16 year veteran here. Best advice is take your time. Don’t drive faster than your comfortable with. Don’t get tickets that’s completely preventable. You may hit things in the beginning just learn from it. Good job being thorough in training and taking it seriously by taking notes and such. Good luck

@@electricbird423forester9 sometimes you get in bad situations. Try to prevent though as much as possible. I think the job itself is simple
But inclement weather and night driving can be mentally stressful. Wind can be physically tiring as well bc you’re fighting the wheel all day. You have to be smarter than others around you bc you are the professional.

The driver can effect fuel milage by 35%. Mine improved by 1.5 mpg not using cruise control and not slamming down on the pedal. If you improve your MPG by 1 mpg it will save you between $10,000 and $15,000 a year at today's prices.

@@tiktokfavorite3070 Fuel is an owner operator biggest expense by far. Believe what you must and spend more on fuel. Cruise control is ok if on flat ground. When you hit a hill it kicks in full to get you back to speed. I have tested keeping constant pressure on the pedal saves fuel.
