    Hey guys,
    Here is the link for the Online Self-Check: www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/Accreditation/IQNM.aspx
    We also had some feedback from different international nurses who submitted their queries to AHPRA as to whether their US NCLEX can be used for their Australian registration. AHPRA told them that it is accepted as long as it is taken in the last 10 years.
    Please place your comments if you know anything more about this matter or if you want to know more about something else so we can help our fellow aspiring RNs. Have a nice day guys!

      NCLEX RN is a USA and CANADA standard trademarked by NCSBN USA. Otherwise, if it's not American standard, then it won't be NCLEX-RN. At least, that's my understanding.

I am from South Korea and I had to go through every steps really painfully since there were no one like you guys to advise me. You guys are helping so many overseas nurses and giving them realistic hope. Thanks for making such a informative videos. BTW, I am an Aus RN now for 2yrs. YEAH!

    Hi guys, i have send an enquiry in APHRA’s webpage regarding my NCLEX exam which i took year 2008.
    And they said that After completing the self check and they receive all the correspondence by then i can clarify once more if my previous NCLEX can be considered..
    having said that by ApHRA i think i can see some chance or consideration of all NCLEX passers because if they don’t they can directly say “no , we need another NCLEX that is exclusively arrange by us” but it also bothers me because they haven’t directly said Yes as well because “It is already NCLEX administered by NCSBN 🤔
    So, for now I will just wait for the online self check then hear it directly from them of what is their assessment for me to take path.
    By the way this video is informative and helpful. Thanks guys..
    Kudos!

    Thank you so much for the info. I’m a DOH nurse for 2 years. Entering a hospital was so hard for me. I had a lot of rejections and my high board rating was not valued enough for me to be hired. I felt helpless because I know for a fact that they hired people with ‘backers’. I had no choice but to enter community Nursing (no regrets). Again, thank you for this channel! I can dream again of becoming a Nurse again in Australia 🥺❤️🙏🏻 My 2 years experience was not put into waste..

    All of what youve said, i have read on it in one way or another but thanks for summing it all up. i saw one post in an FB group sharing AHPRA's response to her concern. AHPRA said you can use your US NCLEX-RN result as long as it is within a certain period of time (3 years, not sure). Im really disappointed in this movement. it sounds to me they no longer want IQRNs to flood in the land down under. I mean its definitely not on our favor, so i think im backing out. If i pass nclex, id rather go US and save the hassle of taking the OSCE.

    • @jcandloraine
      @jcandloraine  4 года назад

      You are welcome Charles! We can't really change the content of what AHPRA says because we do not want any miscommunication. All we can do is summarise so really, wherever you go or whatever RUclips channel or video you watch about the OBA it will all be summaries.
      Yes we have seen that post too so we have changed the pinned comment on our video to relay this information and actually you can use an NCLEX-RN result that you have within 10 years.
      Also Charles, do what is best for you. If you think the OBA is not good for you and your circumstances then best wishes to whatever path you choose. Thanks again for watching our video and for the information.

I wanted to ask you guys what this exactly mean since I didn't continue further with the process. It is a little confusing. I tried to find you guys on Instagram or perhaps an email address where I could sent all my questions or concerns about the process to.

      If you haven't done the NCLEX before, you need to get authorisation from AHPRA to sit the test. If you have done the NCLEX for US, you can use that as long as you acquired the results within the last 10 years.

Nclex is a exam you would normally take if you wanted to go to United States as a nurse. How come u have to take it for Australia? So upsetting. What are the other options by doing additional courses and to become part of workforce.? Is there any benefit of her BSC Nursing degree with out experience in Australia?. In fact she is preparing for PTE now with a target of 7 range and with a present score of 6 in each modules and 6.5 overall in PTE exam.

Some facilities accepts applicants without that course but they have to present recent experience as nurse in their home country. I'm not sure if they'll consider your wife's situation. She can work her way up through enrolling a bachelor course as tuition fees are not that expensive for permanent residents.

      OBA will officially start on March 2020. As of now there is no definite answer to how long the OBA process takes but when we find out more and hopefully we can talk to some people who have gone through the OBA then we can probably answer your question but right now since OBA has not officially started there is no way to say for certain. AHPRA does say "IQNMs (Internationally Qualified Nurses and Midwives) undertaking the OBA must pass each assessment stage before undertaking the next. The time taken to complete the OBA is dependent on how quickly the IQNM can progress through the assessments." So in short it depends on the person going through the OBA on how long they will be able to finish it. We hope this helps.

AHPRA oversees 15 National boards which includes the NMBA, the board that looks after the nurses and midwives of Australia.

My question is can I start applying now and get registered in AHPRA but I will not work in Australia yet until 2025. It was mentioned in your blog some of the application can be done online and through our home country.
    So with this OBA, this is only effective 2020-2021? Then they go back to the old process which is the bridging program after that?

    • @jcandloraine
      @jcandloraine  4 года назад

      Hi, since you're already an RN in the US, we don't think you even have to do the OBA.
      No, OBA will permanently replace the bridging program. Bridging programs will only run until 2021 for those people who have been given referral letters. At this stage, they have already stopped giving out referral letters for BP.

      Hi, you cannot work as a registered nurse just yet as you have to obtain a general registration from AHPRA before working as a registered nurse here in Australia. India's nursing education is classed as "unlikely to meet Criterion 2" by AHPRA's registration qualification criteria - basically means that the nursing registration in India is not equivalent to Australia's standards. If you really want to pursue your Masters degree, just make sure that it leads to general registration so you can work as a registered nurse eventually.

But I am confused that I cannot find an option to do skill assessment with ANMAC without registration from APHRA ( for additional 10pts for partner qualification). After seeing the videos, I understood that, I have to go through registration with APHRA, do the adaptation or OBA then only MSA with ANMAC is possible, isn't it ?
