Enjoyed the video. Key to being able to come off the road for long stretches is: 1. No consumer debt. 2. No mortgage. How do you get there? Sacrifice. Frugality. Money should buy us 2 things: Freedom of Time and Freedom of Opportunity. The book The Simple Path to Wealth by JL Collins and the Financial Independence Retire Early (F.I.R.E.) movement pointed us in the right direction. More power to you.
Yea I’m really learning that because my trainer ain’t teaching me nothing but we run like crazy so I’m hesitant to upgrade but I’m starting to realize there’s no amount of time or perfect time to upgrade just gotta take my time and learn as I go
This was a great video. It’s all about financial literacy, proper management and budgeting. As you said, everyone has a different situation and life. Do what works for you. Have a fantastic home time. Stay safe out there💚
"You're absolutely right. It really comes down to your budget. As a driver, the key is what you bring home after covering all your expenses. The question is whether you're making sufficient profit to meet expenses, handle personal bills, and have extra for both needs and wants."
Good suggestions but the main thing anyone should be doing is budgeting. One thing she has quoted on numerous occasions she very frugal and she budgets her Starbucks.
Peace of mind resource management. You manage time and money in a way that allows you to do the things that are important to you. You love your family and love being around them, and leasing with Prime INC allows you to do that -- the peace of mind part. Jasmine, you will continue to do well, because you are a thinker and a planner. Most people mean well, and are telling you things that they believe can help you-but not everyone. You stay true to who you are. I love watching your videos, but I do get confused sometimes. A couple of days ago I commented on video where you said your were leaving from Loredo TX. I was happy thinking you were close to San Antonio but you were still in South Dakota. God bless you and continue keeping you safe. ❤
I was responding to a comment i saw on an older video, but I thought the video was current. Jasmine has picked up loads coming from Mexico through the port at Loredo TX before.
Some of the commenters who are getting their CDL to start driving should also take some business courses. A lot of people are equating personal finance to business finance. Fearing the lease option because you think you will never own the truck leads to poor business decision-making. A truck lease is not a car loan where the goal is to own the car at the end of the term. Or you believe you overpaid for the truck once you eventually own it. In business, a lease payment is a business expense that reduces your tax liability. What you pay yourself as a salary is a business expense that reduces your tax liability. You want to lease that truck as long as you can. As a driver, forget about ownership. Lowering taxes helps you more than owning the truck ever will. If you want to own trucks, then start a trucking company. That is where owning trucks pays off. When you own trucks, you focus on sales, dispatching, load management, and logistics. You now have revenue from the loads that pay drivers, make loan payments, meet insurance premiums, and cover maintenance and repairs. That is a different business model than just driving. So, make decisions in the proper context and know how business works.

I used to watch this channel (and a few others) alot and thus almost chose to go with Prime to turn my permit into the actual CDL license through them. I do not know Jasmine's situation, but I do know that many youtubers use their earnings from THIS platform to help with their finances. While the pay from Prime may be ok, it isn't what it SHOULD be and the argument of "is leasing with them worth it" is not one I wish to start. I respect the fact that Jasmine always says to "do what works for you" because that's truly what it's about. *Read the contracts and get a clear understanding of what you are signing and agreeing to*.
I know jasmine is so financially wealthy and responsible I can’t wait to get my next job so I can manage my money like this and be hard working and disciplined and focused

After being 10+years OTR as a company driver I'm ready to go to the next level. As a driver that goes home every month and a half to two months at a time, you think I can do well at Prime as an L/O?
Hey!! I love your videos. I’m graduating from my CDL class next month. I can’t wait to get on the road. I applied to prime. How long were you with them before you started to lease?
When I was with Dart I thought about leasing but heard when you lease you really don’t “own” the truck. You’re pretty much just paying off the truck for the company. Is that true?
Few truck drivers are businessmen or women. I can see from the comments very little knowledge. EVERY COMPANY LEASES THEIR EQUIPMENT., BUILDINGS, ETC Why? The new regulations prohibit old equipment emissions. Tax advantages. They own some things but a it’s a balance. Business is numbers This lady knows her stuff and people should listen more and talk less. That’s all…
As a lease driver, do you get a W-2, 1099 with your deductions, or do you have to calculate your taxes at the end of the year? Do you need an accounting service to figure out your deductions like an owner operator?
If is not a lease to own then I really don’t see the point of leasing a truck and throwing so much money into a truck that will never be yours, at that point you might as well just be a company driver. Sorry just my opinion
If you run a business, don't you lease a building that you would never own. Not everyone has dreams of owning a truck just running a business for a few years...just saying.
Extra freedom and running your truck without the micro management. Depends on the company but some those perks plus the increased rate normally while running a lease and a lease completion bonus makes it worth while. As well it’s like dipping your toe in before buying a 200k truck and falling on your face because you don’t know how to take care of ifta, llc taxes etc
You have more to cover than your truck payment! Taxes! Federal,State if applicable,Social Security,Road use tax! Why are there no truckers on you tube that have advice on how to set up their taxes! Owner operators,Lease operators, Truckers with their own authority none of them explain how they handle taxes!!!
