- VIDEO #50!!
In this video I show you the process of replacing Harley factory headlight and turning lights on my 2014 Heritage Softail Classic with TruckMall LED lights. I am in no way a mechanic! I'm a glorified parts changer, so if I can do this, so can you! I'll put a link below where I bought these off of Amazon. I do not have an Amazon Affiliate program nor do I receive any compensation from TruckMall. These are some fantastic headlights that just about anyone can swap out, and for a very reasonable price!!
www.amazon.com...
I bought the same set two years ago, and still working just fine. I have to tell you these lights are crazy bright. Probably one the best part purchases I’ve made on my 2011 Harley Ultra Classic
Thanks for watching and the comment Dan! Yes, mine still work as well and they are so much better for my old eyes to see with when riding at dusk!! Enjoy!!
That one being crooked drives me insane lol they do look really good though !
the globe on His burnt one was the same
Thank you for the review. I've been looking and researching LED headlights and passing lights for months now for my 1998 Heritage, and my wife's 2002 Heritage. I've been researching the TruckMall lights for several days and after watching your video I just purchased two sets. I almost purchased the expensive ones for $900.00 for both bikes. Big savings with the TruckMall.
Thanks for watching Jim! I really like those lights on my Heritage!! They make a world of difference, and were so easy to install!!
is there any way that you can make it so the passing lights stay "on" when you switch to "brights". I've never understood why the passing lights go off when switching to brights... dont we want it "brighter" aka ALL THE LIGHTS?!?! I have a 2009 Heritage Softail so thank you for the video! It looks like my process will be the exact same
Hey Tyson!! Thanks for the message, and for watching. Unfortunately I don't know of any way to make them stay on... sorry!!
I can relate to the old part, I'm 64 and it's getting harder to see at night, and I am a professional mechanic. I've tried several different lights on my Harleys over the years, so I guess I'm gonna give Truckmall a try now. Getting old is not for the weak my friend, it's for the hardcore survivors of life. Ride safe and stay well. Oh, and please straighten out that left passing lamp, that shit would drive me crazy. LOL
You're spot on Rick!! Old age isn't for sissies!! but it's the survivor in us that makes standing up to that challenge fun! I will get that straightened out, I appreciate the tip!
Saw this video and read the reviews, went to the website and read more reviews thoroughly research these lights. Ordered them this morning 9/27/22 from Amazon and received them late this afternoon. Installed them in about 30 minutes, scared the heck out of myself as I dropped the first passing lamp onto the cement floor when I took it out of the box, didn’t break. Went on with the install and it went great, simple, simple and did I say simple. Took the bike out for a ride in the nice dark roads around my home, no street lights and then onto back roads around the Tucson Mountains. These same lights from Harley would cost in excess of $700, why Harley does not put LED’s on all their bikes is far beyond me. Since I bought this bike in 2006 my biggest and probably only big complaint was night driving due to extremely poor lighting straight from the factory. This $115 which includes sales tax and shipping is the best spend money on this bike since day one and the bike is loaded with chrome, pipes and accessories. If you are thinking about doing this……DO IT, BEST SPENT MONEY EVER!!!!!!!!!
George, thanks for the great commentary!! I completely agree with you - Harley is just way too proud of their lights... which if I were a betting man, are made in the same factory as the ones we bought!! lol.... Mine make all the difference in the world because I had issues with seeing while driving at night... and living in the "deer" zone here in the Texas Hill Country, playing Dodge-Deer at night is no fun! I like being able to see them with more reaction time. Enjoy my friend, and ride safe!!
You needed 16 years to figure out you could do this?
Just got my 2012 a month ago and this is #1 on my list to upgrade. Good video!
Thanks!! I appreciate your watching!!
I have a 2017, but it all seems the same. I had a deer jump over my front wheel and broke one of my auxiliary lights so I decided it was time to change all the lights to LED's. Thanks for the video.
Sorry to hear that!! You're very welcome Joe! It's nice to know that my efforts help out fellow motorcyclists!
Good job explaining the truck mall light installation. I’m also a glorified parts changing and I can definitely do this job. Time to order the lights. Thanks for the great video.
You're very welcome!! I'm glad it helps you! That's why I make the videos. Let me know how it turns out! I really like mine; I'm old and it's harder to see at night, so these make a heck of a difference to me! Ride Safe!!
Excellent video. You do a great talk through. I have already planned on Truck Mall led upgrade on my 2012 Switchback. Much appreciated. Thanks. Ride safe.
Bob, thanks for watching and the nice words! I really appreciate that!! I try to do "how to" videos so that it makes it understandable to just about anyone. It's nice to know that I achieved my objective! You ride safe as well my friend!! Sometime this winter I'm going to be doing a video on changing out the exhausts on my bike, so stay tuned for that one.
You can go to the dealer and they can do a quick headlight patch where your passing lamps will stay on when you turn high beams on.
Awesome!! Thank you for this video! Gave me to confidence to go ahead and order them for my 2011 Heritage Softail Classic!
Glad I could help! This is really an easy install. If I can do it, just about anyone can... LOL!! Good Luck Brandon!
@@thelonemoose4718 Thanks! Just ordered mine, and says it will be here Friday! Going to give it a try this weekend. Will let you know how it goes! 👍🏼
I bought these for my 01 road king about a year ago they are BRIGHT I see everything now lol
Awesome!! I'm glad! It sucks getting older and not seeing well at night! Those lights are awesome!!
thank you lone Moose for your assistance i have 2007 heritage and with those LED headlights it make a great diffance
They sure do!!
I couldn't get my headlight to tighten grrrr
I would always test before closing everything up.
You need to put the left one level it’s driving me nuts looking at it crooked 😅😅
LOL!! Thanks Mark!! Yes, that was fixed shortly after the video was released. I appreciate your watching.
Not turning lights. They are passing lights. I put this exact set on my 2012 Heritage Softail Classic
Have you had any issues with the headlight fuse blowing? Mine blows everytime I turn on the passing lamps
Happy New Year Christopher! No sir, I have not had any issues at all with blown fuses. Maybe you have a wire that is scraped or grounded out that is blowing the fuse???? Please let me know what you find out. Bill
@@thelonemoose4718 thanks I was going to start simple and plug The factory headlight back in and see if it continues to happen if so then I know I have a short somewhere. The lights worked great for about 4 months and then this started happening
Two things number one you're riding a heritage Softail would I ride a 2016 number two the comment about the old guys at night they can't see I'm 61 on the same boat nice video. 👀🤭😁👍
Well said!
I couldn't get the headlight to fit in my 09. Looks the same tho. I ended up sending it back. Mine stayed loose and I couldn't get it to tighten. The factory headlight sets right in with the three notches but this one won't go in the notches. I can't see how you got it to tighten down
It took a lot of messing with it. One other thing you might try is to take out the HD mounting bracket inside the headlight casing and install the one that came with the headlight??? I was fortunate in that my HD once was able to work.
On my 1999 heritage softail classic passing lamps didn't fit at all
I'm sorry Manuel!!
Wouldn’t have taken long to make sure they were mounted level.
Very true sir!
The left driving lamp needs to be rotated
Thanks!! I'll check that out!
That would drive me nuts...😁
“Turning lights”?
PLEASE REALIGN BOTH PASSING LIGHTS SO the CENTERS are BOTH SITTING HORIZONTAL to GROUND. RIGHT NOW there ON ANGLES 🤔😒
Thanks Bill! I did that last month when I was in Utah and my son (a real motorcycle mechanic) assist me with that little task. Good eyes!! Bill
@@billwilson1916 🙏🙏🙏 JUST BOUGHT TODAY, LOOKING FORWARD TO INSTALLING👍
Invest in magnetic screwdrivers. lol
