- The Arrma Mojave EXB Upgraded Roller is a complete BEAST! Probably the most fun I have had driving an RC in a while! The Shortcourse Truck's suspension works so well and the size - 1/7th scale is a small number...It looks more like 1/6th scale! The Best Day in RC is when nothing breaks - and today was one of those days! Special thanks to Rusty2.0 for capturing this great footage!

Daaayum! Got the full on cinematic with the slow mo, the drone footage, the closeups, the music, really well put together! I think this is your best work yet. 👍🤟💪
Thanks Razor - I've been working on my editing and setting up the shots better. I think it's one of my best too!
Couldnt agree anymore!!!
@@gucciskunkit thanks GS!

Are you feeling the Mohave EXB vibe? 🤔
I really dont like the ShortCourse tracks at all.
Please tell me some reasons to buy one!
@@BASSstarlet Although it is considered a "short course truck" it really acts like a solid axle rear "trophy truck" so capturing that look while driving is the cool part - plus, the size of this thing is amazing
So much that i had to order one 😎
Great video buddy,
The Mojove EXB is a beast, I went with almost the exact setup on mine but without those Monster Batteries 😳 I tried to drive it a bit like a SCT but couldn't help myself 🚀🚀 she Flies🛫😎👍
Love that bash spot brother and the filming/editing was spot on!
See ya round brother
Thanks 3 Sons! I just couldn't get over the suspension on this one....it acts like a solid axle rear with the squat it has...but yes, it can fly too! Thanks for stopping by!
Been watching some of the 2014 videos, that intro was nice bud! 👍🔥🔥 great build , great video !
Thanks buddy! The music helped a bit too...plus the truck practically drives its self.
I've missed ya buddy! Glad to see your back. Hope all is well. Great video
Thanks James - Glad to be back....took a couple months off.
THE BESS🔥🌄
I agree!
I have that same esc. but in my 10th scale truggy. Kool track! 👌👍
It's a beast! Thanks for watching!
This is a really fun video! I feel like you found a nice creative groove with this one. Awesome work!
Thanks Zac - it was fun filming and editing....plus I found decent copyright-free music>. Win Win
Glad to have a new video Rich! Truck looks like a lot of fun.
Thanks for watching Michael! Yeah, the Mojave is a beast!
One hell of a location!!! Looks sooo much fun!!
It's an amazing bash spot!
Good video man! Keep more like this coming! :) Love the truck and the video!
Thanks buddy! It was fun filming and editing this one
Epic video Rich! Got to be one of the best running vids I have seen of this truck👌💪🔥🔥
Thanks Ready Set! The truck is really amazing....hopefully I showed that in the video
@@TheRCNetwork Could have been a promo, it was that amazing!
Nice camera shots love the creativity thats what the Rcmaxgang is all about! Unique, creative new ways breaking down the walls of what you can really do with RC! 👏👊👍
Thanks buddy! On this truck, I was trying to capture the "scale" look of it while driving to almost make it look like a 1:1
Nice sir! Not only does that Mojave look beastly, the spot is pretty cool as well! Great job!
Thanks Tony! The Truck is awesome...and the spot...we will have to film there on our next project
@@TheRCNetwork So in :) And we gotta do a OCRC day here soon. Maybe next week?
Really enjoyed watching this. Awesome truck and great footage 🤘
Thanks Yas! It was fun making it!
That was awesome! Lots of production went into that video 👍👍
Thanks Great Lakes for noticing! Trying to up my game on the Tube here. 😃👍
@@TheRCNetwork Your stepping bit up big time 🤩
Great footage of the mojave exb in the wild. Nice bashing spot.
Thanks DRC! Yeah, my buddy found this place
You got some great cinematic shots! Nice spot to go big RC bashing!
Thanks buddy - been working on my editing skills....and the beast of a truck and bash spot helps too! Happy RCing!
Sick footage! Truck looks wicked fun 🤘🏻
Yeah, this was a fun one to shoot and edit. Not to mention an amazing truck!
Great video nice bashing 👍🏾💯
Thanks Linden!
Really good video!
Thanks buddy!
I have too many cars now! Stop putting up such temptation 😈
Nice work Rich, stay safe mate 👍🤓🇦🇺
No you don't! 😂. I hope all is well Paul
Awesome
Thanks for watching, buddy!
Always A+ Antman 🐜
Thanks buddy...where were you when I released this?
Nice series on the Mojave build and this is a top notch cinematic video. I’m planning on this being my next project and 4th RC, adding to my Kyosho Fazer, Losi DB Pro, and brushless converted 6s 3905 E-Maxx. Saving all your videos for the time I have $$. Any long term issues with this setup?
Nice! Glad to help..thanks for stopping by!
Looks like a beast!
Thanks for watching, buddy!
Do you recommend a external heat sinc and fan for this particular motor?
I like the neatness of your build.
I didn't find I needed it. Watch your temps on the first couple of runs. temps will be dependent on the terrain, pinion and voltage you run
Got me one too 6 months ago have not used it as yet, no time 😞
get it out there!
Great run and details on the build of your EXB. I do keep wondering if I should have used that same Max6 combo in my Mojave EXB instead of the Max8 with 2200kv motor.
Thanks buddy - the Max6 is pretty good....glad I went with it
nice video man by
Thanks Matt!
Amazing! Stock shocks? Oil?
All stock out of the box (except electronics of course)
@@TheRCNetwork thanks!!! I have mojave v2 rtr and I will learn to jump. Now my mojave doesn't land very well🤣
@@mattoprc Jumping this truck takes a lot of finesse. The suspension is pretty soft out of the box....I added a bit of preload - like maybe 1/4" per shock just to have it sit a bit more level.
Great video brother well put together. I just got sa traxxas Slash VXL 2WD I love it getting into the short course trucks myself now. Mojave EXB a whole other level. I love the Hobby wing set up best for the arrma EXBs.
Nice on the Slash 2wd - my first ever RC was the original Slash 4x4 over 10 years ago. What’s so great about the Mojave is the size and weight....it really mimics full size when you slow the video down.
@@TheRCNetwork yes definitely the slow motion really shows the trucks size and traction control. Yeh I have a Kraton EXB waiting for a the new LSD rear diff. Awesome car when it's running 😂. Does the Mojave have all around LSD diffs or like the Kraton a open rear diff?
@@paulrakis all three have the LSD plates
@@TheRCNetwork WOW nice that how the Kraton should of came with.
awesome~!!!
great bash video
liked & subbed~!!
Thanks buddy!
So close to hitting what looked like some dookie on the right near 2 min mark. is the mojave considered 1/6?
Yeah, likely....while driving, I noticed quite a bit...seems like either wild coyotes or owners with dogs walking through. Arrma says 1/7th....but it's pretty large....not quite 5th scale but close
@@TheRCNetwork thanks
Well played sir! Definitely have me interested in those batteries
Thanks Gabe - I honestly got tired of driving! I wanted to check the voltage when I got back...because I was waiting for the Lipo fade, and it never happened. I probably still had another 15-20 minutes left!
@@TheRCNetwork great stuff, and great content as usual Rich. Now the hunt begins... those batteries are sold out lol
One question, did those 2 lipos fit in the factory tray?
@@LittleTimmyPool They fit in perfect...with some height to spare. They'll be unstuck here soon. Stay tuned!
@@TheRCNetwork thank you Rich! Only been in RC for about a year but value your channel! Keep up the great work and be safe!
Thanks for your videos Rich, you do an awesome job and have been watching for years. Actually built my Axial Yeti XL kit off your videos lol! With that being said you’ve turned me into a Tekin fan. Just bought an Arrma Mojave EXB and wanna go Tekin in it. I’ve seen everyone running the Max6 wanna know if you went Tekin on this build what would be comparable or if so better than the Max6? Thank you
Thanks Tyler, I truly appreciate the kind words. Tekin makes great stuff....but will be a bit shy for the Mojave, IMO. Even running 6S on the RX8 with the 1700kv 4038 (truggy sized can), you'll be wanting more and be really watching the temps. Keep in mind, Tekin severely underrates their motors in regards to voltage. The 1700kv is suggested only for 5s and less, but you can easily run 6s on it. I was even told by them that the 2000kv can handle 6s....but the question is, will they warranty it?
broke 3 body posts, 1 front skid plate, 2 skid plate mounts and 1 servo horn after over 30 packs. nose dive off jumps on 4S but who wants 4S on that beauty? 🤣🤣🤣
Zero broke on mine so far...except rear body by the bumper. She's a heavy girl, but with the right power and voltage, it will kick the nose back up
@@TheRCNetwork agreed 4S with high speed gearing 26/46 doesn't fit her at all.
Did u find with this set up motor overheating
Not at all. Warm motor, that’s it
What size pinion do you have in there?
This was a 20t
Missed you Rich ! Been waiting on an RCNetwork video !!!
Thanks Johnny - more videos coming!
Which pinion you use?
It was a 20T, I believe
Is that hobbywing setup faster than the stock Mojave rtr with horizons own spectrum ESC & motor?
I didn't really build it to be faster....I wanted the right amount of torque to move this heavy truck, IMO, the Spektrum system is not the best option for the Mojave. Against HW's recommendation, the Max6 1650kv can be run (with the right gearing) on 8s if you're just looking for on pavement speed runs.....but why? It's an off road truck
@@TheRCNetwork awesome!
Thank you so much rich luv your vids mi big bro🙏🏼❤️💯👍🏼👊🏼
What kind of speed did you get with that big boy!
I'm not a speed guy....I equipment to have enough torque and can handle the jumps. I'd say about 45-50 ball park
@@TheRCNetwork ok in just trying to see, so we can set a happy medium. Thanks and love the video
Hi
What shock oil weight do u run on the Mojave
100% stock fluids
Top 👌👍
Thanks buddy!
@@TheRCNetwork France
Hey Rich!, when you going to take out your tekno eb48 2.0?
Hopefully here soon. Just need to hit a track
@@TheRCNetwork ok 👍
How are the temps with that system? I’m assuming pretty cool right?
Yes, very cool in the Max6
do you feel this setup is too heavy?
You know....initially when building it, I thought so. I even raised the ride hight a bit because of the weight - like dialed the shocks about 1/4" from box stock. But, when driving it, it was fast and nimble (for nearly 20lbs) and that was only on 6s. I think on 8s with a 15/16t pinion, it will be even better
Looks awesome! I just got the EXB with the Max8 2200kv combo on Friday. I'm sending it back and going with this Max6 setup. How do you like the 22T pinion? I saw in the comments of the last video that you ran the 16T and it was too slow, have you tried any others besides the 16T and 22T?
Yeah, the Max6 is right at home. Its of power! I started with the 16 and it might be okay on 8s, but not 6. I stabbed in the dark on the 22t just running it down my street and it felt good. Took some temps and it was barely reading
@@TheRCNetwork I only plan on running 6s in mine. I'm excited to get mine finished up. I might get a 23T pinion and give that a shot. I can't wait to see more footage of yours! 🤘🏾
@@Lopez_67 have you tried the 23t pinion?🤔
@@Rcmorty I actually ended up with a 21T pinion because the 23T was out of stock. I've been running the 21T and it absolutely shreds. I still need to swap it out for the 23T and see how it goes. I'm waiting on my fan mount before I try it. I was getting pretty high motor temps with the 21T.
@@Lopez_67 i will try the 23t and se how it goes 🙂
🏀🔥🤫
Thanks for stopping by!
I just bought this truck today and I'm putting the same motor/esc combo in mine. I heard you say that you're running a 22t pinion in yours. How's the heat on that motor with the 22t?
22t worked out great....nothing bad on heat, I'd say about 150 or so
@@TheRCNetworkI'm in FL and it's always hot here so...
I'm buying this truck next week. I'm put in the same servo u have an max6 an 2200kv motor Taurus motor rocket motor. 6s power. . I was looking at the losi Rey
But . U can't go wrong with arrma. There tough.
This is a great truck...I'd pick this over the Rock Rey
Hows the mojave im thinking same motor and esc if i buy the mojave exb
It's rock solid!
Where is this location rich
In SoCal
I got a mojave EXB and I put it all together same motor combo, had high Hope's for it. First run the dog bone to the wheel fell out and snapped the cup due to it having a design flaw when suspension went all the way down you could take the dog bone out by hand. Used got glue to fix on a 800$ roller...other then that it handles and drives amazing!
Yeah, the downfall of dog bones is that they can get popped out if the suspension is at an extreme flexed point...not sure it's a design flaw, but yes, it can happen
@@TheRCNetwork mine had to be because it popped out very easily. Had to hot glue the inside of the hub to push the dog bone in abit.
What was the music playing at the start
Some copyright free I found on SoundCloud
@@TheRCNetwork do you have a link?
why have a 8s combo and run it only on 6s, with a huge pinion to compensate for the relative 'low' kv? You already run 2x 3s 8000, with 2x 4s 5000 you have +/- the same weight, a lot less amps drawing, same speed with only a 16t and more power reserve. Just my 2cent ;-) Roughly 1S per kg is ideal in my book.
Thanks for watching - well, a couple of reasons why I'm not running 8s. 1. Hobbywing rates the 1650kv motor for 6s and below only. I started with the recommended pinion, but found it slow, which is why I up'd it to a 22t. That doesn't mean I won't run it on 8s ever...I've always been a fan of volt up, gear down. 2. I don't have two 4s packs that fit the tray without mods...I only have either race packs (that use bullets) or much larger 4s packs (bigger than 5k). 3. This was my first running of the truck - I usually start off pretty conservative and then ramp up if the truck needs it. I do have some 5k 4s packs headed here...so it's just a matter of time, my friend.
Nice, I love your running videos! I'm thinking of getting a Super truck basher, do you recommend this mojave or the baja rey 2.0?
Thanks buddy! The Baja Rey is cool, a bit more scale with the solid axle, but this is def. larger and a best overall.
Dude wtf are you slowing the film down for.. no one wants to see this.. we want to see how fast it goes round this track
Isn't that the funny part? You thought this was a track! It's not, it's all pieced together to look like that. I titled this as a "cinematic" bash session to show this truck actually working.....slowing the "film" down to see the suspension handle, the tires react and the dust kick up. There's plenty of "plain" SPEED RUN, BASHAMATIC, GOPRO MOUNTED ON HEAD videos out there. I can see which ones you prefer 😬
40 mins run time but 2hours charge time :p
Any decent charger should be able the charge those batteries even at 1C in about an hour. If you have 2 sets of batteries, you're nearly 1:1 for charging / running. I get tired after running a set for 40 minutes, TBH
