According to lore in the manual of Black Monday, the first game is set in 2002. Also in free roam, the police may chase you if a gang car drives through the area even if neither of you engaged in combat. Regular NPCs will freak out as well.
If I remember correctly, the cops will only give chase if you are on foot and their is a foot officer in the area. If a gang car passes you with only officers in patrol cars, they won't do anything [only applies to free roam of course].
Good video and analysis. This game is really ahead of its time. There are a lot of interesting features. By the way, are you planning to analyze the behavior of the police in the game 171, Just Cause 1-2?
Seeing how easy it is to get cop cars to crash into scenery reminds me of how easy it is to do in The Saboteur. Any interest in doing that game for these videos?
I really want to see a video analysis of police behavior in games such as Just Cause 1 and 2, Saints Row 2, 171 game, The Saboteur, La Noire. There you can find interesting points for analyzing their reactions and behavior
I think it would have been better if the Police AI had of worked on a wanted level. For instance non gun crimes would result in them dragging the player out of the car or they just draw their guns/tazers and then the scene ends with "Arrested" as at the time in the UK. The cops would only use guns in an armed situation. This is more flawed that the cop AI in GTA V is.
Early 2000s UK is always an interesting setting for a car/crime game, there's too many American gangster games tbh, UK is always welcome
Indeed. Other countries deserved their own games with their own gangsters.
Ireland game when
3:36 - "ED concourse, a disturbance by 20 football supporters, any units"

Free roam works weird i guess.
I loved playing this game as a kid, glad it’s getting the attention and a video made on it. Great work on all of your content.
now this is a game I didnt expect to see in your channel
Your videos are so good, congratulations on the high quality content!
UK GTA Fans:"What would GTA be like in the UK?"
Getaway:"Coming through..."
I would like to see police behavior analysis on the old Saints Row games.

Very good video. One thing though you forgot to mention is that if you keep reversing with the camera spun around, no cops or gang cars spawn.
The getaway black Monday next please
I wonder why some of the car lanes are demarcated with squiggly lines.
Do the Black Monday next
I mean, they unawarness might be balanced by the no mini-map given to the player
Just like GTA London
Another masterpiece of video.

It seems a good game. I didn't know this game existed.
Just imagine... when Grand Thefy Auto 6 comes out... the police will probably be the most realistic in all of gaming ever! ❤
Hey, can you make an analysis on NFS Rivals or Unbound cops?
Their behavior is pretty basic
Cor, doesn't this take you back

He's back with a another great video! never played personally, but it's a good game in London instead of Watch Dogs Legion!
Love your vids man, could you also analyse the sequel?
