    The one thing all Noctuas got going for them is noise at low speeds, but overall only the A12x25 makes sense to be bought these days, which ofc is really good, so ig there is just some trickle down from that to some buyers that want to "save" some money and buy the F12/S12 instead. Weirdly enough tho the Sharkoon Silent Storm is decent despite being very similar to the F12, maybe its just that straightening frame that is causing issues.
    Btw. as you were looking for some input a while ago, i think a review roundup of the "gentle typhoon likes" with e.g. the A12x25, MSI Silent Gale, TT Thoughfan and XPG Vento Pro, and even the Phanteks T30, it would be a rather expensive expenditure, but ig they tend to be searched for a lot so it might direct some people your way, wouldnt mind if you pause the weekly schedule for it as well. Similar goes for Corsair or Lian Li fans as they are "reputable" brand names, despite being massively overpriced for the most part, but people buy stuff because of the brand, additional advantage to covering those is that they could be shared on their respective social media channels, like the subreddits. Maybe you could also add some "spice" to the video titles, its a bit cheap to e.g. put "Noctua NF F12 PWM - Fan Review, not worth the hype", but hey, if it draws people in and some stay for the rest, why not.
    But anyway, good work as usual.

    The F12 being the greatest (Noctua) pc case fan? Sure it didn't get confused with the newer A12, which is better than either the F12 or the S12 in every use case (without exaggeration)?

      @HardwareForGamers  Год назад +1

      the A12 isn't meant to be a case fan, it's meant to be a CPU cooler / radiator fan, but yes you're correct a lot of Noctua's fame comes from the A12x25. I was referring to more the name Noctua and the idea many people have that everything they make is the best. That's not to say the NF F12 is bad it just not the best.

      @@HardwareForGamers Thanks for the clarification. I was unde the impression the f12 is the radiator fan, with the S12 being the high airflow model, and the A essentially being a catch-all replacement. At least that's how Noctua presents it

      @@HardwareForGamers I think you got these mixed up.
      The "A" versions are for airflow, you can even see it in the fan design
      While the "F" versions are for "focused flow".
      You always see these "F" kinds of fans, with short stumpy fins, inside PSUs because the fans have to force the air through all the components in the PSU.

    Weird, if I'm seeing this correctly, how this fan makes steady gains from 6, 8, and 10 watts...but then really jumps at 12w. Wonder why that happens?

    • @HardwareForGamers
      @HardwareForGamers  2 года назад +1

      I'm assuming you're referring to the dba, which most fans have a similar jump at 12 volts.

      @@HardwareForGamers Yes, you're correct. I looked at the comparisons wrong.

      @@bluessrv1 decibel (dB) is a logarithmic scale. It actually dobles every +3dB. So, in this case, 34dB to 37dB is actually double the noise output.

    at 5:30 how did you compare noise normalized to voltage? I don't understand this, they have very different speed, it should be normalized to rpm.
    Are you saying Arctic P12 @1800rpm is quieter than Noctua F12 @1500rpm? I don't believe this, this looks rigged.

    • @HardwareForGamers
      @HardwareForGamers  Год назад

      That chart shows the noise level in dBA at each voltage. It has nothing to do with airflow.
      And yes the p12 at Max speed for my fan was 2000 RPM had a lower dBA then the nf F12 at its max RPM...
      If the blade design of the fans are different the RPM has nothing to do with dBA levels.

    Does it work well as a radiator fan ??

    • @HardwareForGamers
      @HardwareForGamers  2 года назад

      It wouldn't be bad for a radiator, but there are other fans that would be less money and do a better job. Something like the Arctic p12 or the C12 from thermalright.
