I would add: Surrender yourself with all you have to Our Lady. She is "Forma Dei", she will prepare you to receive Jesus in the best possible way. Give your heart to her and invite her in, so that she can receive Jesus in you.

Every time before I receive the Eucharist I ask the Blessed Mother to intercede for me to her Son Jesus to make me worthy of receiving Him.

If you are not in the state of grace you should not receive Holy Communion...Go to Confession first.

Some practising Catholics do not even know we are required to go to Confession at a minimum once a year even if you only commit veniel sins✝️🙏💒
Excellent topic especially for Advent! I learned so much today. This is the second time I've listened. I love reception of the Eucharist at daily Mass. My children were my biggest distraction back in the day. Today it's other people's children. 🥰🙏❤💙🙏 Thank you

Ken I find great help with Janelle's and your video. I am trying to redue advent almost like Lent. So I told God I am going to try to be a better person by the end of Advent so I can have an internal joyous Christmas. This video hit home. Yesterday I lost my peace. I had such an argument with my dad. So I felt defeated and think " Everytime I try to be a better person in God's eyes, I fail. So I was down and now I start day three of Advant with a clean slate until I can get to confession. Hope everyone in your home is feeling better.

I love the analogy of inviting a dearest friend to come and stay in a dilapidated, uninhabitable house, to illustrate what it must be like for Jesus in the Eucharist when he enters a soul in mortal sin.
It’s heartbreaking ... and, as you said, our priests rarely point this out to their congregations, many whom are ignorant of the suffering they’re causing to Jesus and the harm they’re causing to their own souls.
The sacrament of reconciliation is such a beautiful gift and it’s so sad that so many Catholics don’t take advantage of it to cleanse their souls ... so that they’ll become once more a welcoming dwelling place for the Lord!
May we make reparation for any sacrilegious communions we have ever made and those made by others, past, present and future, to heal the wounded heart of Jesus ❤

This has been a double blessing because of Catherine❤️ she’s precious!
I figure the Lord knows He allowed me to be conceived with autism and the weird pattern of emotional reaction or non-reaction that comes with it and just do the best I can with the brain I have in this fallen world. (For anyone wondering what on Earth I mean by that, briefly, my emotions fall into 3 categories and 3 alone: -100 (I am on the WARPATH and ready to flip tables in the temple,) 0, (my general default specifically trying to avoid those -100 moments,) and +100, (Heaven is on Earth right NOW! Like when I see little ones 😻) Because I tend to be in that "0" state, my preparation is intellectual. It is what it is. I figure that, if I was really "lukewarm," I wouldn't care whether I was lukewarm or not.)
So wonderful to see you can be totally yourselves even when you are not feeling well but you still chose to come on Ken! I have a bit scrupulosity lately & feel the need to confess all the time & not receive and thank you for reminded not to do this. My dad always used to say do it even when you don’t feel like it but if your sick go to bed rest . Love seeing little Catherine joining us! We are so blessed to have you both!! Thank you

I didn't receive Holy comiunio for nearly 2 months because I felt that am not worthy to receive my good Lord in to my life.. I was full of anger towards my children and that's why I was not able and worthy to receive my Jesus in to my heart cause my Lord Jesus is too Holy and precious to me a sinner..

I'm blessed to have a priest in my parish (since 2011) who speaks clearly and mentions the sacrament of reconciliation in every one of his homilies. This is also a parish that is on the list on the Reverent Catholic Mass website, the only parish in my area. He has a holy hour for men and another one for women one evening each month, which includes confession and then a talk on a topic he thinks is important. About 60-80 men or women attend every time, and this is in a small town.
BEING BROKEN SINNERS, WE COULD NEVER PROVIDE THE LOVE THAT GOD FULLY DESERVES. IT IS ONLY THROUGH GOD'S GENEROUS GRACES & OUR HEAVENLY MOTHERS INTERCESSION CAN WE EVEN COME CLOSE TO LOVING HIM TO THE FULLEST POSSIBLE. ALWAYS ASK FOR OUR MOTHER INTERCESSION IN ALL THINGS. ALWAYS RECEIVE THE LORD JESUS IN THE EUCHARIST IN THE STATE OF GRACE WITHOUT MORTAL SIN. HOWEVER, EVEN VENIEL SIN DONE TOO MANY TIMES SHOULD ALSO BE CONFESSED BEFORE RECEIVING HIM IN THE EUCHARIST. YOUR CHILDREN ARE SUCH WONDERFUL & BEAUTIFUL BLESSINGS TO YOU BOTH. God Bless :)

Yesterday at mass I was feeling a little nauseous right before communion. I asked Christ to help me feel better. I felt much better after receiving our Lord.

Thank GOD and you for your excellent Catholic/Orthodox video, Ken and Janelle ........ and little Katherine (spelling?)! Some of what stood out to me in this video is the fact that I need to be Married to my fiancee in and through the holy Sacrament of Holy Matrimony and her and I need to be fruitful and multiplying - having human children - with me being a good father and my future wife being a good mother ... otherwise my train is a completely derailed train wreck off and away from the railroad tracks of the Almighty heavenly Father's true holy objective ordaining life vocational will for me, and there is no way for me to be able to obey GOD in that resolutely disobedient way at all. I have learned this lesson the hard way through GOD's holy school of hard knocks - more than once - to put it mildly - a long time ago!

I literally just brought this to confession a few weeks ago, and he said the same thing... No, you need to continue to go to Holy Communion. 🙏 It is so hard sometimes when you only want to love our Lord, yet you feel that numbness, despite daily Mass, frequent confession, adoration + prayer. But praise God for all of the consolation He has flooded me with in other times, that I may remember and turn to reason over emotion. Thank you for this video. So timely!

I liked the story of the dilapidated rental. I'm sure I've received our Lord without good attention and preparation in my life. Going to Daily Mass, having many prayer devotions, and being spontaneously in touch with God through the day in recent years has helped in that area Greatly.
Thank you for your ministry. I thought yesterday how much you, Janelle and the chidren feel like family to me. There's many/most in my immediate family that I can't even get into conversations, especially deeper ones, about the Faith with.

The struggle to create and maintain this balance is constant! More often than not, the hourly demands of daily duties easily crowds out even thoughts of my Father who wants to give me graces for that moment.
The more I crowd Him out, the more dilapidated and cockroach-infested my sacred space becomes. Such a great analogy, Ken! Thank you for such an important video. 🙏💕

Good point about feelings and emotions having little to do with our actual spiritual state. The important thing is to remain faithful in our pursuit of Him...good days and bad ones, sick or well. It's easy to give in to our physical and emotional weakness and be tempted to just hink nothing I have in this moment is worth offering to God so I might as well not even bother. But when we unite our hearts, trials, pains, suffering to His, Jesus will take our little offerings and bless them, offer them to the Father and through Him, with Him and in Him the meager becomes abundance. 🙏🌹🙏

I have been trying to do this "make Jesus present in every moment of my life but never heard anyone touch on what I have been trying to do. Thank you so much for your videos. I needed to hear this . All of what you reflected on resonated with me. But mostly what you said about the sacrament of the moment. God took me out of my profession of 35 years so I could serve my family and especially my son who suffers from a chronic illness. I am so grateful God has allowed me this time. It's very hard some days but I do trust His plan for my family. I will be faithful and grateful for the Sacrament of The Eucharist and all i can do to prepare to receive! When confessing should stop thinking it is obligated but by putting it Jesus sufferings. He died for our sins n confessing our sins must be fully sincere n fully humble. Let any inhibitions of quilt, remorse, and unforgiving emotions must be trusted to Jesus. Asked the Holy Spirit to guide you how to confess according to God's will. And when you felt inside the calmness then you know what it meant. God was listening to you and has forgiven you...as Jesus has forgiven the blind man and said, "sin no more"....be obedient to His commandment.

Thanks for such a great reminder! I always go to Friday evening Mass at my parish. Two Fridays ago I didn’t go to Holy Communion because I was “cold”. I had a long busy week at work and was mentally exhausted! So I felt unprepared and that I should not receive our King in such a state. I lacked any zeal. I was just so fatigued. This time of year is an added struggle because I have some depression and general fatigue due to lack of sun light. I was denying my soul true “sun light” that evening simply be because of the mental battle telling me I was not worthy because I didn’t have the feelings of love at that moment.

Dear Ken and Jeanette. I am very thankful to God for directing me to you. I love to listen and pray with you everyday. As I listen to you now, I feel terrible because I do not receive the HC but the spiritual communion. The reason being, I then would have to go to the Alter get the HE then dip it in the PB of Christ then in my mouth. The celebrant unfortunately does not distribute the HE. It’s self-service.
How would you advice me in this case?
That’s tough… I would not receive that way; only from a Priest on the tongue. Think about how the saints received Jesus. Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t know of any Saint who received Jesus in their fingers. Some of the early Christians received Jesus with a deep bow and on the palm of their hand, but not with their fingers.
Oh my!! I'm so sorry you have this going on. I don't think I could do a self service Eucharist. Yet, I'm not sure if I had absolutely no other way of receiving, how long I could be without Him. You poor dear! God knows your heart and you have much suffering to offer up.
