- Catholic Advent Reflection - Why this is critical to our growth in Holiness. "An effective detachment from everything we have and are is necessary if we are to follow Jesus, if we are to open our hearts to Our Lord who is passing by and calls out to us. On the other hand, attachment to earthly things closes our doors to Christ and closes the door to love and to any possibility of understanding what is more essential in our lives. So, therefore, whichever of you does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple."

I'm not sure how I missed Thursday. I watched a very good podcast with Ken about Mary yesterday and guess I thought it was the Advent series. All are good. Now I just need to find Friday.

It's funny when you said take it away and see how you react and just before I watched your video our internet was down and I was so frustrated and anxious because I have no way of finding out things I needed to do etc without the internet and I realized how quickly I panicked which is very telling!!!! God help me to detach from such things 🙏
Well guys I will tell you my real family stories. Well when my grandpa was sepose to go to see the lord he couldn't he was achatch with everything he own. So hrs and hrs of trying to make him go in peace nothing was working. So his sister asked to boil some money and give him to drink the water. And before you know he was gone in no time. Rest in peace grandpa. That was a few years ago. So think about it. We all came here on holiday. So soon or later we must go back home. And we can't take any thing with us. Just remember that. Friends. Have a blessed day.

Year and years ago when my boys were small and we didn’t have much, I got them pajamas for Christmas and my mom had gotten them Lincoln logs! We opened are gifts and they were so excited to play with the Lincoln logs! I wish then I would have learned from them in there joy! But I was so sad I couldn’t give them more for the on I worked all year to make Christmas bigger and better! Now when I look back that Christmas was probably our most humble, most sacred most Holy Christmas of all! I learn slowly 🤔 thank you Father for Loving a sinner like me! Merry Christmas! It was never meant to be a burden, it was meant to be simple! ❤️❤️📿📿🙏🙏🎄🎄
Right on! We as Christians are so blessed to have the greatest gift of all, the pearl of great price, our savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Oh come let us adore him! May you and your family be blessed this Christmas!
As for me as a single person living at a retirement facility things don’t go well here, but I share myself and my goods when we have our potlucks. We can get so selfish and stay in our apartments here and not interact with our residents here, but some have there reasons here when they do that, but when we greet each other in the hall, we will say hi, or have a little conversation with each other. The other thing is I was assaulted yesterday and yes, I decided to forgive this person in my heart and place him at the bottom of the cross because he does have a personal problem, so I continue to pray for him. I feel sorry for these veterans, I took care of them through a Home Health agency I use to work for and it very sad, because they either are so mentally, physically and as well as spiritually deprived with the assistance they need from the government, which they were the ones who fought for our country. many helpful points. I'm sitting here alone tonight, children to arrive tomorrow. I'm fine. But the weather over the whole North American continent is very bad, as I'm sure you know. I'm thinking about all those suffering tonight. No heat, no power, alone, elderly, children who are hungry. I have to admit, I'm just praying for Jesus to come and end our suffering.

The song coat of many colors just comes to me. It is in the very sacrificial love of giving that makes Christmas special. God gave His own self openly to ppl who may never know or properly receive His precious Son .
A mothers true heart is to give her child the best that life brings through her love. Jenelles heart shines out that love.
May be if the world put down their weapons but also their power and wallets , what if we were different , kind and our children got Christmas by solely giving it away… I’m not there yet- but what if? We could each do more sacrificial loving than giving?
One day I asked Jesus for a hug. No idea why; I just wanted a hug. A short time later, I felt a little squeeze! It was Jesus answering my prayer! 🙏

I think a good litmus test to find out if some things are our 'master' is to imagine you were on vacation and got notified that your house has burned to the ground - the fire department could save nothing. How would you feel - what would you mourn the loss the most? Mine would only be my photographs. Aside from that, it would mean nothing.
