear signals Stay on and still work for Your turning as Well 👍And One other Thing is , That Bike Is a little Too Wide for Lane Spitting 😮 I've Seen guys Hit Car on the Mirrors and They Go Down 😢 Not a Good Thing to be Doing With Your RoadKing . Just an FYI 👍 So Ride Often and Enjoy The Ride 😎👍
Thanks! Stay tuned I am currently working with the vendor and will have a discount code and the same set of headlights and passing lamps for a giveaway coming in the next couple of weeks.
I’ve been using the same set from this install video and never had any issues with them. The cool thing is, last year the vendor reached out asking if I could do a review, and I told them I already had! They were still kind enough to send me a full set, which we raffled off to raise money for Veterans. I really appreciated their donation, and if my lights ever go out, I’ll definitely buy from this brand again.
You need some Hi-Way Pegs and mounts. An alternative foot position becomes important on long trips. Make sure you have a first-aid kit and rain gear regardless of the forecast. Plan on stopping every 90-120 miles, or 1-2 hours to hydrate, stretch and go ahead and fuel up every time. A cup holder, or basket for a water bottle is essential. I carry water with me just in case. If nothing else you have something cold to offer another stranded Biker who would stop for you if the roles were reversed.
Thanks for the advice, I will create a video of everything I am planning to take on my first road trip. Definitely have a first aid kit but I think I need one with more supplies. Good idea on extra water for others and a cup holder is a good idea for my Hydro Flask. Look forward to your feedback on my next video. Stay safe my friend!
Stumbled across your channel and been watching video after video. I’m absolutely hooked. No nonsense or fancy gimmicks just informative, in-depth reviews. I’ve always been a biker but new into the world of Harley’s. If possible could you show the bike without the bags and screen as I’m looking into a road king but really want to see it stripped. Best of luck for uk 🇬🇧 👍👍
I can absolutely do that! I am out on a road trip from California to East Coast but will do it when I can. Thanks for the kind words and happy you are enjoying the content. Take care and stay safe!
Hey Cage. Another great video. Based on this video I went and purchased both front and rear signals from Hogworkz. I also have the 2021 Road King. Our bikes are twins. Anyway, I noticed after I installed them, I realized they would only function up front if the bike is running. Is it the same for you? I ask because when you demonstrated the front blinkers working it didn't sound like your bike was running. Finally one of my front turn signals wasn't working properly, acting like it was possessed and wouldnt turn off when I pressed the turn signal button. I contacted them about it. All I had to do is send them a short video of what is was doing. Within 5 minutes they called me back to inform me they are sending out a replacement set and I don't have to return the defective one. Ok my brother. Thanks again for the videos I enjoy them very much. Thank you for your service and God bless. Ride safe.
Thank you so much for your nice comments and sharing your experience. I'm glad to hear that you found my video helpful and that you purchased the front and rear signals from Hogworkz for your 2021 Road King. It's great to know that our bikes are twins! I'm sorry to hear that one of your front turn signals was acting up, but it's fantastic to know that Hogworkz provided excellent customer service. Their quick response and willingness to send you a replacement set without requiring the return of the defective one is commendable. Once again, I appreciate your kind words, and I'm glad you enjoy my videos. Ride safe, my brother, and may God bless you on your journeys.
Have not planned my route home, but how can I resist... go to the about tab and get my email... send me a note and I will ping you when I am planning my route home. Take care!
Finding the right lights for an older bike can be tricky, but there are still great options out there! Check out J&P Cycles or RevZilla-they often carry parts for older models and might have what you need. Also, consider looking at forums like HDForums.com, where other riders share advice on hard-to-find parts. Hope you find the perfect fit for your Road King Custom!
I am out on a road-trip and did not bring the RokForm mount in place for a GPS. That said, I think I tried that and in that position I could not leverage the magnet connection which adds to keeping the phone locked in tight. But I will revisit this suggestion when I return home. Thanks for the advice! Stay safe out there!
Understood, I will try to show an install on other things in the future if it is as simple as this one... because I really not a person who works on the motorcycle and leave it to the experts at HD service Department. But again, something simple, sure, I will film it in the future. Take care!
I’ve been watching your videos. Keep up the good work, you’re a inspiration to others
Thanks for the kind words as that is what keeps me going. Stay safe out there!
You've got the best overall Harley touring motorcycle,,,,,"It's the king of the road". Great video.

It is a Saddlemen bag. Their die has a few of them. I will try to find the link.

You can reverse the way you have your phone mount installed and have the arm at the bottom. That will drop your phone almost 4".
