    I’m doing a 5 spoke aluminum wheel from a Chevy 08 Suburban. One guy said they were made from cheap aluminum and not to expect a bright shine. But after stripping the clear coat I could really see a difference even before polishing. But I did use a Mother’s. Aluminum polish with a Mikita side polisher with a wool pad. I would like to try one of the cotton and stick compound combos. Do you have a store I can buy the attachments I need or what you suggest to use. Thanks friend. Your work really helps others. You will be rewarded for helping. Thanks

    Like the idea of being able to spin wheel. What is on the back of that apparatus to stop it from falling off?

    I can't believe your polishing at 600 grit, I polished my rims to 3000 and used mequires aluminum polish and its dull and still has sanding marks< I have a lot to learn it appears

    • @Owenwilsonsnose386
      @Owenwilsonsnose386 2 года назад

      Most buffs cut out 400 sand marks. 3000 smooths out the pores too much = less light refraction = less shine

    Aweome vid Kob! Do you ever do a secondary cut or you find the 2 step does the trick? Will straight varsol work for the spray down?

    • @koboriginals7085
      @koboriginals7085  5 лет назад +2

      Hey thank you. Yes varsol will work but I find is a little stickier residue than mineral spirits. I personally dont do secondary cut unless I'm into stainless or the odd thing that I think may help . But I truly dont think its needed. That's my opinion

    Thank you for this steps and the whole video, can you tell me what is the type of pad that you stick sand paper on it and using on polishing machine? Foam one or smth else? Thank you

    • @koboriginals7085
      @koboriginals7085  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you.. I think what your asking about is the backing pad? And we also use a interface pad (basicly a sponge in between sand paper and backing pad

    • @Labud9193
      @Labud9193 5 лет назад

      @@koboriginals7085 Yeah, I didn't know the exact name, backing pad and interface pad, who allows sand paper to go thru different angles when you sanding. Thank you.

    • @koboriginals7085
      @koboriginals7085  5 лет назад +1

      Yea it's a interface pad. It will be available at sinistershineshop.com I've just talked to them and they are revamping their website. Should be up within this week .

    Why do people say it's bad to sand in a circle, on aluminum wheels?

    • @koboriginals7085
      @koboriginals7085  4 года назад

      Who said that ?? And what do you mean by sand in a circle? Rotary sanding ?

      @@koboriginals7085 I was always told to go with the lip when sanding.

    • @koboriginals7085
      @koboriginals7085  4 года назад +1

      Well it's up to you but its is best to make a patern . Making a patern with the lip will work good . The patern is to make sure you cover all basis evenly
