The quote that got me into cigars: “It isn’t peace-of-mind it gives you. It’s peace FROM mind.” Pairings are never essential. As stated in a previous comment, I have a huge whiskey collection. Since getting into cigars, I practically don’t drink a drop anymore. Never had challenges with alcohol, but to me cigars reinforce what alcohol never could: savor, slow down, and always must be value-added to your life. Keep that in mind as you explore the hobby. Cheers.
Same here. Root beer, black rifle mocha coffee with a maduro or the caramel with a Connecticut both good, cream soda is a good one. I have a store by me that has craft root beers made with honey and they are amazing as well. Takes some trail and era to find what works for you but these are my favorites if you haven't tried yet. Oh and the black rifle coffees still have a strong coffee/espresso taste and a good chocolate flavor that's not overwhelming either
Cold brewed coffee and vanilla cream soda. Go 50-50%, or to your liking. Fav mocktail. A lot of old timers swear by A&W root beer. Cigars replaced booze for me.. After years of having a drinking problem, I discovered cigars for my chilling time. Cigars don't change my personality!
For sure!! Not to long ago I started a new job and found a guy that smokes cigars. And he’s actually knowledgeable about them like myself. We go to a local bar with a patio and smoke and have a couple drinks at least a few times a month. Smoking alone has its place, but smoking with a fellow brother of the leaf is the way to go. Cigars can bring people with so many differences together. There is nothing like the cigar culture!
Great video!! As a member of the sober community myself (just celebrated 13 years off the sauce) i cannot tell you just hiw much i appreciated this video Anthony. Always love seeing you on the show Facc. Cheers boys!!
Thank you brother. If I may, I do have a pairing question for you. In your opinion, what cigar do you think would pair well with a non-alcoholic Moscow Mule?
Fantastic video guys. I am a pastor and so ive never had alcohol but have been enjoying premium cigars for 27 years now. The guys at the cigar lounge razz me at times for pairing with colas and now I have a few more choices in my repertoire. Thanks so much I will try them all!
I am part of the sober community and I love to pair a good cigar with a good friend and a cold sparkling water, Tapo Chico for me. Thanks for this content. Good stuff.
This was timely. Just came back from the doc and got a lecture about the alcohol intake. Dealing with some GI stuff I'm not convinced is related to alcohol... But have lately been cutting almost all alcohol out so hopefully there will be some good options here
My Dad smoked cigars and a pipe for many decades. His second wife is the only woman I ever met that loves the smell and would get turned on by the smell. Lucky man. My wife, I have to go outside but I am happy to do it. She doesn't complain that I smoke cigars providing I smoke outside.
By far the best drink is Kombucha with cigar. For some reason it resets my palate for cigar taste. Both of you should a video on "if you had to smoke one cigar for the rest of your life, which one would it be?"
I have an extensive whiskey collection, and used to be an avid home brewer. What all of that experience and time helped me realize, is that with just about every single cigar I have at home…..it’s a bottle of water mixed with orange Gatorade. 😂
2 words… Chocolate Milk. I stumbled onto this by accident last summer. Root beer is nice too. My go to when I am drinking is a Sentimental Gentleman. (Blended Scotch, Benedictine, and Nocino).
Very well done on presenting some non-alcoholic options for pairing with cigars. Sparkling flavored water is what I drink. Not too sweet, not too strong on the flavor, it's refreshing, and it pairs well with what I smoke. Thanks for this episode.
I love the honest opinion’s. It is refreshing nowadays to hear someone agree to disagree with a cigar pairing. Everyone has their likes and dislikes. We should encourage honest conversations.
I really appreciate you guys doing this video. Along with going into year 3 refraining from consuming alcohol, I don’t drink coffee. So I kinda been feeling like I been missing out on a full cigar experience not having libations. These are some legit premium non alcoholic products you choose and it shows how much effort you put into the video. I think I got a good gauge on what cigars to pair with each. Really hope this becomes a series!
Non-alcoholic Guinness Stout, blue can. In your local supermarket with the other non-alcoholic beverages. Gotta give a try for you, dark beer lovers. But, not limited to the dark beer lovers. 😊
I’m part of the sober community I pair with root beer, cola, ginger ale, sprite, sweet tea, cream soda, Dr Pepper. All depends on what I’m smoking as well like if I’m smoking a Connecticut shade I lean towards a ginger ale or sprite. A cameroon or Maduro wrapper I lean more towards the cream soda or root beer. And a habano wrapper I go with Dr Pepper or a coke. If I’m smoking a chocolate note cigar like a judge or a nuance or Oliva V I’ll pair it with some black rifle coffee
idk if anyone at Holt's will see this, but your online instructions for refilling a butane lighter (instructing users to refill over the sink) is specifically warned against on butane cans. The gas is heavier than air, causing a hazard.
Thanks for the heads up! We took a look at the article and we mention filling a zippo lighter over a sink, but not a butane lighter as you're absolutely correct it is not safe to do so.
Good Evening 😊 Awesome cigars and a great pour , as i dont drink alcohol 🥃 Thanks for Sharing and Enjoy those smokes 🌬💨💨 Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
I’ve been enjoying cigars for about a little over a year now and not once’s had I thought about pairing it up with a Nonalcoholic beverage. Excellent show!
Fantastic video, as always. I really enjoy all these uploads. And, when it comes to non-alcoholic pairings, I really appreciate the contrast I get with a sweet cold cola and a nice cigar.
Mazz and Facc, I am sober for medical reasons and just getting into cigars. My favorite pairing is either a strong espresso or a non alcoholic beer. Specifically Bravus brewing company and thier variety pack which contains a variety of beers to suit any kind of cigar!
For a long time while learning what I liked and didn’t like to smoke I would only and always drink sparkling water while smoking. Ever few puffs I would take a sip and let it sit in my mouth. The carbonation almost helped clean my pallet and reset for the next few hits. Doing that taught me how to differentiate different notes I would pick up instead of them always feeling so blended and not knowing what I was tasting. So I agree the carbonation messes with your pallet a lot.
Carbonated water rocks with cigars. I have been only smoking one cigar, one model of cigar for the last 20 days or so and pared the cigar with all sorts of stuff. I always didn't get much from the cigar except for its body and some very very very little sweetness. But tried carbonated water the other day and I ended up picking up more flavors that I never pick up on the cigar when pared with other drinks. Dark chocolate. I was pleasently surprised then, so I'm ganna pare my future cigars predominently with carbonated water from now on. But I found that Bergamot tea goes well with any cigars really.
Sparkling water or club soda with lemon juice. Not for the flavors but to keep the palate clean and neutral and just letting the cigar flavors be what I enjoy
I actually sat down on my deck to watch this with a Macanudo Caviar and a glass of milk.... A short smoke and no alcohol before work.... Great video fellas....👍
Ice cold whole milk is fantastic with a cigar. Unsweet iced tea, cold brew coffee, espresso and oddly enough lite OJ. You haven’t lived until you’ve chased a $30 cigar with Capri-Sun Pacific Cooler or Tang or Cherry Kool-aid.
Hey Anthony, i like pairing my cigar with original baileys. Have you ever taste cigar with baileys ? I would like to know which cigar is a good pair for baileys. Thankyou!
Given how sweet that is, I’d consider a cigar that isn’t trying to be outright sweet. Consider EP Carrillo’s La Historia. Great on its own, but certainly holds up well to any dessert-like pairing.
As a friend and family member of the sober community and a friend of Louis, thank you for making this video. My favorite na spirit Clean R (spiced rum alternative) over ice with a splash of coffee paired with Kentucky Fire Cured sweet or Don Pepin Vegas Cubana.
Hey Anthony, that grin at the beginning of the video made me think you smoked something else.. Hahaha You and your buddy fach make some schweet cigar videos. Honestly I've noticed clips of you in other ppls content now.
I have done it all in regards to pairing. Water is my go to. I don't want anything to mute the nuances of the stick. A Dr. Pepper does better than any alcoholic beverage to me if I had to pair.
My go to is Sweet Tea and Dr Pepper Cream Soda. Delicious and the tea enhances the flavor of the cigar. Delicious. With a young child I lean towards non alcoholic drinks more than not.
Give me a Vanilla latte with a Davidoff Limited Edition Signature No. 1 any day of the week over a spirit… Give me a cafe mocha with a Davidoff Royal Release over a spirit too.
Great video, some time im in the middle of the day on a week day and is to early to open a bourbon scotch or tequila to smoke a cigar but this video really gives me a lot of ideas to pair a fine cigar with non alcoholic beverages specially that Tenneyson black ginger blotter 😮😮
Iced Earl Grey tea with tonic👌 also the new non-alcoholic Gordon's Gin & tonic just makes the flavours of any cigar erupt in your mouth🤤Much love from Northern Ireland🙏
I definitely gravitate towards a good cup of coffee, be it hot or iced. When someone told me about Dr. Pepper, I thought they were nuts... until I tried it. I'm not really a fan of sugary sodas, but that is a hell of an occasional treat with a stick.
I like the experiment you guys are conducting in this theme. 🙌🏼🔥🔥🙌🏼 Apart from my espresso and my Cafe con leche, I love pairing with a non-alcoholic beer. My favorite is Athletic Brewing Co. They have some amazing tasting beers that will impress. The Hazy IPA is my favorite, but I’d love to try the Dark beer. You guys ever consider doing a pairing with beer? Especially, non-alcoholic
Needed this, sometimes you wanna still get fancy with a pairing and not have to break the bank or consume alcohol, on nights when you know you should slow down and not drink, nice to have some other options
Frostie root beer is my absolute favorite with or without a cigar. Comes in glass bottles and aldi usually has it in the summer time. Wonderful with a Maduro or Corojo wrapper, I really like how the flavors mingle. Sioux City or Stewart's work too, but frostie is my absolute favorite.
Hey guys im very into these non alcoholic drinks.. pro tip here, it really shines when u mix it… the seedlip actually is a misunderstood one, it is very light, buuut i tried it in an Enzoni, the clove shiiines with the grapes and the lemon.
This might be weird but along side coffee and tea, I also really enjoy a fruit drink, especially pineapple juice (with ice) with my cigars. I love the opposing flavour compared to the earthy / cedar notes of a cigar. It’s like opposites attract. 🤷♂️
that Disney style mint julep or guayaji Yerba enlighten mint are good with mild to medium cigars.. or a hot or cold bold coffee with a full body cigar is my go to.
My grand dad taught me to smoke cigar when I was 13. He is a strict no alcohol no drugs no cigarettes former AA guy. He won't even take nyquil because of the alcohol. He taught me to pair with cofee or soda. Cream soda cola things like that. But one that goes best is Horchata preferably the central American style. If you know you know.
I'm a recovering alcoholic so this is just what I needed. Plus I'm new to cigars. Thank You all.
The quote that got me into cigars:

Quite often I pair a glass of milk with mine....
Goes well with most of what I smoke....
@jony6toes307 now that's a new one for me. 👍🏾 👌

Absolutely! Non alcoholic my go to is coffee, next A&W cream
That’s great to hear
I'm gonna have to try coffee and cream soda. That sounds pretty good
Love the videos with Facc. The best cigar pairing is with a friend, new or old. Really enjoy the conversation.
Well said 👏👏
So true. But gotta tell ya… silence is a great friend too. Also, bonus round pairing. Cigar in one hand, rosary in the other. Ave Maria!

I attend a monthly Cigar & Theology Herf, and it is one of my favorite 2.5 hours of my month.
This is one of the best Channels period. Just terrific information for cigar smokers at all levels of experience and background.
Agreed! I can name a few good ones but I always come back to Holts
Thank you for the kind words we greatly appreciate it 🙏
Yep! Holt’s has the best cigar content out there!
Not quite as classy but I find the Dr Pepper strawberries and cream soda pairs super well with maduro and Connecticut broadleaf wrappers.
Differently cream soda😊
You can make it classy with the right glassware to drink it from and a little garnish.
Im gonna have to try cream soda.. try no sugar no caffeine A&W root beer bud.. thats my #1
Imagine the micro niche category of pairing cigars with NutraSweet sweetened American sodas!!
Great enthusiasm and good idea.
I like mtn dew. Lots of sugar. Kills the nicotine sickness
