What a great marketplace find! Pleased to see it running sweetly after the running-in. Looks great pulling its wagons on those long sweeping curves. Great job Gar!
@OODuo stoked with it hey, still pinching myself that I found it just on FB! Thanks Gaz, yeah it looks great with a rake of wagons... I'll grab a few more next time I'm in the model shop for her to pull 😁
Push out loco & tender from underneath. I've one with sound, Digitrains 2cyl Southern sound. Be careful with the link arm for mechanical lubricator. Its fragile. Had to reattach with screw
@Northerner_Transport_Hub thanks buddy. I really like that loco, its actually a wainwright C Class, but it does look exactly the same as the J15, very very similar locos hey. Cheers 👌
Yes the Q1s are nice models. With their box-like appearance you couldn't call them pretty and yet they have a lot of charm - a bit like the 08 class diesel shunters. I have a much later issue (R3560) unweathered version which I picked up in mint boxed condition from Ebay for a bargain £70. Glad I don't have to pay the postage/customs duty to Aus - It's an expensive enough hobby as it is, without that. How much do you usually have to pay to for postage, etc from the UK to Aus? P.S. Be careful of the cab/tender doors when picking it up as these are quite delicate and often get knocked off. N.B. You often see models that have sat in a collection for years, but rarely if ever run described as 'New'. Really they should be described as 'Mint, near new'. In most cases it's close enough to the truth not to make much difference, but sometimes the grease on the gears has turned to gunk and needs stripping out and replacing. Not that that's a difficult job in most cases. However I once bought a model described as 'New' which had been sat in a box for years. The seller didn't have a layout so hadn't tested it, but it turned out it was a non-runner as it had sadly suffered from mazak rot in the intervening years. Fortunately they agreed a return and full refund.
Awesome find!!! LOVE the Q1, yours even came with some free oil weathering on the side... haha. Great Vid 👍
The holes in the polystyrene under the model allow you to push the model up with a finger

An excellent find. Such gems are few & far between.
@stephendavies6949 thanks Stephen, that's a great way to describe it, Yes an absolute gem! I'm very happy with it

Pull both sides of the poly wrapping and the loco pops out of the packing, easier than risking damaging the loco or tender.
@@twiggacott i actually thought exactly that when I watched that part back... why on earth did I not think of that at the time 😂🤣 silly me 🤪😆
That's a great addition to your fleet of locos, Gareth. It looks great running on your layout...cheers James 🙂👍
@DYLINGTONMODELRAILWAY thanks James. I agree, I'm really happy with it and very happy it's part of my collection now 😊
Nice review and good loco
I dropped you a subscribe
I also like your j15 going round on the other line
