    Thank for videos, but why we can get long exposure video timelaps life AF mode and later can get low shutter

      Hello Asifali, First thanks for checking out the video. You can create a time-lapse with the FX3 without using the S&Q mode it's just a lot more steps. The FX3 has an intervalometer built into the camera. To access it Select the Mode Button - Select a camera option IE Manual - Press Enter. Press the Menu Button - Select Shooting - Drive Mode - Interval Function. Everything you need to tell the camera to perform a timelapse is in there. This would allow you to do a long exposure timelapse. If you think a video showing this would be helpful I can try and add one to the queue and create one for you on the channel.

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge Mark. For your shutter have you used a slower shutter to get more motion blur, I understand that the shutter should be half of the interval shooting speed in your case as you set it to 1fps your shutter should be 0.5 that will give it more motion blur as you dragging the shutter which causes the long exposure effect

      Thanks for taking a moment to watch the video. You are 100% correct, and bring up a good point as 0.5 would follow the 180-degree shutter rule. In my testing, 1 fps did give some motion blur while 2 fps looked more natural. To be honest, the S&Q mode is a quick and dirty way to get the job done and since the bit rate is pretty high the images look pretty good, but now you have me thinking to see if there is a way to improve on this. I need to check to see if there is a way to drag the shutter a bit more.

      @@markthecre8tor no worries S&Q is definitely a good thing when you know you want a timelapse real quick even a hyperlapse if you place it on say a gimbal or tripod and walk around. That said I have read for capturing say people using a shutter of 1/3-1/5 also has produce good results. I guess it’s a trial and error thing 👊🏾

      @@creativcluster Yep, I agree. It's a feature that I think we can use when we are just sitting around with our feet up and see something worthy of a time-lapse or hyper-lapse and do not have the time to fiddle too much with the camera. I created a hyper-lapse last year totally handheld with no gimbal as a test with my A7iv and plan to try it again with the Fx3. I might add it to the channel as a short, Please don't judge me as it's okay at best. 🤣😂

      @@creativcluster I almost forgot, I also add a free motion blur effect on the footage to get more motion blur.

    And if you only want to take an image every 30 seconds? …. You need an intervallometer, right?

    • @markthecre8tor
      @markthecre8tor  Год назад

      Peter, can you share the use case? once every 30 seconds is a long time between shots. For example, a time-lapse for a sporting event can span several hours and the suggested frequency of shots is 7-9 seconds between each shot. I suspect you are shooting the night sky IE the Milky Way and if so the S&Q mode on the Sony FX3 does not offer such a long exposure so you are correct an intervalometer is required. The Sony FX3 from what I heard is a rock star with long-exposure photography. Keep me posted and if you have any further questions please reach out and if I did not have so much light pollution I would test this for you.

      @@markthecre8tor Hey Mark, if you want to make a real timelaps at night (with exposure times of 10 to 20 seconds) /// Or if you are at a venue and you want to cover the rehearsal or the construction of something. We sometimes take only one frame in an hour , but over weeks . So there are many scenarios where you need more time in-between shots.
      cheers

      @@peterlund4501 thanks for responding, that's what I figured. For something that long you definitely need an intervalometer.
