@p71c1 Thanks for all of the help! I learned to stack dimes and then made the pedal. It's great! The car drives. I used a 3650. For the firewall bracket, I used 1/4" steel plate and cut it into something resembling the peninsula of Florida, then drilled a few holes into it before welding on a top mounting plate. The clutch pedal was traveling too far up, so I used some scrap 1/4" to make a return stop, non adjustable. Per your recommendation, I made a gas pedal adapter from 1/4" steel. It was 3 pieces cut to shape using cardboard as a template. It's sturdy and it actually moved the pedal back a little. My let always got still from the stock mount keeping the gas pedal too close to the seat. Thanks to your videos and PNW car mods, the wiring took 30 minutes. Dead simple. I used a Marty tune and 3.27 gears for economy. The car has pretty stock feeling pull on this setup, so far as 0-60 is concerned. I can always drop in some 4.10's when my budget is unlimited and cars are but a mere buffet. With my pisant luck though, I got the only lemon tr-3650 in all of Virginia. This thing is absolutely terrible. The third gear synchro is non existant, countershaft and main bearings are worn to oblivion, and 5th gear rattles and clacks while cruising. Total garbage. I can't imagine what the last guy must have done to it, so I'm out $500. But hey, maybe I'll save to get a reman and use this piece of garbage as a core return. I think most returns are $400 credit. Then I'll have a new car, one can only hope. I plan on adding an aluminum typhoon manifold to eliminate the leaking coolant problem forever. I want to replace all plastic bits with metal, so this car will live and drive for 50 years if it doesn't hit a deer first.
Just found your channel as I was researching how to manual swap my 2011 CVPI in the future. It does seem like the hydraulic kit is much superior to staying with a cable especially with how easy the pedal install is. A couple questions I had were 1) Is there no hydraulic throw out bearing that would fit and eliminate the slave cylinder/fork assembly? Seems like that might be a big improvement. 2) For easy installation of the firewall stiffener plate I would weld mounting studs onto the plate that poke thru to the engine side and, drill a third small hole to temporarily secure the plate from the inside as an anti rotation device. This way on person installation becomes much easier. Any reasons you can see not to mod that? Thank you for such a detailed video. Too many others I watched skip over the detail steps and don’t show adjustments etc.
:) Great, now I want to go Hydraulic on my car .. maybe when I get the Godzilla swap done (Moving the the T56 whith that swap . The cable clutch on my T45 about lifts my out of the seat (With the Centerforce it was a monster) ..I put a regular ford heavy duty clutch/pressure plate and it's much better, but still stout.. can't wait to go hydralic, looks like a nice clean setup.
Why not tack weld the bolts on to the bracket for the master cylinder? That way you are not fighting the bolts trying to fall back into the car when you are installing the nuts on the master cyl...and they are not turning when you are trying to tighten them...
@@p71c1 I saw your account with you but race one ok you know one with him race with the old Caprice or Buick or like that Fleetwood I need very very much
Great brother. Thank you. That installation just showed me how easy it is to install the hydro kit. I've been waiting for your video. Now I am ready to do a manual swap on my 03' Vic. When you did the 5.4l swap did you have to modify the a/c box? Or anything else or did it pretty much drop in place?. Thank you. I look forward to more videos.
Howdy! Are you still selling the old style pedal kits? I really don't want a hydraulic unit. I'm looking to go cable on this install. It's my first time putting a 5 speed in a vic. I have money and will pay. Thanks for the help!
I made a pedal like you showed by welding the clutch assembly from a Mustang onto the Vic brake pedal frame, but I have encountered a slight snaggle. When I try to install the pedal assembly, the gas pedal gets in the way of the quadrant. Do i have to make a new mount for the gas pedal? It's a 2008 drive by wire vic.
I realized after I installed my kit that they sent me a neutral safety switch that was normally closed instead of normally open but a simple Painless wiring brand neutral safety switch from Summit solved that problem
I have an 04 Grand Marquis and still have completely stock power pedals. Does this mount up to the stock pedals, or do I need to modify the brake and gas pedal before this will work?
@@p71c1 Gotcha. Thanks. Mine is actually a 78 F100 swapped onto the Grand Marquis frame so it's a custom application and the power pedals aren't even hooked up anymore. I will look for a non-power pedal assembly from a crown vic.

do these kits come back in stock regularly? im buying my p71 back soon and wanting to do a manual swap but see they are out of stock on the pedal kits

yes you need to get the gas pedal out of the way . There are several ways to do it depending if you have a welder or not.
Looks great.
Thank you :)

Are there any updates on the pedal leverage point change?
By any chance are you selling some of them welded intake manifolds?
