    I like to add something I figured out, but wish I was told earlier. Smoking a cigar too fast is a thing, but so is drawing too deep or pulling too hard. Early on I discovered my pace was fine, but I was drawing too hard and too deep. This ended up with the same effect as too fast. Especially on the smaller ring gauges. I had to teach myself to draw in slower without pulling too hard.

    I have watched your videos since I've started smoking cigars, I have learned so much and refer to your videos when talking with others. Keep up the great work!
    P.S. you gave me a time because I was having humidity issues with my 100ct humidors. They are operating perfectly. I just need to remember to re season once a year!. Thanks Again!

    I’m really enjoying your videos. I’ve been smoking cigars for a while, mostly in ways that are observed from others. These little informative videos are helping to correct thing I had been doing a little wrong, or ways of doing things that were just simply better to make a cigar more enjoyable. The presentation and content are excellent. Thanks for sharing the knowledge 👍🏻

    There's a big difference between strength & flavor. It's easy to confuse the two when choosing a cigar. That's why it's always a good idea to ask your cigar retailer if you're not sure of the blend you're interested in 👍👍

Also, as a spot suit lover, I started wearing more jackets and pants and enjoyed that as well. I think that all you advocate and talk about is very useful, detailed and honest. Glad I have discovered this channel! All the best!

    Holding my humi at 65 rh at 75 f°. Never any mold or bugs... Holding sticks around 70 and higher at higher temps grow bugs... The old 70/70 just don't work anymore... Smoke mine at 58-65 rh with my humidimeter depending on region...

    • @anthonymazzola4470
      @anthonymazzola4470 3 месяца назад +1

      70/70 doesn’t work anymore? As a general rule it sure does still work. Why doesn’t it “work” anymore? I won’t debate that humidity levels between 65-72 is a personal choice depending on how you like your cigars but this “new math” for cigar storage going around is overthinking something simple. In my opinion 75 degrees for long term storage is too high. Cooler is always better than warmer when it comes to long term storage of cigars. Obviously you do what works for you but to say the 70/70 rule doesn’t “work” anymore isn’t true.

    You always mention the humidity level of 65-72% relative to what temperature?

    • @anthonymazzola4470
      @anthonymazzola4470 3 месяца назад +1

      Most households are kept at around 70 degrees. Cigars are comfortable where we are comfortable. Too many people overthink temperature. Cooler is always better than warmer as a rule. A humidor should never be kept in direct sunlight in a room.

    Great video! I have been using a 75% boveda pack in my 150ct humidor but i can tell it is too high moisture wise because when i have been smoking my cigars, they res up on the end where i draw from. headed to my cigar shop right now to buy different bovedas

    • @holtscigars
      @holtscigars  Месяц назад +1

      75 is indeed too high, you want to keep the humidity range between 65-72% for your cigars. Anything above 72% runs the risk of encountering mold

    I've had this issue with Padrons - controversial take, but they are so loosely packed that anything outside of a very slow pace and a punch cut seems to cook the heck out of them.

    Can you do “why my cigar won’t produce smoke”? I’ve had that happen a few times lately. It’s burning consistently, just has NO smoke. I had a leaf by Oscar do it and a NUB.

    What can sometimes cause bitterness?

    • @holtscigars
      @holtscigars  2 месяца назад +1

      In most cases, improper humidity or a bad draw. If a cigar is too dry the tobacco can burn too fast and taste bitter. If you have a bad draw and are trying to pull too hard/often, that can also cause a bitter flavor.

    What if you don't own a humidor?
    What if you buy online and smoke them isn't it the store responsible for the cigars?

    • @Notgoodlilbro123
      @Notgoodlilbro123 3 месяца назад

      Why? It already left their inventory 😂 its only their fault if they were selling u mold infected cigars

    • @Pietro97007
      @Pietro97007 3 месяца назад +1

      You should still have a humidor, even a “tupperdor”. Because oftentimes cigars aren’t being humidified in transit, common tip is to put your newly received cigars in your humidor for 2 weeks or so to get them humidified.
