Fun fact, I think that the gunpod is called paddan in swedish, it means frog in english and I find that pretty cute. I would also like to see you trying to make the best out of the J 29 A, that thing is a nightmare!

The gunpod is known as ''Paddan'' in Swedish, which translates to ''The toad''. This is because the fat round shape of the pod reminded Swedish airmen of a toad, and it was very common for them to paint the pod green and paint a face on it.

fun fact: the gunpod was known as "Paddan". It sounds like "pod" in English, but in Swedish it translates to "toad". So you fly around with a little froggy gun pod with .30 cal Brownings, but unlike in real life, it wont fry the engines with exhaust gas intake

The gun pod was originally used for ground attack against infantry, where it makes more sense.... For everything in this game, not so much 😂.
That wall of lead it creates is fun to look at, which is clearly the main intended use
13,2 have more velocity than 12,7 and they also have high explosive rounds.

oKaY either I've been engaging arados wrong bc they seem to keep up with me in all turns or the mig9l I'm using is actually bad at turning.
Arados are very good at vertical turning , also the mig 9 is not a turn fighter , mig 15 turns better than it .
@Rabbi Schlomo Ben Goldbergstein the mig15 turns better than alot of things, it's known for it's one circle ability so that's kinda not a good comparison. anyhow the mig9 is a pure bnz aircraft, and one of the best in tier

The J21 is a push prop twin boom, which is decently easy to convert into a jet. Meanwhile, the Yak-3 is a traditional prop design they the Russians strapped a jet engine to it anyways.

It does train me for the guns, the grind helps me get good with the plane tbh
I'd say mainly for missiles yes. F4C and MiG-21MF/SMT should come with R3S and AIM-9Bs stock

Stop saying that 13.2´s are the same as 12.7´s! They have HE rounds, higher velocity and fire rate. If you think that this thing has the same weaponry as the P-38 play the P-38 again.

I would agree, how ever, after the war the 13.2mm were rechambered to 12.7mm because it was easier and cheaper to buy 12.7 from the US than to produce the 13.2. Now exactly when this swap was done i do not know, so if this plane uses a propper 13.2 rather than a 12.7 is unknown to me.
They switched to 12.7 when buying p51s so this is actually 12.7.

Plus the Swedes have their own 12.7/.50 cal Akan rounds/guns.

Have they fixed the rocket ramp yet? Last I tried it it acted like an air-brake, even without rockets you couldn't surpass 500km/h and barely climb. It's like they've modeled it like a solid object, making it kind of useless as a fighter in Ground RB!
I know this is super late but the reason you have trouble hitting stuff is your 600 range. The J21's run better at 400-500 range due to the location of the wing guns.
Love it and enjoy it but in my opinion for dogfighting capability; if these guns combined worked as well as the MG151 on Pyörre and wasn't ripping before reaching its max-speed and a lot of the jets it faces in uptiers had BRs that were fair for how they perform compared to this, then it would be home at 6.7. When furballs don't happen I go and take half the enemy tickets in form of light pillboxes instead. Real good at doing that, would be even better if the gunpod had a correct amount of ammo and could be used with the auxiliary gun bind.

Air target belt on swed 20mm is worse than default belt. Default belt has HE shells with 10.2g of TNT while air targets belt HE has only 6g of TNT.
Wouldn't the default belts have lower muzzle velocity then due to higher weight?

Erik Bergström explosive filler weighs less than steel. Same reason why 20mm mineshell has higher velocity
Yes they do disappoint, every time I have to fight against the pyörremyrsky in my little Japanese plane which is supposed to have the specialty of out turning everything but it outclasses me everywhere.
the wings of the Wooden 109 wonder make a huge difference and really help that turn rate for it. Swept gull wings they be good.
I agree when you say you have to know ur planes because my brother in insist that the FW-190 is a dog fighter but it a boom and zoom fighter.

Hits 700kph in a dive easy without ripping, out dogfights Ki-44's and 109E-3's... ALWAYS use it in the vertical, split S' are your friend, and pair it with a CW.21 and nothing will ever beat you!

Spit_flyer it’s actually a good bomber interceptor and can turn really good
AA or space campers are the scourge of the game these days. Generally if i am in a bomber i will tell the team to have fun ground pounding a little let me know will J out when your ready (if on the airfield and last left)
Also Swedish planes were made to work off short take off and landing spots - ie roads they did not really use the whole airfield system as they knew numbers were not on their side, and team work / planes that work well with each-other. You can really see that with their modern jets they pride them selves on the data systems allowing all the planes to communicate and work together. Very different doctrine of their fighting. It is almost all about an aggressive defense rather than a all out push the enemy.
Honestly its not that your aim is bad, its just that swedish 50 cals are absolutely awful. The belts are mostly AP, Early Tracer Rounds and Early Incendiary Ammunition, which basically rarely to never starts a fire. Your best shot is the universal belts but even then, the swedish 50 cals are just awful
for your conviniance, A for "attack" J for "jakt" (hunter/fighter) S for spaning (survailance) SK for skolflyg(trainer)
Definitely not 'hunter' but 'fighter'.
And S is rather recce not suirvaillance. The SH 37 is a 'Sea suirvaillance' though but tht the SF 37 is a photo recce..
You could even argue 'interceptor' for the 'J' role but 'fighter' is probably most correct..

Where did you read that? This is what I found on Wikipedia and it says 100 per gun "Flygplan A 21R kunde utrustas med en vapenkapsel som kallades för "Paddan". Kapseln hade åtta stycken ksp m/22 med 100 skott per kulspruta. Ammunitionen fanns i två magasin placerad mellan ögon och näsborre på vardera sida."
@@Adrielokil The lowest number I've been able to find is on Lunds flygvapenmuseum at 400 rounds per gun, where as every other source states 800 rounds per gun.

My problem with this bird isn't the handling which is fine...its that it absolutely hates speed. Its the only bird I've seen that at its rated alt it will rip itself apart before it reaches its rated speed by quite a lot. I mean GL trying to get the damn thing to its rated 850kmh without it just flying apart, in fact I don't think I've been able to hit even 770kmh without it just ripping itself to pieces.
As someone who likes to fly as a high speed BnZ/energy fighter it makes this a royal PITA.
Gayjin model the rip speed based on TAS instead of IAS so you'll rip at higher alt with lower than 600kph ias.

i actually dont think the f89d is that much op... yeah its weapons are crazy good when in a headon and when your enemy fly's away in a straight line. but as soon as they start manouvring it becomes quite challaging to get good hits with it. and people who do headons against the f89d dont have the right to complain because they are just stupid to do so. i have met a lot of (most of the time horten player) that know what they are doing and dont have that hard of a time against me.
and yeah i would say, give the d the same flight model as the b and move it up to 7.7 so 6.7 doesnt face it annymore

If I could trade 20mm for 5th 12,7mm MG I'd gladly do it. The Akan .50cals are much more consistent with fires and really critical damaging, that the diff.-veloocity 20mm feels unnecessary.
They're 13.2 mm, higher velocity and have HE rounds , much better than the m2 .50 cals .

@@drew9759 I use a layout that was default like 3+ years ago with pitch up on left control and pitch down on left shift, makes turn fights pretty easy for the fingers

Not really. It just doesn't turn
It doesn't turn that well but it does have good energy retention so if you survive the first turn you'll out energy your opponents so take them into spiral climbs.
Also it compresses a bit above 650kph .
