Hi guys, EYES HERE!!! AHPRA has just changed the layout or location of the links for the online self-check. So... once you're in the NMBA website, instead of clicking on Registration and Endorsement, go to Accreditation instead. Then click on Internationally Qualified Nurses and Midwives, then click on Self-Check and Portfolio, then Completing the Self-Check. Alternatively, here's a direct link to the Self-check page: www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/Accreditation/IQNM/Self-check-and-Portfolio/Completing-the-Self-check.aspx
Hi, Just wondering what happens if you miss the 90 days deadline provided to finish your self assessment, or does only start counting from the moment you make the payment ? Great video, thanks 😊
Hello Jc and Lorraine.. You did a great job in explaining steps by steps the oba. Just one question.. Alin ang mas madali ang kumuha ng agent to process the application or DIY..?
Hi, thank you for this very informative video. It helped me in understanding more about the process. I just want to ask if ever I passed the nclex and I have to take the osce there in australia , what kind of visa should I apply for? How do I go from there? Thanks a lot and God bless you both.
Hi JC and Loraine, thank you for doing this video. It is very informative and helpful especially for us internationally qualified nurses. I have a question in regards to OSCE is there any other way I could take that here in Victoria? I have been living in Melbourne since 2015. And also, does APHRA is very strict regarding the experience you have? What if your experience is not enough or what if your experience has expired after 5 years? However, I graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing and passed my local board examination in the Philippines. I also have been working in an Aged care as a PCA. Do you think APHRA will still consider my qualifications?
In the portfolio stage from the application process, could you please elaborate the needed documents to proceed to MCQ exam or the OBA? Thank you for this very informative video and information since this recent changes of registration and application to NMBA! Kuddos!
In portfolio stage you download certified copies from ur qualification, passport, ur nursing license in ur home country. I just done it, and they write to be ready that they might ask later for English exam, police check report to approve that you don’t have criminal history, and recent clinical experience. You check their website for detailed information. Good luck
@@faizahj92 hi! newly registered nurse here in the Philippines 😊 is hospital experience here in my country a requirement when applying as a registered nurse in Australia?
Just to share some info about the English Test. Ahpra also accepts PTE Academic. As copied from Ahpra: the PTE Academic with a minimum overall score of 65 and a minimum score of 65 in each of the four communicative skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking). NOTE: We will only accept test results: i. from one test sitting, or ii. a maximum of two test sittings in a six month period only if: • a minimum overall score of 65 is achieved in each sitting, and • you achieve a minimum score of 65 in each of the communicative skills across the two sittings, and • no score in any of the communicative skills is below 58 PTE is easier and test result is released after a few hours. I had just taken PTE last week and passed. Right now, I'm working on my Ahpra application.
You guys are really helpfull in the process, i was wondering if you could also give some info in future regarding options for CPD sources other than being a member of nursing and miswifery union

Hi hope you’re both doing well. May i know how long did it take for the release of your nclex examinations? Since my nrb is aphra, quick result is not available for candidates outside USA. Hope to hear from you.
Hi Guys, Thank you for this video it was very helpful. I just have a question, I just finish my self-check and I got this answer "Aphra will need to review your qualification(s) at the Portfolio stage to advise you of the steps you may need to complete." Do you know if this lead to steam C or B, I am worried because I am a registered nurse in japan with more then 6 years experience BUT I don't have a Bachelor degree but only a Diploma and I Have been told by agents that I must need a bachelor degree to be a registered nurse in Australia and my almost 10 years experience doesn't count? is that true? Thank you very much for your help
Hi, sorry, we're afraid we cannot answer your question. I know someone who is in the same situation as you. I am waiting for her feedback to find out if it's true. Unfortunately, the only way to find out at this stage is to pay the 640 AUD for AHPRA to begin the assessment.
Hi, I have got the same thing when I had checked, I have done Post basic Bsc Nursing. Have you paid 640 dollars ?What stream did you get? Or any further instructions? Please let me know.
I’m studying EN in Australia, but I’m not a native English speaker. I’ve done and passes on PTE to be able to apply for the course. Do I still need to go through all these process? I’m planning to study RN after the EN course. Thanks!

Hello mates, hope to be great and good looking for this informative video. I'm a registered nurse in my home country and wanna be a RN in Australia; I know that I should pass the APHRA process, Portfolio and etc but there is a question, is there any visa for coming to Adelaide city and pass the OSCE exam other than tourist visa? Do nurses recruitment companies issue special invitations or visas to nurses to come Adelaide and take the OSCE exam, as in the UK OBA equivalence process? Thank you in advance for your helping.
Welcome. Based on your qualification information entered at Self-check, Ahpra will need to review your qualification(s) at the Portfolio stage to advise you of the steps you may need to complete. I am a registered nurse(RN), Registered Psychiatric Nurse(RPN), Bsc Nursing, Msc Nursing, and PhD nursing. Any reason why I was not assigned to a particular stream ?
Hi, that is really odd since you have you have the qualifications of a registered nurse. Some concerns where about why they were asked to upgrade their qualifications which is Stream C but we never heard about anyone that was not assigned to a particular stream.
@@jcandloraine , if you just can clarify what’s the next step after submitting your portfolio ? Will be assigned straight away to any of the streams or you will need to wait? Thank you for your great help 🙏🥰

Hi just want to know what is the usual requirements or documents to be submitted or completed to AHPRA with you in 90 days after submitting the self check?
Hi , thanks for this information it’s very clarify , I had done my self but the massage I received (sed on your qualification information entered at Self-check, Ahpra will need to review your qualification(s) at the Portfolio stage to advise you of the steps you may need to complete.) so what this mean there is no any stream on it can you explained bout this , thanks
Hello po! Thank you for this video! After license, pano po kaya ang process ng paghahanap ng work? May mga hospital po ba na naghihire kung wala ka sa Australia mismo?
Ako na mag-answer ha? Correct me if I’m wrong nalang sa mga nakakaalam. Hindi pwede na wala ka sa australia kasi from the time na nagtake ka ng OSCE, sa AU gagawin yung exam. After 2 weeks may result na po yun. So prolly, nasa au ka pa din po. You can proceed na for registration then look for a job na. :)
Hello, tama po si Ms. Janna na nandito po kayo sa Australia nyan most likely dahil sa OSCE... pro just in case, uuwi po kayo ng Pinas dahil di ka kaaagad nakahanap ng sponsor or reason to stay further, yes may naghahire po na hospital kahit wala po kayo dito sa Australia... although mejo di po kayo priority nyan kasi mas gusto nila talaga ang onshore applicants.
Maaam regarding this question... If you apply for osce... Are you going to shoulder the expenses going to au or can we have agency to cover it?? Thank you
Plz tel while regiatration , can we use the same transcript of qualification that we used during portfolio stage?? Or should i have to apply again from the university?
Hii guys first of all happy new year, actually I have done my Bachelors of nursing from India and masters of public health and wellbeing in U.K , is the process similar for me as u have mentioned because in extra qualification I have to add my masters in it or not? Please let me know about it I am actually muddled now
hello there, great content. Question for you guys - I studied and received by Bachelor's nursing degree in the United States and I had taken the Nclex. Does it mean that I would also need to be taking the OBA as well? Thanks. and I would appreciate nay more information or advice you can extend. Thanks again.
Hi, have you done your self-check? Which stream were you assigned to? If you're assigned to Stream A, that's good news! You don't have to do the OBA. However, if you're assigned to Stream B, you don't have to do the NCLEX if you've taken your NCLEX in the last 10 years.
Hi victor please let me know Nclex is hard exam or is it possible to clear in first attempt. I need any coaching for that.coachin center are providing any material which are related to exam if know. Or can i do self study. What sort of questions appear in exam. Please reply
Hi JC and Loraine! Can I ask you if once we do this direct self check assessment and if Ahpra suggests to do OBA is it necessary for me to have an agency?
I already paid for the assessment but it didn't reflect in my account.. I also did not receive email confirming my payment. What should I do? Will it take time ? If yes, how long? Thank you
Hello j & c i completed post basic nursing in 2014. I applied for self check but after completing self check i received you need further study. Can you tell me why this happen and which study need to do.
Hi po.. i watched you video how to do the self checked.. but in the payment page in you video it tells you which stream you will belong but mine it says " based on your qualification information entered in self check, aphra will review at portfolio stage to advise you to the steps you may need to complte" what does it means? Thank you.
Hi Jc and Loraine, question I’m already a USRN, I already passed NCLEX-RN licensed under NM state, I just commenced the self check process but I haven’t created an account with Aphra, am I still gonna fall under Stream B? Or they would honor my Nclex-RN credentials, should they say yes, does it mean i no longer need to pay 650 aud and can just proceed with the OSCE exams? Thank you and God bless!
Hi. Thank you for your videos po. Tatanong ko lang po yung about sa NCLEX. Nakapag process na kasi ako ng NCLEX newyork state waiting nalang ako ng ATT, will Aphra consider it po? Or need ko ulit magprocess? Magkaiba po ba yung NCLEX ng AU at US? thank you po.
Hello JC and Loraine. Thank you for the video. I have questions: 1. Do you advise to prepare the needed documents before doing the self-check? 2. What are the specific documents needed for the portfolio stage of the assessment in AHPRA? Do they need to be notarized and how many copies do they need? I just recently passed my PTE so I'm about to do self-check. Thanks you so much for guiding us fellow RNs. 😄
Hi Raimer, you're welcome, our pleasure! Yes, in our opinion, it is better to prepare your documents beforehand for a smooth process but don't worry as you are given some time to prepare for these documents. They do need notarized papers (Diploma, TOR and Proof of Identity). One clear coloured copy is enough. Congratulations for passing your PTE! A big relief, isn't it?! :)
@@jcandloraine thank you so much. I will prepare my documents first then. Yes, passing the PTE was a big relief because I was so anxious before the exam. Thankfully I got more than my desired score in just one take. Thanks alot for guiding us. Take care and hope to see you soon in Australia ☝️🙏😊

@@faizahj92 hi! newly registered nurse here in the Philippines 😊 is hospital experience here in my country a requirement when applying as a registered nurse in Australia?
Just to share some info about the English Test. Ahpra also accepts PTE Academic.
As copied from Ahpra: the PTE Academic with a minimum overall score of 65 and a minimum score of 65 in each of
the four communicative skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking).
NOTE:
We will only accept test results:
i. from one test sitting, or
ii. a maximum of two test sittings in a six month period only if:
• a minimum overall score of 65 is achieved in each sitting, and
• you achieve a minimum score of 65 in each of the communicative skills across the two
sittings, and
• no score in any of the communicative skills is below 58
PTE is easier and test result is released after a few hours. I had just taken PTE last week and passed. Right now, I'm working on my Ahpra application.

Hi JC and Loraine, is it advisable to take nclex australia first before starting the self check and process? May i know your take regarding this matter? Thank you in advance
Hello newbie here...this video was very helpful, you explained it so well.Thank you and God bless to both of you.🙏🏻😊
You're welcome and thank you so much for watching! God bless you too!
Hello good evening and thanks for the update and information, pls do Australia register diploma midwife's, hope to hear from you because someone told me they only register diploma nurses but midwife one has to be a degree, hope to hear from you
Hello, thank you very much for the video and the information. I want to ask you that in my case I have a graduation diploma in hemodialysis and another in direction and coordination in nursing service, should I add that as other relevant qualifications or is it only for masters and doctorates?
Im already a NCLEX passer NM state. What stream it will gonna fall? Thank you
Hi hope you’re both doing well. May i know how long did it take for the release of your nclex examinations? Since my nrb is aphra, quick result is not available for candidates outside USA. Hope to hear from you.
Hello po.
Have a good day
Maitanong lang po kung ano po ba mga requirements for nclex australia application?
Hi Guys, Thank you for this video it was very helpful. I just have a question, I just finish my self-check and I got this answer
"Aphra will need to review your qualification(s) at the Portfolio stage to advise you of the steps you may need to complete."
Do you know if this lead to steam C or B, I am worried because I am a registered nurse in japan with more then 6 years experience BUT I don't have a Bachelor degree but only a Diploma and I Have been told by agents that I must need a bachelor degree to be a registered nurse in Australia and my almost 10 years experience doesn't count? is that true?
Thank you very much for your help
Hi, sorry, we're afraid we cannot answer your question. I know someone who is in the same situation as you. I am waiting for her feedback to find out if it's true. Unfortunately, the only way to find out at this stage is to pay the 640 AUD for AHPRA to begin the assessment.
Hi, I have got the same thing when I had checked, I have done Post basic Bsc Nursing. Have you paid 640 dollars ?What stream did you get? Or any further instructions? Please let me know.
Did you guys get a response plz i am in the same situation
Any update po? Ganito din po nangyari sa akin. :( Kaya hindi pa ako makaproceed for the next step.
I’m studying EN in Australia, but I’m not a native English speaker. I’ve done and passes on PTE to be able to apply for the course. Do I still need to go through all these process? I’m planning to study RN after the EN course. Thanks!
Thank you guys for the video!
I have a question, does it require work experience and within 5 years? and how does it count? Thanks :)
Hi, yes, for the OBA pathway at least 450 hours of nursing experience is required in the last 5 years.
Hello Guys thanks for this video,I’d like to know if it’s okay not to declare my pinas exp which is 3yrs ..only ....tpos here in saudi..i got 6 experience and counting
My last experience is February 2015 ,can i apply for oba
Hello sir jc and miss loraine. Thank you for a very detailed step by step self check assessment on how to become australian nurse. Hoping for your next video on how to apply for nclex or mcq exam for OFW like me. Especially here in riyadh saudi arabia sir. Thank you. Hope you could help me. 😇
Hi, thanks for sharing. Love from Zambia. I have a diploma in nursing, do I still qualify?
In portfolio part, all of the documents must be in certified true copy form? passport, tor, marriage certificate(if married)
Hello,
It happened same to me , we just have to wait till they get back to us?
@@jcandloraine , if you just can clarify what’s the next step after submitting your portfolio ? Will be assigned straight away to any of the streams or you will need to wait?
Thank you for your great help 🙏🥰
@@aurorahoxha1586 Hi po ano pong update dito ?
Another informative video from JC & Loraine Thanks for sharing :) God bless keepsafe
Thanks Memsh 😘😘
JC & Loraine just wanna know if Nclex already started in Australia?
You guys are truly awesome. Keep it up.
hi i emailed you re: the company that you mentioned here in this video but i didnt get the answer? you ask me other question not related to my inquiry.
Hi,
Just wondering what happens if you miss the 90 days deadline provided to finish your self assessment, or does only start counting from the moment you make the payment ?
Hi just want to know what is the usual requirements or documents to be submitted or completed to AHPRA with you in 90 days after submitting the self check?
Hi , thanks for this information it’s very clarify , I had done my self but the massage I received (sed on your qualification information entered at Self-check, Ahpra will need to review your qualification(s) at the Portfolio stage to advise you of the steps you may need to complete.) so what this mean there is no any stream on it can you explained bout this , thanks
Same situation. What did you do?
@@joanyongco814please do you get any response from aphra
hi sir/maam , for midwife should we also take nclex?
Hello po! Thank you for this video! After license, pano po kaya ang process ng paghahanap ng work? May mga hospital po ba na naghihire kung wala ka sa Australia mismo?
Ako na mag-answer ha? Correct me if I’m wrong nalang sa mga nakakaalam. Hindi pwede na wala ka sa australia kasi from the time na nagtake ka ng OSCE, sa AU gagawin yung exam. After 2 weeks may result na po yun. So prolly, nasa au ka pa din po. You can proceed na for registration then look for a job na. :)
Hello, tama po si Ms. Janna na nandito po kayo sa Australia nyan most likely dahil sa OSCE... pro just in case, uuwi po kayo ng Pinas dahil di ka kaaagad nakahanap ng sponsor or reason to stay further, yes may naghahire po na hospital kahit wala po kayo dito sa Australia... although mejo di po kayo priority nyan kasi mas gusto nila talaga ang onshore applicants.
Thank you po sa mga sagot!
Maaam regarding this question... If you apply for osce... Are you going to shoulder the expenses going to au or can we have agency to cover it?? Thank you
What if I don't have any recent experience in nursing, can I still do the OBA pathway?
Should I arrange Professional indemnity insurance when applying registration?
Hi guys ! This video is very informative.
Please let me know about it I am actually muddled now
Hi, Same lang po ba yung NCLEX for OBA sa NCLEX ng USRN?
Are nurses that have experience in the US, exempted from taking the OSCE?
Hello! Can I take the English Test first before proceeding to the Self check?
Hi, yes you can but that is not required until after you pass OSCE though
hello there, great content.
How I can edit my last name in ahpra as there is mistake in last name and yesterday I got the eligibility for nclex
I am confused now
To apply for a Visa 189 till what steps I should follow only self check or what???
Good day ma’am/sir. Do i need to take my English exam first before the nclex and osce exam or I can take nclex and osce without my english exam yet?
Thank you so much I really appreciate, am interested from india 🇮🇳
Hi JC and Loraine! Can I ask you if once we do this direct self check assessment and if Ahpra suggests to do OBA is it necessary for me to have an agency?
Hi Crystal, you don't need an agency to take the OBA. You may need an agency to process you visa to attend your OSCE here in Australia.
JC & Loraine thanks! So I can just do my self assessment and all?
Hi guys ,you long the entire process takes place?
I already paid for the assessment but it didn't reflect in my account.. I also did not receive email confirming my payment. What should I do? Will it take time ? If yes, how long? Thank you
hi guys! which part of the process will be needing IELTS/language exam? :)
Hi, after you pass the NCLEX and OSCE.
Hello j & c i completed post basic nursing in 2014. I applied for self check but after completing self check i received you need further study. Can you tell me why this happen and which study need to do.
Can you please educate me on how midwives can migrate to practice to Australia. I am a registered midwife in Ghana
Hi po.. i watched you video how to do the self checked.. but in the payment page in you video it tells you which stream you will belong but mine it says " based on your qualification information entered in self check, aphra will review at portfolio stage to advise you to the steps you may need to complte" what does it means? Thank you.
Hello po!
Ano po ba ang mode of payment para maka proceed sa orientation phase 1.
Same question here :)
Same question po.
hi! newly registered nurse here in the Philippines 😊 is hospital experience here in PH a requirement when applying as a registered nurse in Australia?
Hey jc and loraine ıd like to ask u that how many years did u study at university?
Hello, 2 years 🙂
Hi, you're welcome po! AHPRA will accept any NCLEX taken in the last 10 years po.
Hello po, ask ko lang po, how much po in total magagastos in doing this application? Kahit po approx lang. Salamat!
Hello JC and Loraine. Thank you for the video. I have questions:
Hii guys just wanted to ask how long it takes to get the report of portfolio when do i get results wheni can give exam can you tell the time for waiting
Hello, I have done with my self-check but unable to check where payment will be done.
Hi JC and Loraine! Does the review for NCLEX-RN included in the program that you mentioned? Does that agency provides support only on nursing aspects or including the visa processing and all? Tnx
Hi, it is only for the nursing aspect - a preparatory course for OBA. It does not include visa processing.
Thank you mam, sir. God bless!
