    Peroni Red and a freshly fire oven baked pizza is a match made in heaven. I always buy the big bottles of it from my local Italian supermarket.

      @@attilio7 we have a properly authentic Italian pizzeria in Notts and they serve this, and some more craft Italian lagers - at this point I just go for a different one each time and it’s always a fantastic combo 😂

    Interesting review. I forgot peroni existed until I saw the non alcoholic version of it at the supermarket yesterday. I picked up a 6 pack of it and it's pretty smooth. I do drink regular beer as well, and although im not planning on totally quitting drinking alcohol, I am cutting back on my consumption. And the way I do that is ill have 2 or 3 normal beers with alcohol and then if I want to drink more beer, I'll switch to non alcoholic beer after that. Maybe i'll have to try it the red one, have no idea if they sell it in my area though.

      That’s a great idea for cutting back when you want a longer session but out the downsides! I’ve started to see it more frequently, even Costco have it in now, though I appreciate that is niche. But would assume that means it’s showing up in more restaurants and corner shops etc. cheers!

      @@TheCrumbyBeard yep and the samuel adams non alcoholic ipa is very good as well. It's a very good way to fool yourself to think you are consuming alcohol when you really aren't. In my younger days, I would have laughed at anyone who drank non alcoholic beer. But getting close to 40, and been drinking hard for over 20 years, I had to cut back if I wanna live a long life lol.

    Italian here, it's so funny seeing this review because here in Italy the "regular" Peroni is the red one and is like the bottom of the barrel beer, the one you found empty in the streets, drank by street workers and homeless people. Nastro Azzuro is the "premium" option.

      Haha! This is the wonders of marketing!

      Goes to show the Italian homeless have a refined palate, and more to the point it's a lot cheaper.

    I don't think I've ever had a Peroni beer... maybe at Olive Garden once. LOL

    I can't say I DISlike Peroni either. But that's because the one time I tried it, it seemed to have almost no flavour at all.

    • @TheCrumbyBeard
      @TheCrumbyBeard  5 месяцев назад

      Haha, I really think it’s one of the more flavourful mainstream options, but that is a very very low bar! What I really mean is actually has some bite, and that’s about it! 😂

    I have had peroni on many occasions and I always found it very dry

    • @TheCrumbyBeard
      @TheCrumbyBeard  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah, has very drying bitterness which is typical of the Italian Pilsner style (due to dry-hopping - though wether Peroni still do this properly I'm unsure)
