  • Hey everyone!
    Good news to all nurses around the world! Watch and find out more about the newest pathway to become a registered nurse here in Australia. Goodbye Bridging Program! Hello Outcomes-based Assessment.
    CORRECTION: Hey guys we apologise about the error in what we said about the Conversion program. Conversion is actually just like the Bachelor's program but usually it only takes 1 year to do and you don't have to submit your qualifications to AHPRA before enrolling. Thanks to one of our viewers, Jay Guatlo, for pointing this out! Thanks Jay!
    UPDATE as of 16/7/20
    Guys we have made a more updated video about what you need to do to be a Registered nurse here in Australia and what to do to take the OBA. Check it out:

    Is oba easy than bridging program...
    Second one where osce exam conducted online or in Australia...
    Third one how to prepare for oba and osce exam as per Australian standards...
    By the way I'm from India

    • @jcandloraine
      @jcandloraine  4 года назад +2

      Hi, greetings all the way to India!
      With regards to which one is easier, sorry, we cannot really answer this as we neither did bridging nor OBA during our time. Take note though, bridging is like going back to university or school and learning from a classroom with assessments then apply what you've learned in a clinical setting through placements. OBA, on the other hand, eliminates all that and you just take an exam. It may be simpler but we don't know if it's easier.
      2nd question: OSCE is part of OBA and is done in Australia. OSCE is actually the second part of OBA where you will go through a clinical/practical exam after passing the online exam which is also done here in Australia.
      3rd question: A friend of ours is about to take the OBA. She is currently onshore and is enrolled in a review program.
      Hope this helps!

      • be on the employer’s letterhead
      • provide dates of employment
      • describe the role in which you were employed, and whether if was full-time/part-time hours, and

    My wife has recently completed her nursing degree from Nepal. She is registered with the nursing council of the country. However she does not have a practical experience. I went to APHRA website where it says for registration recency of practice is a must i.e. she must have at least 450 hours of work experience for registration. My question is does practical experience during studies fall under recency of practice? Or she should show that she has worked after her graduation?

    Hi!
    I have a question. Which one is better, OBA or the previous bridging course? For me it seems the previous one was better way for learning the Australian health care system. What do you think?

    • @jcandloraine
      @jcandloraine  4 года назад +1

    Hi! Very informative video, but I have a question, I don't think it was mentioned or I just didn"t hear it, but do we need to have experience / licensed to be accepted in the BSN program or the OBA program in Australia? My father wants me to go directly to Australia even w/o taking the licensure exam po kasi, he said that it does'nt matter. Thank you hehe. fellow kababayan here! :)

    • @jcandloraine

      Hi kababayan! For the OBA, you definitely need to be an RN to be able to register. For the BSN pathway, we are not 100% sure but we don't think you need to be licensed as we have friends who was either a psych grad or was in allied health in the Philippines but took Nursing Science here.
