Call the orange van that's over priced items. Buying weapons their ammunitions and explosives nearly leaves you with not enough money to buy anything else. You also have two slots for guns you can't have your assaults rifle with a pistal and a sniper rifle.

When it reaches 200 meters regardless of your location. Police know exactly where you are at all times. Also when Lincoln clay gets shot he stops running then you get shot a second time and die idk why he stops running?.

This is one of the things that I hate in Mafia III, cops in this game were so damn violent & aggresive! These bastards will always try to shoot you to death even if you commit minor offenses (accidentally hit the police cruiser, bumping an officer on the street, loitering on whites only shop, etc.), they will always do drive-by everytime they chase you and to make matters worse they even aim for your car tires too! Which makes it difficult for you to outrun these bastards. Also the cops in this game don't give a shit about the gangsters who were shooting at you, well I know if these cops were paid by Marcanos but even if you finished the game strangely that doesn't change their behavior towards you, they still always prioritize to shoot you to death and they don't give a shit about your gang who were helping you to kill those bastards XD Whatever it is, cops in this game suck balls dude! That's my opinion...

@@ArtseyHayton06 There's a way to make it realistic and still do that. They should for sure maybe beat you up when they bust you. But instantly going for "shoot to kill" is dumb. Yeah, they should react more so to your actions than say a white NPC, but they need to some AI to them. Like say if you're loitering in a white only area, they should come by and club you and drag you out maybe outside of town and leave you there leaving you without much health. That would stay true to the racist tone but make them reasonable.
my favorite thing is using marshall to snipe down one of two officers standing next to each other, the other officer calmly bowing down going "this one's deader than a lobster in butter sauce..."
I encountered a bug recently where a patrol car followed me around even through parking lots and alleys dispite not being wanted at all in that instance, no lights or siren either. It was quite menacing and it actually felt like they were going to give me a ticket. The one that gets attached to your toe if you take a cold nap. They never got out of their car though so bullets dodged?
I only have the demo but when I play that mission where you drive to the bar I just mess around, also, I got to the gas station on the edge of the map and take the gun.

The Police AI were able to arrest NPCs in GTA 4, but Rockstar decided to remove it in GTA 5 and they only ever arrest the player (and only in single player). There was a decent Arrest Mechanic in Mafia 1 and 2, but they just couldn't bother to add one in Mafia 3. Just comes off as kinda cheap TBH.

Hell, if anything they made it out like the New Parish Sheriff’s Department was the one that would’ve actually killed a black person on sight (since it was supposed to be a Sun Down County), but the AI between both police departments is basically the exact same. I know that 1960s police officers were notorious for racism and rough behavior, but even back then they still arrested (and ticketed) black folks so ya can’t really claim that they did it for “Realism”… I mean, it’s not like 100% of every black person who ever did an offense that warrants an arrest or citation in the 1960s was imminent killed on sight by police. As I said, it felt kinda cheap. It was probably easier to just program Police AI to act basically the exact same as standard Enemy AI. Hell, with how rushed the game felt in many other regards I wouldn’t be surprised if they really did just rush the Police AI as well. If they really wanted to make the police act “Realistic” when compared to how actual police acted in the 1960s they would’ve still had an arrest mechanic and just had the police act a lot rougher during the animations (IDK, hit the player upside the head with their radio or something), but shooting the player on sight for sideswiping someone else’s car is in no way “Realistic”. I’d say that a good way to make Police seem realistic would be to have them work with an RNG. Have them still implement traffic laws and have them still pull the player over, but have what they do based on chance. Sometimes they’ll simply give the player a ticket and leave, sometimes they’ll give the player ticket but also make racist remarks while doing it and sometimes they may just decide to arrest the player instead because they “Don’t like the way they are looking at them” (what they do is based off of chance). As I suggest, still keep the arrest mechanic but make the animations involved a lot more rough and abusive. Also, have them still go after enemy AI when the player either… A. Bribes the Police B. Is fighting someone other than Marciano’s men (like the cultists in the DLC) C. Finished the main campaign since Lincoln took Marciano place Lastly, add in a notoriety mechanic. In the very beginning of the game the police will be a lot less aggressive towards the player, but as they continue the game and take out more of Marciano’s men they will be quicker to attack the player. Have it hit a climax once Lincoln kills Remy Duvall and make it so at that point forwards the police will be out to kill Lincoln the moment they get a good look at him (then once Marciano is taken out the notoriety level resets to the lowest level and stays there).
If mafia 4 becomes a thing, they should learn of their mistakes of previous games not just in Police behavior but many other things A small thing, but there are several things throughout the series that are anachronistic like songs and vehicles and some other things
I played the original Mafia on the PS2, never finished it. Would you recommend Mafia III or even Mafia II? I like what I see, Mafia III looks like a underrated gem, almost as good as GTA III.
I guess you could call it like realistic because I don’t know racism or whatever but it really annoys me that everything is shoot to kill I liked how in mafia 2 I would be close to a mission zone and I would accidentally run into someone and I just be able to pay off the cops or pay the speeding fine like not that big of a deal.
I want to say that I understand why the police just open fire on Lincoln, a half-black man compared to the previous two white male protagonists, especially considering the setting, but I still wish there was a more realistic police system like the last two games. The absolute psycho police still feels a bit over the top in a way. I think it would’ve been a great opportunity to have a similar police system, but also create something that fits the time period, like a bit of snarky comments and/or police brutality when Lincoln commits small crimes and gets ticketed/arrested for them.
While I understand your point even arrest was off the chart: e.g. the game overstates some aspects sure but it is by design and MAYBE laziness but I definitely would have enjoyed lincoln being arresticated for no reason if he's e.g. in Frisco Fields

The cop AI sucks in this game. Its no different to fighting another gang. Still the M16 makes light work of them though as long as you are behind cover in an ally. Just mow them down wave after wave in this game. Mafia 1 and 2 is better. The cop AI in GTA V is better than this game. Oh and don't get me started on the sheriffs and deputies in this game. That is just a glorified gang-banger gang with a badge and easy to take out as well. The Vagos and Aztecas even put up more of a fight in GTA San Andreas.

Mafia 3 is pretty flawed and undercooked in many areas, but I honestl still prefer it over Mafia 2 and even over any GTA with the dlc installed. I got the whole game and the season pass for 15 bucks on a sale and I definitely got my money's worth out of it, I can even see myself revisiting it at some point in the future.
