- In less than a minute, a group of individuals in Minneapolis broke into a Kia and stole it. The entire theft was captured on video by a Tesla vehicle parked beside it.

Got my Kia stolen yesterday. Police recovered it damaged 6 hours after the initial report was made. There's 3 entities to blame. Kia: for being fucking cheap on immobilizers, police: for not taking this seriously, and Me: for buying a kia and not doing any research on thefts. The least the kia boys could've done was total my car, but I'm stuck with a 2k deductible and about 6k in damages with 21k outstanding on my loan.
Edit: As of yesterday, my insurance company declared my car a total loss.
You dont blame the people that stole your car lol??? The sole reason your car was STOLEN and caused you all this grief in the first place. Start using your brain man!
Sweet. So happy for you. This sounds like the best outcome. Get a toyota. Way more reliable, and harder to steal.
I have a Kia and I'm planning to get rid of it. I really like my Kia Soul but rather sell it before it gets stolen. Kia will be loosing customers. I will not buy from them anymore since they are not doing anything about it.
It's not your fault. I have a 2015 kia. Had it since 2016. When I bought it this wasn't going on. How would we honestly know. Mine has been stolen and an attempt. Us customers r not to blame. If u bought your car over 2-3 yrs ago. What was u gone research
@MrOldeastdallas I agree. I called kia to see if they was fixing damages or anything and they said no. Just put me n the lawsuit system. Which I just saw some where the claim was denied by federal Court

These dudes just got me today man, They found it with the back window out and they broke my steering column. We need to do a better job or raising our kids

That’s what I was thinking but the alarm MAY go off if unlocked from the inside.
It's definitely to not set the alarm. (I've had multiple break ins and attempts in the last 6 months.) 🙁

If you drive a Kia and you don't at minimum have a tracking device in your car you're asking for what you get. An airtag would probably be cheaper than the hair dye used by the victim.

My 2019 kia forte got stolen this year and now I'm dealing with the insurance company and a investigation as we speak.
My 2013 Kia Sportage that I've had for 10 years as of last Month was stolen from my work last Wed, recovered on Thursday (that was supposed to have tech on it that was supposed to kill it if it was stolen without the key) and just found out today Insurance is Totaling it.
It's a Kia Soul. Nothing of worth was stolen lmao

I ended up getting the Compustar security system with the Drone app so I can see where my car is at all times. The alarm has already gone off a few times for things as simple as someone accidentally bumping into it or the ground shaking when a truck goes by. I'm very happy with it. I also have a steering wheel lock since insurance required it.

KIA's and Hyundai's have a flaw where you can rip off the steering column and plug in a USB cord. I don't think there needs to be anything on the other end of the cord (I don't think any "hacking" is involved.) I myself don't trust government and corporations and think the automakers may have done this intentionally to add to the planned crime epidemic.
Kia’s and Hyundai 2015-2020 u could easily start it with the bottom piece of a charger (iPhone,Samsung etc)
