- When upgrading, Which is the best option to pick
between Freightliner or Peterbilt ?
#primeinc #trucking #peterbilt #freightliner #truckdriver
Had two trainers one in a FL and one in a Pete. Not even close to me lol I'm not taking anything but a Pete or kw
Don’t buy nothing yet. Wait for at least a year or two.
I am sure you have chosen your truck already, but...
Peterbilt has the bigger sleeper... BUT... Most of it is taken by the bigger bed... Freightliner has a smaller bed, but makes better use the space, making it feel bigger, and with considerable better storage... The Pete will be MUCH more comfortable, ESPECIALLY if you ever decide to train, or run team (NOT factoring in how good the OTHER driver is, which is a whole other story).... The difference in the ride of a Pete and a Freight Shaker is MIND BLOWING, especially in the sleeper...
Reliability will be hit and miss, regardless of which way you go... Freightliner will more likely be back on the road faster then a Pete after a break down... Petes are generally built better, and with higher quality, but cost more when something DOES go wrong.... As far as engines go, I prefer Detroit over Paccar... Then again, I would recommend a Caterpillar if they still made them...
One thing I HATE about the Freightliner... The placement of the ladder on the bunk... Constantly hitting my head on that thing... Peterbilt is out of the way, at least... Better then that swing out table in the Kenworths though.... Great when you're using it, but ALWAYS in the way, otherwise... Not that you need to worry about that... Last I knew, there are not too many KWs in Prime's fleet anyway...
Most important when deciding on a truck...Don't settle for a truck you don't LOVE, even if it means going company until they have a better selection...
You're not lying about bumping your head on the ladder.
Good job slimpack you go girl
Keep in mind if your purchasing it cost,MPG and maintenance cost after your done
I drive an International Lt I got a 23 during upgrade. I went lease
I would say go with a Pete, you already drove a freightliner. What type of engine do the Pete comes with?
Don’t lease go company or you might lose you shirt.
I have driven freightliner Pete and Volvo Pete’s are smooth riding trucks the freightliner has a better turn radius but it’s because they have a shorter well base both are ok as far as reliability goes I’d try to get a Pete with a Cummins (red motor) not a huge fan of paccar ( black motor) but I’ve heard some people love em my best has been a Pete with a Cummins and the dd15 in the freightliner
Don't get a truck now. Stay company. Save up 30000 before buying. See if you can get a loan through a bank. Get your credit score up. Use 10000 for a down payment. Use that 20000 for your expenses. If you bring home 5000, just pay yourself 1500 and put the rest with that 20000
Make your ride sweet and get a Pete lol. All trucks break down just do your pretrips to catch any problems before it leaves you stranded. It’s not if your gonna break down it’s when. It’s all part of the experience, enjoy the process.
Most of the comments don't get to the real nuts and bolts of choosing one over the over. Here's a few basic things that should be on a checklist for potential new truck owners:
1) Annual maintenance costs & warranty coverages
2) Engine reliability, performance & specifications
3) Build quality from top to bottom
4) Ergonomics, aerodynamics & fuel economy
5) Access to parts & service points 24/7 for unscheduled maintenance
6) Maneuverability in tight spaces
7) Interior space & comfort
Add other things of importance for you with this checklist and the truck you should get will standout.
I wish you much success now and moving forward Truck Driver.
Well explained
I agree with your comment if you're going to be living in the truck everything you suggested is good
This is well explained and make sure you know your truck and the lane you running makes a difference as well …
Thanks for the details
Umm we did go over thiis… Nice comment tho…
You are a good student, and he is a good trainer.👍
I’d say stick with the freightliner cause you already familiar with it in case something goes sour.
21:10 I’m CRYINGG LMAOAOAOAOAOOO. But anyway, the frieghtliners are definitely the way to go.. more parts are available and always in stock when it comes to those because many people have them.
Detroit turbo replacement vs Cummins replacement look up those two prices and that’s just the start Detroit parts are just as available and they are significantly cheaper
Freightliner . because . u can fix them almost anywhere . parts cheaper . and u can get the parts anywhere. freightliner is like nissan and honda . in cars . they are not pretty . but very reliable. than peterbil or kenword. but its all up to u . good luck and congratulations. all the best .
Im Gonna go company for like 3months the lease 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Not saying don’t do a lease purchase but make sure you do a lot of research, because freight is very slow rn.
Anybody know about the missing prime driver that been missing for almost a month and prime beeing silent about it.
Thanks for explaining that VAGA meaning 😂 now it totally makes sense
Fright has more space plus the new kw n Peter has a bad dash board sometimes
You upgrading now thats whats up queen I wanna see you in that CASCADIA :)
Period
Can’t wait to see what truck you get into. Great vid as always 💚💚🔥💯
My picture this wishful thinking for you is a large car Pet sadly isn't possible in today's business world. Every brand comes with a long list of pro's and cons you know what your doing . Maintenance /repairs qualified honest support shop's are top of the list. Have a most wonderful day!!!
Most drivers want to drive the best and the Peterbilt is a better tractor, better built and better ride, a freightliner can't compare. Downside the Pete does not turn as well as the Freightliner, the passenger compartment is very small and the parts are expensive. So just like you stated, the Freightliner has a large Sleeper which make You feel like your not in a small place ( for the times when you are out for long periods of time).Myself, I chose the Freightliner over the Pete because 1st i am buying used and when I start I don't want to have to worry about parts being to high and I like that the Freightliner has a big sleeper. It is just your preference.
Yes they do iam in one Right now a slime pack slide them tandems Right there in the Road where u and storming Norman park at closing them chorme doesss there baby Ok ND I LIKE YOUR SREAD BACK THERE MAMA U LOOK GOOD H Ha Ha Ha
I’ve heard the Freightliners are more dependable. However, the Peterbilts are more of a comfortable ride 🤷🏽♀️
Also wanted to note that the New Gen Pete 579's have a 72 and 80 inch Sleeper option. Idk what Prime has but I would hope they would go for the 80, but most Mega Carriers are cheap asf. Either way which ever one keeps you with a check each week is the best truck to be in. Every truck has its issues, but all manufacturers produce a diamond in the ruff every 1 out of 50 trucks. They produce.
@Thatguy_29 I was hoping so because Prime has always been big on being uniform with fully loaded trucks.
One main difference is how they unhook...freightliners unhook much easier. .petes are sometimes a pain to unhook
I trained in Freightliner, but ended up with a pete...its gonna be hard to go back to a freightliner
A new truck, either and ur not making payments!
Peterbilt because you already had a frieghtliner I think u should test drive both of them beautiful
Get the FreightShaker. The Pete is dope athletically, but the turning radius is trash.
freightliner white
Num almost finished with my tnt for prime but I still have trouble backing, but lookin how good u got im proud of u and I wish I would've seen u on the road or at the terminal I definitely would've sang to u lol💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Otw to Salt lake terminal now 😂
Freightliner STAY AWAY from Paccar!
Go with the freight liner they are better trucks☺️
Can you do a video on detention pay? How often are y’all stamping bills for detention pay? What’s your process and do you actually see it on your (Norman’s) check?
Hey sis I was wondering what kinda music do you listen to when you're rolling. Also ur doing a great job and have good videos.
As someone that has driven both, I say Pete. Just keep in mind, Pete is slightly longer so it needs a little more room for backing.
Only if we all can have that problem, what to decide to drive.
The truck that has a DD or Cummins engine. By "upgrade" I hope you don't mean "lease."
I keep thinking about my next lease if I should get the Pete or FL but I’m thinking the small refrigerator is definitely a deal breaker for me. I think It’s going to make me spend more money on truck stop food.
Yes definitely! I hate that small fridge space
I would go with a cascadia because im familiar with it … but its your choice
If I Already Have My Cdl Do I Go Straight Into My TNT Phase?
Yes after 3 days of orientation
Get that freightliner it’s worth it . Plus it’s brand new.
Congratulations Queen you deserve it 👸
I love my Peterbilt 23 hella room drives great
Freightliner has more space in the interior, but I choose the peterbilt 💯
That KW is different
Peterbilt
get the one where you can get out in the back if you need to.
💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Get you a freightliner, very reliable engine and really good on fuel.
Take the Pete. It rides beter then the frieghtliner
Get freightliner
Big fan 😜 love you 😘 keep it up
Get a Freightliner that you are used to driving
Pete way more comfortable smooth ride
Will you eventually switch to tanker?
Pete
When and where can we purchase your merch??
Freightliner all day baby........just signed my freightliner lease like an hour ago
Pete rides and drive alot better
They all slow 😂😂😂 lease or company
I'd get Peterbilt
Brand new trucks can come with all kinds of issues and defects. They’re also more expensive to lease with a longer commitment for the end of lease bonus. If you signed a lease on a 2 year old truck and ran for a year you’ll have about $10k end of lease bonus and you’ll save about $5200 in lower lease payments. That’s an extra $15k in your first year. In a year you’d have enough extra money to order a brand new lease purchase.
This is exactly what I’m doing now
That’s all fine in theory until you find yourself inheriting someone else’s problem and you have been in it long enough to really build up an emergency fund. I have 2023 Volvo that has been nothing but a headache since it’s first oil change. Once my new Pete comes in I’m turning it in. So the issues I’m having with it will transfer to the new driver that takes that truck over. I wish them all the luck in the world with it but this truck has tainted my view of Volvo trucks forever.
Freightliner
Don't get a truck now. Stay company. Save up 30000 before buying. See if you can get a loan through a bank. Get your credit score up. Use 10000 for a down payment. Use that 20000 for your expenses. If you bring home 5000, just pay yourself 1500 and put the rest with that 20000
Peterbilt Is More reliable
Slime out here making the vets look like rookies slime be killing ish every time
😂😂Im just learning
Great videos
Idk just depends on space wise 😂
Peterbilts are more comfortable
Love the Pete. Upgraded about a month ago and I did my 50k in a Freight! Best choice I’ve Mande. Digital dash! More room.. doesn’t shake like the freight! Thank me later.
😂😂
I’ve heard that digital dash goes out a lot
Get the pete

Go with the Pete. Much more smoother ride. The Peterbuilt doesn’t turn as quickly as the Freightliner when backing up
💜
Use really need Mike's so we can hear use wen use talking to each other😮
That Pete is so nice looking! The freight liner is boring as heck. I would go with a Peterbilt!

I driven international trucks no longer on road Peterbilt is the better truck between Freightliner n Pete's take Pete's
Congratulations to you that hard work paid off you and Norman will make a great team
I’m familiar with freight! They get the job done 😎
Get a Pete! There’s less wait time at the shop for warranty work.
I liked the freightliner better, but everyone is saying the Peterbilt is better

Get that Pete baby
~Zeke Dawg~
If the Pete has Paccar & not Cummins then avoid, & go Freightliner…
Last I heard, Prime only runs Paccar in Peterbilts... Maybe they have changed...
@@js3599 Freightliner it is.. Paccar engine is garbage…
