Thank you so much for this tutorial, I know a little bit about soldering, but you can never know enough. When I saw you last, I could not stop looking at your aquamarine ring and my brain wanted to know more about it. You are so thorough in your presentation, I will continue to get more from you as we go. Again thank you, your new aquamarine ring is magnificent!!!. 🙏🏼
Soooo.....I followed your tutorial and I made my own! I've never done anything like it before. Thank you so much for the video. Your instructions are easy to follow. I can't wait to make more!!!
Thank you so much for showing us how to make this ring. I have a couple of gorgeous cabochons I wanted to use for rings, and now I know how to do it. I always find your videos so helpful.
Yassss thank you! I've made huggie prong rings before but it is always nice to see someone else's method. Even as someone who knows the basics I still learned a couple little tricks to make it easier ❣️
I would like to learn more about the different solders. When you use 65 and then said you might use 70. How would you know what solders to use and when to switch?
Here is a basic soldering kit that includes a torch, but if you don't need all these supplies, you can just do a quick internet search for "jewelry making butane torch" and look for the one made by "Max Flame." it's the exact one Susan uses. Butane is sold separately. www.jtv.com/product/soldering-basics-supply-kit-includes-torch-tweezers-pick-board-paste/JSYT15?mcid=XSOjsyt
That’s awesome tutorial. Just what I was looking for. May I ask what model and size is your jooltool? Seems like a good investment. Thanks again. I love watching your videos I learned a lot from you. I really appreciate you and all that you do. 💕
Hi Mai! The Jool Tool only comes in one size, but you can get two different size of discs. JTV Is sold out of it at the moment, but here is the link to where you can buy it and learn all about it! The creator Anie is a great friend to our channel! jooltool.com/collections/all/products/master-jewelers-kit-1 ENJOY!
I love your tutorials, keep them coming! Just a quick question, if I wanted to just have the stone without the prongs, could it be glued onto the silver setting? Thank you
Probably! We're not sure how well it will hold, but just make sure you get a glue that is rated for jewelry and beads. They're out there and a quick internet search should get you to some. Also, just keep in mind that if you're using a stone that is porous like turquoise, glue can often damage the stone, so best not to use it on anything organic (coral, pearls, turquoise). As always, be careful when using toxic substances. be sure to read and follow the directions carefully! Good luck!

She tells you, and it was on the screen, she used 14 gauge sterling silver wire and she used solder paste - it’s in a tube. You really need to watch the video through to the end.
Thanks Sharon! Yes, it's a 14 gauge sterling silver wire and it's a sterling silver solder paste. She is using a medium temper solder paste since it has a lower melting point. It also includes flux, but she uses spray flux as well to help keep the jewelry clean from fire scale and helps the solder flow into the joint. Thanks to you both for watching!
You're always so clear in your explanations - thanks for this and so many other great tutorials!

Thanks Miss Susan. As always, great instruction. Could you please discuss the best place to purchase the soldering tool (torch).

Hello! It was so useful!! thanks a lot! 🙂👍I really love the ring on your hand!!! Can you tell me the nme of the stone?
This video is great 👍👍...but I also wanted a video on jewelry using soldering rod 🙏

Beautiful
Thanks for the video. Do you have any videos on making brooches?
Not yet, but thanks for the suggestion!
I saw your tutorials alot but never try soldering yet.
Is that possible soldering the regular wrapping wire?
Thanks so much..
You should only solder pure metals including Sterling Silver, Gold and Copper.
Love it wonderful
This is exactly what I want to make. I am a beginner though.
Keep working at it, you'll get there! Check out our Soldering playlist, there are some great beginner videos in it!
How can I buy a ring like this please?
My instructor would have thrown a fit if he saw me solder a ring shank like this but you can bet I’m going to do it now.
Do you have a video of the ring you have one your left hand pointer finger?
Not yet! 😉
Good morning...where do i purchase the soldering kit yore using?

@@JewelSchool ....Thank you!
It’s so strange to me being from Australia that you say sodder instead of soLder i guess it’s the same with Herbs, Americans say Erbs.
Wait you have said nothing about the gauges of metal and wire that you are using. You also did not say whether it is hard solder or medium.
She tells you, and it was on the screen, she used 14 gauge sterling silver wire and she used solder paste - it’s in a tube. You really need to watch the video through to the end.

Why did you use an ugly stone, but you did a great job.
