At work we have a saying: "An overly productive worker only gets rewarded with more work."
In Japan it's called "The nail that sticks out gets hammered down"
Today's record is tomorrow's quota... that is what we used to say.
Ive seen this time and again. Be careful what you volunteer for.
@@bursegsardaukarNo. You have the meaning wrong. In Japan that refers to a rebel or someone not fitting in.
@@bursegsardaukar This is contrasted with " The squeaky wheels gets the grease."
Some of the hardest most dedicated workers are those that end up sacrificing their personal lives for work and can even forget how to have fun until it's too late. Their time off is spent recovering from their work and doing endless errands or trying to pack in a weeks' worth of "fun" into a couple hours. Materialism can be prison too.
Yes that is so true. It's depressing I felt this way along time
Oh, and you believe laying around doing nothing but trying to keep yourself entertained is a better existence? At least the people that work hard are doing something that helps others, that gives their life meaning and that is why they actually enjoy it. It the people that focus on "being happy" that end up living lives in quiet desperation or end up committing suicide.
Sacrifice is what gives life meaning which leads to contentment and happiness. Not being a useless twat that is only concerned with their own entertainment.
This is exactly the reason why I won't play ball with the 4 day work week. Yes, I do need 3 days away from work, but NO, I will not work 10 hour days. Pay me what I require to live (basic necessities, plus health care, plus retirement savings, plus a modest budget for recreation) without forcing me to sacrifice my physical health, my mental health, my social life, my spiritual life and my personal autonomy.
I refuse to break myself for the benefit of anyone but myself, my family or my country in a time of war.
@@randybugger3006 Good luck
I agree with your materialistic thoughts.
Work if not obsessed about is something that builds a person in ways other pastimes can not.
It builds wanted qualities.
(Chosing a profession wisely is a must though)
He ain’t about to do nothing. Part 2 gone end just as sad for him. Reason why, he literally just signed another document without reading it again. Literally learned nothing.
Exactly. He should have at least tried to contact his lawyer.
😂😂😅
Does he find out he's charging Rick's car battery?
Classic! 🤣
😂😂😂
😂😂
Great movie, didnt end the way i expected at all. Usually i see this actor in alot of comedies but he did really good job being serious.
I would be paranoid
The simulation was real. How could I tell this is not another simulation?
In a LOT of comedies? Haven't they stopped making comedies since like 2014? When the WOKE culture kicked in.
@timberwolfmountaineer873 whatever dude. I hate that woke crap too but I'm bot letting it ruin my day
I worked at a corporation were they would actually say, "Being a good worker is not good enough."
The Mill 2023 is a brilliant satire on the horrors of corporate capitalism and the exploitation of workers. Lil Rel Howery gives a powerful performance as Joe, a loyal employee who is trapped in a nightmare of endless labor and torture. The movie is not a conventional horror film, but a dark and disturbing commentary on the dehumanization of modern society. The Mill is a must-watch for anyone who feels like a cog in the machine. 😅
To feel even more depressed? 😂
Funny and disturbing how a materialistic society makes a movie of it's own future that it's slavishly bringing into existence as if unaware.
@@Andy-bz7mlto*
Do you know why we are considered Cogs? It is not because we are a part of a greater construct known as the company, or even capitalism. It is because Cogs are cheap and easily replaceable. They also only serve one function.
@@rytramprophet843 "Replaceable", not "Replicable". People are actually part of a company, at least most. They're considered capital.
This is like working for Amazon or fedex
Lesson: Never overdo the task.
This is just a movie of that south park episode of what happens when you dont read the paper before signing
David Goggins would destroy that challenge 😂
i know a few people who would destroy it
Just said dis lol
I like how the mill room and the office room have the exact same layout.
Humans are creating their own master😂.... sounds about right....
I work at a brand new plant. Four months ago, when I started, they were asking for 30 units per hour. Two months ago, they upped it to 60. Last week, we came in and had a meeting. "The goal is one every 30 seconds. 120 per hour." Insane.
Anyone else hate the fact that they keep saying "mylord". It's MALLARD! As in a duck.
Should follow the popular ‘Lying flat’ mantra from China.
I like this. Rather than adapt immediately the MC, is a dumb ass. Yah! Go dummy man!
But I have to say, the ending was a real plot twist.
It is terrible how we work so hard to provide a civilization for ourselves. We should just chuck it all and go live in anarchy. Much better that way.
Careful what you wish for.
I had a good friend who was a multi-millionaire CEO - but a horrible human being - I saw his decline the further up the ladder he climbed and one day he admitted he enjoyed being ugly and nasty to people and stepping on their dignity (it was all he had left to make him feel good about himself or anything at all) ...I felt bad when he died, in a giant mansion he built as a monument to his ego that turned into a tower of solitude, without friends or a life, because he was hollow inside and wore wealth like it was a badge of superiority ... but when he passed, I knew the world was a slightly better place without people like him.
Damn that was your homie? 😂 i feel u tho
Really poverty is worse either
@@DamienWayne530I even wonder how they really were friends!?
My thoughts. I don't really care if someone is the King Of Earth or a sewer cleaner. I treat them the same way with kindness and understanding - but don't let anyone talk to me with disrespect - as I also volunteer with homeless people and domestic violence victims.
I grew up with money, and you'd be surprised how many rich people I have as friends that keep trying to get approval from me. I tell them when I think they're terrible but not in a preachy way. I just tell them I don't want to be like them because they'll probably go to Hell and most people won't care much - or even be happy - when they die.
There's nothing better than living your life as a good person and not becoming evil or worshipping others. I'm lucky my parents are rich and taught me a lot, but the only thing money does is provide more freedom to make choices. I choose to be better than wealthy people with low self-esteem and self worth.
@@Sheperdy Do you consider $75k a year to be in poverty?
funny enough in had once an employer that does that , makes quota’s and gives you a PEN , as a remedy for foul treatment 😑😑😑😑 ,
This is dumb.
There are no shortcuts to success, unless you are willing to put in the hard work you will never succeed.
Glad I didn't pay to see it.
I'm halfway into this and thinking the only way out is to say "I quit"
This is like an ultra-modern remake of “Office Space”
I wouldn't put this past any company, sadly this is the world we live in because we allow them to exist/live !
Not just companies, even the government has stupid corporate ideology, just look at waste when a department HAS to use up all its money by years end or have its budget cut, common sense says if they can do the job and save you money it should be a good thing, but all government corpo types see is another long term cut to make, ignoring any factors for WHY the budget came in under what they were given to spend.
The gibberish of the narration is hard to follow
*another great movie* 👍👍
Okay here is the movie. He's in a simulation, wakes up in a hour but felt like months being imprisoned. Gets out and gets a promotion no joke kinda made me laugh. You can watch 10 mins at the start and watch the last 5 mins of the movie.
Got to give them props for filming this in an old outdoors racquet ball court
If I was Joe I would contact human resources and have dem rectifee the situation lol

In 2023, AI pronunciation makes things hard to follow.
in 2032 ai following us will make things hard to pronounce
This is genius
wait he signed contract again without reading it
He was a non conventional thinker after all. 😂
The narrative is AI generated by the obvious mispronunciation of certain words.
Oh great, another outrageously contrived thinly veiled criticism of corporations. How unique.
The theme of this story reminds me of life in the west under monetary Usury systems and slavery to consumption; a pointless life.
❤😂🎉🎉😢😮😅
Conan wheel...xd
Why do you pronounce some normal words like laugh in a way that is not normal at all.
I assume you have a AI setup to read words ypu wrote. Because not a single human being speaks like that.
I honestly think it's already super lazy to not read it yourself. And even more lazy to not correct the blatant stuff.
And just think. Good enough.
Unfortunatelyi i see it as lazy just doing that as a job. .
Me lord 😂
Keep the wheels turning quite literally.
You'll eat bugs and be happy.
At my job we don't get rewarded for working better or faster at all or finishing a job early or on time if anything it negatively affects us because then we're out of work either for the day or for multiple days unfortunately sometimes they promise the bosses bonuses if they finish the job site early but then when that happens they never give the actual bonuses and the people that they appoint as Foreman for all the painters on the job site don't get paid any extra to be the boss to get paid their same hourly wage, there's no incentive to do more, it's really messed up, it almost seems like communism and on top of that we have to buy all of our own supplies the only thing we don't buy is the pain or roller skins and pumps everything else we need to supply. The union just approached me in a co-worker the other day and what their promising sounds so much more better than what is going on at my current job, I hate people more and more everyday the world sucks
Your AI voice here really struggles with some basic words mangling the story
i quit day job 6 years ago i will not come back to that.
Dang nah bit . What a story line, great job. 😎👍
In 2023 a man dies laughing at the stupid pronunciations of ai reading a story.
And replaces the turning contraption with a computer. Still in a room unable to leave until it is finished.
They did this rock pushing bit in the movie Conan lol.

You’re overthinking this dark comedy😂
The amount of words mispronounced is bothersome.
God made this place that's my BOSS!
AI narrated idiocy.
Certainly, here in Canada you might get to have whatever you want but you will pay with your life
Whats wrong with the way this audio pronounces words? Is this computer generated audio from text?
It is, these are made by lazy people who prompt into a text to speech. You can tell he didnt even spell Mallard right once since it pronounced it Malord over and over. So lazy, dont give them views.
get rid of the A.i. narrator, it's broke
Wtf is a dubuse meal?
His promotion was a smaller room? WTF

This should remind you of how humans treat animals
Humans are the smartest, dumbest primates on the planet. You build all this, create all these systems, and to what end? You are in a custom-built prison. Yeah, you may have $$$ and stuff, but that just means you have a nice prison.

Hello. I'm Devan Billings. Yesterday we met one another, and I asked you about dog walking. I did some more research on you. I find the way you see things, and feel things very interesting. I believe everything happens for a reason, I am wanting to write a book and wanted to explore myself aswell. And I was wondering if there was a way we could meet and have a talk. I would love to har your advice

Just watch your kids. They are playing on PC/Console more than 12 hours. Some years before, good AAA games took all day all night in single player mode. Now almost everybody playing online games. Is this a life? I think it is the same as depicted in this movie.
On the other hand, what if people does have an aim for life. All the well known scientist, who gathered the Nobel prize are not able to do experiments at home with own buget. Of course these people living for their interest, and make more than 8 hours a day. Sometimes without their family, but they doing what they please. In contrary of this movie at a company there is no phyisical punisment for not doing the quota. The money inflation makes the real value of a salary decrease over time, and without reaching the salary is not increased, but that is not the end of the world.
Everyone has to find a job, what he/she happily does. Animal care, or plumber, bartender, programmer, movie reviewer like "Fantastic Captain". Some people are able to do "pro bono jobs" so they do something good for the public.
