I find it really hard to close distance with kabal when the opponent is zoning. I might be doing something wrong, but as much as I play Kabal, I pretty much lose as soon as they get full screen and I can't find a fix
Ryan patience is your friend in that case, I have the same issue but if they do a safe string and d1 after and you blocked you could down one after that or grab, same with Jax
@@briancalixx usually I'll go for the f4 + L1 string since it's one of the quickest startups in the game but I'm really losing damage by doing so. Sometimes I just gamble it and dash hoping they'll fall for it and it usually works 40% of the time Lol
I bought MK11 recently and I can’t understand what’s so op about Kabal. He’s always safe (best thing about him I think ) and has some ok mixups + a good projectile but idk why ppl consider him stronger than characters like Skarlet, Jade, Scorpion or Baraka. Some help pls?

I play kano and its a perfect description. U don't think with him and just throw random shit. I play Johnny and it's it's like frame traps and plus strings while kano is the yolo character. I also like his anti zoning with forward 3 and veggie mighty
I feel like Shang is strong and definitely above mid tier but maybe low A. Tech has not been discovered and no one understands the matchup yet. He has tons of gals and his specials are full combo punishable if you know what you are doing.

I also main Kano, and that man absolutely dominates up close combat. He makes up for his predictability with being able to get 20-24% combos in like 4 hits (Evil Glee variation) haha. AND his amped Kano ball is a great response to zoners

idk, i have a much harder time dealing with errons overhead shenanigans than i do cassie or sonya. sonyas got th 50/50 but thats it, if you lock in on it and get in her head shes done. but erron can mix up that over head string in so many ways its crazy.
Angel Irbin yeah but her dmg is too high along with geras the fact that you can do a combo that does like 39% almost half your health and is dumb easy to hit btw is crazy I do agree she can have trouble getting in but if you put the turret move in her move set she's pretty viable and can make you think twice about zoning her. Her mixups are really nice but can be punished if predicted right, not like erron which only gets punished for doing a slide. I main erron been maining him since X and don't really like how everyone's using him and abusing his back 2 mix up
I feel like Jade is SERIOUSLY underappreciated, she seemingly has it all. Good zoning, good anti zoning, decent damage, air control and the most amazing range.
Martien van den Broek people also fail to realize that you can play pretty aggressive with her too. The back 3 string ends with the plus kick that's flawless blockable so u can stagger or you can use ex glave which is also plus. Ex glave can be ducked on the second hit but if they're waiting on that you can start throwing, poking, finishing the string and ur plus, or looping it. It becomes a mind game so she can actually pressure you on top of zoning. Very underrated
Scott larock an 11 frame mid is actually pretty good for a mid. Her back 2 is also relatively fast and has range. They are both not reactable. And those are the main strings u use up close.
Wanye Kest I agree with this. I usually use the zoning variation but I chose the pole vault on accident and still won just by playing aggressive(ranked vs scorpion). She’s good. But she’s not cheesey, cheap, broken high tier. She’s not the easiest to learn, and everyone has better combos than you. But she’s good if you really want to learn her
Eddy Metal by normal i mean that after putting the input noob and scorpion have to commit its mainly for offense because u can be punished but characters like raiden, scarlett and cetrion can use teleport and still remain safe

Jalen Clips it’s easier to react to sub zero’s overhead offline than online, most of these tier lists are based on offline play. Sub Zero benefits a lot from online and is definitely A tier online.
Black Vegeta i agree bro , sub-zero’s 50 50’s are so hard to react to in game and from those 50 50’s he gets a shit ton of damage. also he can beat any projectile with his deep freeze variation. not the best in the game but definitely top 5

I'm so happy I've been working with Kabal lately after being a Kang main so long. The only thing I'll say about this list is people are sleeping a little on kitana and Kollector in the right hands those two could be a problem imo. If anyone is looking to train together lmk would lo be to work with anyone here!
This is actually one of the best MK11 tier lists out there if not the best. The only thing I would change is put Jax a little higher; his stagger game is absolutely ridiculous. I would also put Johnny above Kitana; he does have a safe forceball that can catch people not blocking after his strings, which results in a strong stagger game. Other than that, this is a solid tier list. 9.5/10
The game is quite weird at the mo, that not many characters have both nice variations to use. MKX has better variations (more variety and feasible) than MK11's tournament variations. At least two out of three per character are good in MKX.
@@musicislife9825 because she's an elder God she's supposed to be powerful. I think her damage is lacking as well but I can't say for sure since I rarely ever see anyone use her. My best advice to you is if you lose to her, just go to a different person. You have a 90% chance of playing scorpion, but hey at least it isn't broken cetrion right?
I completely agree with this statement. Have fun with your character, sometimes a bad character might get in the way, but nothing a patch and some practice wont fix. LowTierGod exists for a reason lol
I think kombat won cuz he has really good movement. He only did Johnnys bread and butter and for some reason it worked on sonic. Sonic lost most of his games to kombat zoning. His zoning. He out zoned someone with scud shot. Wtf

Down 1 i was agreeing with you. That he was referring to non-attack teleports and I was throwing Noob out there as another air tp character that auto attacks. However on second consideration Scorpion can technically teleport cancel in his weaker variation so he’s not entirely wrong
I’d put both Raiden and Kung lao over noob saibot. Although noob does hit like an elder god I’m never really getting opened up by him unless my opponent is playing super unsafe.
I wish people would realize noob isn't very good until he gets you in a combo. KL has really good pressure and staggers but his combos are extremely unsafe on block and very slow
These tier lists aren’t for kasual players... it’s all in regards to pro level matchups. Cetrion excels when you know how to use her, but she’s pretty weak online and such if you haven’t mastered her archetype
Tis a sad time when as a shang tsung main, Sonya can out zone you with rings as she seems to not have any cooldown. This game really needs a patch haha

@@vshuwn18 How's he delusional? Sonya is stronger than Erron. 50/50 every single time she closes in on you. Great pressure, 50/50 FB strings, great zoning, and thats just the tip of the iceberg. This character can and will do at least 32% meterless if given the opportunity.
How is Frost so far down? She has amazing tools and if you're a good player, these can be put to use effectively. Yeah, she needs a buff but only in terms of speed imo. Lower her starting frames and her recovery so not almost every single string is punishable.
Can you do a Tier List not based on the Tournament Variations? I bet it would be MUCH different. I do not play Ranked and prefer to use my own custom variations.

I think Cassie's getting way overrated tbh. I would never put her above Erron, Geras, or Sonya. She's probably top 5, but I can't put her higher than 4 when she has decent damage at best, one of the worst fatal blows in the game, and she has literally 0 corner combos that come off anything but B13, which you should never get hit by. She has ridiculous midscreen game, and her neutral is absurd, but she isn't oppressive.
Her Down 2 has no range and is super punishable. Her wake up attacks are worthless. Up 2 the worst and up 3 has no range. She has no lows in the middle of any of her strings. If You block down on the first hit and then stand block and she'll never touch you. And this dude is saying she's better than Sonya and Geras??? People who believe that have never touched Cassie.

Johnny is just underrated tbh, he has a strong stagger game with his safe forceball (he has a safe projectile ffs) which he can either do or not do, and the opponent will have to guess, if they release block after blocking a string they get hit by the forceball, and if they don't, he can continue staggering/pressuring them. He's also the *only* character in the game who can cancel his super and get combos off the cancel.
I agree with all of it. It's just a lot of low tier characters have some form of anti zoning and launchers which makes them viable. Like kotal khan bottom 5 but I can beat high tier characters with him all the time with his mid screen pressure and his anti zoning cat from. I say kotal biggest weakness is his best moves are two different variations. U can't have both.

I feel Jacqui should be 3 or 4.. Her cancel game will confuse the best players. The problem is people are not playing her that way. I was destroying people in MKX with Takeda's cancels and he did it off of 1 string.. Jacqui can cancel like 4 or 5 strings along with other mixup options. She is deadly, just in the right hands.

Liu Kang is solid because he's good against most people. Besides Jade and Kabal anyhow...i would recommend him but Sub is good too, he just has more matchups that can outperform him than Kang. However I'll be sticking to Raiden because I enjoy the freedom I have with him and the mindgames lol.
All these hitbox issues are by design? Raiden has this problem too against female characters and how they fall when they're juggled ;( it limits his damage against them a lot, his Storm Cell isn't safe on hit (against crouchers), his b12 isn't safe on block, and if you cancel it into his teleport, that can be punished too if anticipated. He needs a lot of meter to do decent damage.
Not really. Johny has a bunch of flaws. His hitbox issues with female characters, very poor Krushing Blows, alot of specials are actually pretty useless, his tournament variations aren't that great, most of his nuetrals are high, no mix-ups, and hard to pull off brutalities.
No the video right. Johnny main thing is frame traps and he's has to be close to do that and shadow kick is super risky as a get closer move. I feel like for Johnny, it's frame trap or die. Also he has no real krushing blows. The only way to do damage is either by chip or nut punch launcher and that's it.
Honestly liu kang is most the overrated charactet in the game. I main him and i cant find a way to play him instead of other characters. 17f projectile one of the slowest in the game. The f4 stagger is -7 very easy to poke out id expect on reaction while cassie has a zero and jaquis is -2. Flawless blocking the whole string shuts him down completely since you can block the up3 he is punishable. You can block the low fireball he is punishable. Even if he stops just in f43 and you are preparing to block something he is still -7 giving you plenty of time to react to anything. His 12 is good but gets shutdown if you play a female or johnny. So you have a character that gets all his mixups shutdown if you block correctly and easily react even online and the thing he can do is throw you. Seems very good to me kappa. I know the pros make him seem good even i have a good ranked placement playing just with him but you cant say he is good. If you took the top tiers out of the game suddenly this game is the most balanced game ever but the day 1 patch nerfed a lot of good characters and left sonya cassie geras etc. Unchanged.

Jalen Clips it’s easier to react to sub zero’s overhead offline than online, most of these tier lists are based on offline play. Sub Zero benefits a lot from online and is definitely A tier online.

The only thing I'll say about this list is people are sleeping a little on kitana and Kollector in the right hands those two could be a problem imo. This is actually one of the best MK11 tier lists out there if not the best.
The only thing I would change is put Jax a little higher; his stagger game is absolutely ridiculous. I would also put Johnny above Kitana; he does have a safe forceball that can catch people not blocking after his strings, which results in a strong stagger game.
Other than that, this is a solid tier list. 9.5/10

The game is quite weird at the mo, that not many characters have both nice variations to use. MKX has better variations (more variety and feasible) than MK11's tournament variations. At least two out of three per character are good in MKX.

These tier lists aren’t for kasual players... it’s all in regards to pro level matchups. Cetrion excels when you know how to use her, but she’s pretty weak online and such if you haven’t mastered her archetype

How is Frost so far down? She has amazing tools and if you're a good player, these can be put to use effectively. Yeah, she needs a buff but only in terms of speed imo. Lower her starting frames and her recovery so not almost every single string is punishable.

I think Cassie's getting way overrated tbh. I would never put her above Erron, Geras, or Sonya. She's probably top 5, but I can't put her higher than 4 when she has decent damage at best, one of the worst fatal blows in the game, and she has literally 0 corner combos that come off anything but B13, which you should never get hit by. She has ridiculous midscreen game, and her neutral is absurd, but she isn't oppressive.
Her Down 2 has no range and is super punishable. Her wake up attacks are worthless. Up 2 the worst and up 3 has no range. She has no lows in the middle of any of her strings. If You block down on the first hit and then stand block and she'll never touch you. And this dude is saying she's better than Sonya and Geras??? People who believe that have never touched Cassie.

Nah tierlists don't mean shit. Player skill will always matter more than what tier there character is. Matchup knowledge is also very important

Johnny is just underrated tbh, he has a strong stagger game with his safe forceball (he has a safe projectile ffs) which he can either do or not do, and the opponent will have to guess, if they release block after blocking a string they get hit by the forceball, and if they don't, he can continue staggering/pressuring them.
He's also the *only* character in the game who can cancel his super and get combos off the cancel.
I use D’Vorah and she’s actually a great character, it boils down to preference and game play style

I agree with all of it. It's just a lot of low tier characters have some form of anti zoning and launchers which makes them viable. Like kotal khan bottom 5 but I can beat high tier characters with him all the time with his mid screen pressure and his anti zoning cat from. I say kotal biggest weakness is his best moves are two different variations. U can't have both.

I feel Jacqui should be 3 or 4.. Her cancel game will confuse the best players. The problem is people are not playing her that way. I was destroying people in MKX with Takeda's cancels and he did it off of 1 string.. Jacqui can cancel like 4 or 5 strings along with other mixup options. She is deadly, just in the right hands.

Liu Kang is solid because he's good against most people. Besides Jade and Kabal anyhow...i would recommend him but Sub is good too, he just has more matchups that can outperform him than Kang. However I'll be sticking to Raiden because I enjoy the freedom I have with him and the mindgames lol.

All these hitbox issues are by design? Raiden has this problem too against female characters and how they fall when they're juggled ;( it limits his damage against them a lot, his Storm Cell isn't safe on hit (against crouchers), his b12 isn't safe on block, and if you cancel it into his teleport, that can be punished too if anticipated. He needs a lot of meter to do decent damage.

Not really. Johny has a bunch of flaws. His hitbox issues with female characters, very poor Krushing Blows, alot of specials are actually pretty useless, his tournament variations aren't that great, most of his nuetrals are high, no mix-ups, and hard to pull off brutalities.
No the video right. Johnny main thing is frame traps and he's has to be close to do that and shadow kick is super risky as a get closer move. I feel like for Johnny, it's frame trap or die. Also he has no real krushing blows. The only way to do damage is either by chip or nut punch launcher and that's it.
Honestly liu kang is most the overrated charactet in the game. I main him and i cant find a way to play him instead of other characters. 17f projectile one of the slowest in the game. The f4 stagger is -7 very easy to poke out id expect on reaction while cassie has a zero and jaquis is -2. Flawless blocking the whole string shuts him down completely since you can block the up3 he is punishable. You can block the low fireball he is punishable. Even if he stops just in f43 and you are preparing to block something he is still -7 giving you plenty of time to react to anything. His 12 is good but gets shutdown if you play a female or johnny. So you have a character that gets all his mixups shutdown if you block correctly and easily react even online and the thing he can do is throw you. Seems very good to me kappa. I know the pros make him seem good even i have a good ranked placement playing just with him but you cant say he is good. If you took the top tiers out of the game suddenly this game is the most balanced game ever but the day 1 patch nerfed a lot of good characters and left sonya cassie geras etc. Unchanged.
