Besides being the most thorough at showing the inner workings of the alogrthems you do in a practical way that is for usable sounds.... All with a smile! Thanks man.
Great review. The H9 is just such great kit. This is a super cool algorithm. I was just stumbling through the settings but you've explained what's happening very sagacious like! I've got the Max but this wouid be $20 well spent in my opinion. Cheers!
Fantastic work man your always a wealth of knowledge. On a totally unrelated subject still keen to hear you blend some of those killa amps of yours 😝 maybe that soldano paired with the triaxis & 2:50 🤘😝🤘love your your work mate!
Man I love these. I want one just for the Steve Vai like Harmonizing. 👍💝👍.. Do you like the effects as much as you do with your Axefx?? Just wondering. Thanks for all the cool and informative videos kind sir. 👍💝👍
There's nothing here the Axe can't do with some programming BUT the H9 algorithms do a lot of the hard work for you so you can plug and play. They complement one another well.
893 Undulator has been around a while. There are UndulEcho as well as others based on that input (sens) itivity. Undulate is a whole different beast, 6 wavedelays comprise that, and you have well defined both of these effects in your videos. You the man. Would love to see you on Liquid Sky.
Leon Todd, what’s missing from Evetide’s universe? There are some things they NEVER touched on. Wah. You’d think with all of this potential, a Wah would be inside. It’s not. Moog. Moog and Eventide go WAY back and Eventide could have put waveforms to all sorts of EQ bands, but they didn’t. I want to shoot myself every time I catch myself shopping for Moog synths. If you want that sound.
It was Lexicon with their wonderful interpretation of space. It was TC Electronic with their expert analysis of phase and chorus, and delays. It was Moog with their incredible oscillators. And when people thought of Eventide it was pitch shifts. I’m not a preferential buyer. I know that Eventide went in those directions and basically targeted another companies signature sounds, delays? You’d think that Delays are the Eventide’s primary function. Space? Eventide builds massive reverbs, little tiny reverbs, rooms, halls, plates, all inside a Harmonizer. Built from delays. Oscillators are waveforms strapped to all kinds of features inside, and they’re complex formulas that attach to module parameters, an elevated task for programmers. Then came pedals. All of a sudden Eventide was back in the household name department, dropping patches one at a time, with a tweakers paradise for control. Lexicon never came out in pedal form. They stuck to their guns. So much time has passed. Eventide put out the H9000 and it’ll run 16 patches. With some of them set up for parallel processing, and some of them set up for series processing, I know right where this is heading. It takes time to learn each preset, I mean you spent a whole video on 893 Undulator. But you could run Undulations (oscillators) on just the delays from a 2290, phased echos bouncing left to right undulating like mad, parallel to a solid dry tone. So when you’re tripping out on the Axe unit, please set up some patches with a complex routing. The unit appears more than capable of running effects into effects. Delays into Modulations, with a solid dry tone blended back in parallel. Ya Psycho.
@@Eventual420 The H9 has a Q-Wah algorithm: www.eventideaudio.com/products/algorithms/q-wah Even the Sculpt algorithm can do auto-wah type effects with its tunable peaking filters. Listen to the "wahvolver" preset: www.eventideaudio.com/products/algorithms/sculpt
joecozzi Harmadillo can also produce some wha-ish sounds, and also the ModFilter algo is capable of those. I second your opinion, there is nothing I miss with the H9. Maybe some Boss SY 300 or EH Key9/Mel9 like algos - polyphonic synth sounds would be cool.
The Eventide H9 is cool, but I don't like the limitation of how many fx you can use at a time. I want a rack, multi fx, high quality in a single stereo in/out pedal. Not having Reverb/delay or Reverb/Delay/ and Modulation disappointing. I love my Eventide Pitch Factor, that has some multiple fx combinations. I generally have reverb always on and delay. Modulation and pitch fx are used sparingly. One preset in the Eventide Pitch Factor gives me Giant Reverb and pitch fx. One even has a fuzz in it with a bass pitch fx. I love tremolo fx.
You just need to buy a Core and can use all your algos (edit: all algos you already got with your existing H9) with it. edit: You got a H9 max and a Core and can use them as if they were two max.

Brilliant demo! Thanks!
I haven't played that tune for a good long while! Think I'll get into Trower Again! Thanks to for sharing brother! Be Well Leon!
Just found you on the H9 page. Love your demo! Thanks for going deep into the options. Just subscribed!
Thanks so much! If there's anything you'd like me to cover let me know.
I LOVE MY H9.
great unit
Thanks to Sir Leon sales of the H9 take off! Hope you are getting compensated!
That envelope control of the speed is really something.
Really great info - love your relaxed style :-)

Leon, this is why I subscribe!!!
Much appreciated dude!

Armageddon rigs! I like it.
I have two of these maxed, love them, I’m a bit of a tone freak.🕊🏴❤️

The eventide effects are awesome. If I didn't own an Axefx I'd just get two of these and use them for everything.
Have an axe fx but the h9 does so much cool stuff that I’m considering it lol

@@LeonTodd I assume to work with your axe fx you throw the pedal into IO 3 or 4 of the axe and insert those blocks into your layouts?
@@JoeHeisler yep, easy to keep it patched in and place it wherever you like in any given preset.
What color is that guitar? Me likes the color very much
Excellent!

Some serious forward thinking with these algorithms.

I don’t need one, but every time I watch this video, I wish that I had one.
I know Im pretty randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to stream new series online ?

This a univibe patch?
It's a harmonic trem, which can be made to sound a little like a vibe

Ahhhh. The tone of Sighs.
Which eventide haitch9 is this?
Haitch9maaaaaacks
this type of truss rod kind of creeps me out. reminds me of an outie belly button
Yep, the bullet truss rods usher always struck me as an oddity. Great analogy!
Mmmm, harmonic trems.
