    Hot tip for the uninitiated; if the takeoff and/or landing is the length of your wheelbase or less, it takes more skill to ride and is somewhat more dangerous than something that is actually bigger.

    If you would have use a transition on the other side of the tabletop ramp instead of a wedge landing , it would make your landing a lot softer . Me & some friends found that out when I we were kids . We made a tabletop ramp with a 8 , 12 , & 16 foot span between them , each end had a transition instead of a wedge for landing & the different spans on the top could be interlocking so you could go faster & higher . You would start out on the 8 foot span then once you got that down we would place a 4 foot section that was interlocking on the top making it 12 foot , then once you got that down we would place the last 4 foot section that was interlocking in place making it a total of a 16 foot span on the top . Fun times .

    Make another one out of scrap wood, pallets or wood fresh from a tree which is lying around in my backyard! That’d make it easier to make for someone such as me who is stuck in lockdown not being able to go out to get wood

    I like the idea of have legs that drop down. This was definitely stressing the table top.

    Try making a smaller one that goes the over the sitting part of the bench for beginners. Also you could then use the big side as a hip jump

    I want to see more riding it and a new version down the line.
    I also have another idea: do a build series with very minimal tools. Something that people with just a hammer and circular saw could make. I know that's often possible, but a series dedicated to it would be awesome!

    I have thought about doing something similar with my 5'x8' open utility trailer. I'm sure there is good way to fit the take-off, table top and landing in 3 separate pieces so that it could start as a table top and be expanded into a double that has you jumping over the trailer.

    I think using 2x3s instead of 2x4s is an obvious improvement, and keeping it under 5.5ft so it can fit in most pickup beds or even SUVs is a good goal. You might also be able to reinforce a thinner plywood with fiberglass epoxy.

  • @frankmusgrove8498
    @frankmusgrove8498 3 года назад

    Awesome build as usual, but I’m wondering if you lost strength in the ramps face the way you cut little grooves and then bent and snapped it on to the frame. Usually you would just let the decking or face soak for 30 mins or so and then you can bend it and screw it into the frame at the same time
