My sister bought it when it was released in the US in 1979. I was 8 and my sister was13 years old. We had a good college radio station and that is how we first heard about them. Despite our ages we absolutely loved this punk, reggae, ska, rock band. My parents loved it and it became one of the many albums we would listen to together as a family, seriously. Great start for the Clash. These are some of their more pop/mainstream hits. If you want to know more about their punk/reggae/ska roots, Spanish Bombs, White Man in Hammersmith Palais, Magnificent Seven, Guns of Brixton...
The Clash had a drummer (Topper Headon) that allowed them to play any style. Jazz, Regae, Ska, Punk, Hard Rock, Big Band, They just fused it all together with in your face lyrics from Mick Jones (the sensitive side) and Joe Strummer (the political side). They made some memorable tracks that the world wasn't ready for.

I totally agree with your comment about if this song came out today. At one time this song was huge. You couldn't not hear it. I'm not a big fan of The Clash but this song is my favorite by them. I'm glad to see that you reacted to some of their other songs as well.
Very good song great live band concert
Great start for the Clash. These are some of their more pop/mainstream hits. If you want to know more about their punk/reggae/ska roots, Spanish Bombs, White Man in Hammersmith Palais, Magnificent Seven, Guns of Brixton...
This is one of my all time favorites. Also a featured song in the first season of Stranger Things
One of my all time favorite bands!
The chorus is the same phrase the lead is singing but in Spanish. This made this song very popular in Mexico in the ‘80s, I remember.
Nice one, Glad to see you going down this route, there is plenty here to get involved in :)
This song is super fun, and it is catchy! One of my favorites by The Clash. Love your reaction.
Ask myself this question often. Love your reactions!
The Clash! Finally! 🙌🏻 Check out their song “Train in Vain!”
Straight to Hell by them is where paper planes is from
That song makes me cry.
It is a favorite of mine.
This Song was HUGE! A Classic!
My Friend, it's been a while since I've seen the channel.. Good to be back. Great band, Great song..👍
This song is timeless. It really could be released in any era and it'd be a banger.
Let me tell ya Jamal. I looked for the right video to say You are an inspiration to me to be a good human. And I love your music choices. Thanks for keeping me company. Your Bro.
