Nice one! Straight to the point, as always 👏🏼
This is super helpful, I didn't even think about S&Q working in this way, thanks for the great tips!
Thank you, I needed a quick how too and this was just the thing
Thanks for this man 🙏👍
great video, I learned a lot in such a short time. Need to rewatch this!
thanks a lot! appreciate it :)
Very interesting👏
Pretty useful! Thank you man
Glad this was helpful 😊
Thanks !
But I have a question... wether you shoot at 1fps or 25fps in SnQ mode it will take the same amount of space on your SD card right ? 140Mbs in 10bits for instance...
for me why I can't change the f number I can change only the iso why? I am using a7iv with 24-70 gm
Thanks for the S&Q info. What editing software are you using for speed up and slow down?
I use the Davinci Resolve, but you can use pretty much any of them
Marusiz what is difference Timelapse and mobile hyperlapse?
Hi Mariusz , very complimenti for your video ! One question please ,how should shutter speed be set? Thank you
Thank you! I'd say usually you'd like to go double your frame rate so if using 24 fps 1/48 or closest one to that (probably 1/50), if using 25 fps then 1/50 etc. unless you want to achieve different effects - if you want everything to be very sharp and jumpy go above that, if you want more blurry timelapse then go below. Hope that helps :)
@@MariuszGajdzik Sorry just to understand ! There is the "rec frame rate" which must be set to 25p or 50p or 100p and then there is the frame rate which goes from 1fps to 200fps. should the shutter speed be double the "rec frame rate " or the "frame rate" ? an example , if I choose the 1 fps frame rate , the shutter speed how it should be set Thank you very much.
Thanks a lot. I tried to do it on my A7S III but when I try to preview the footage on camera it's recorded as many individual clips! Not a single clip like you.. Do you know how to fix this?
Use the slide show in playback, it works on the Sony A6400
Just wanted to confirm if S&Q mode is limited only up to 1/4 shutter speed, i was trying to shoot timelapse and wanted to take at least 1 sec. Shutter speed but can't go beyond 1/4, I guess I'll have to do it manually. kindly correct me if I'm wrong. TIA
you'll have to set frame rate to 1fps and rec frame rate to 100
It's a shame that Sony software locks the S&Q mode to V60 cards only... I can't access any bitrates with my V30 SanDisk Extreme Pro cards, no matter how low, even though I can shoot most of them in regular video mode.
Thank you for sharing your experiences within this field of filmography. Sony makes legendary cameras but I still don't get why they do not offer the possibility of
Thanks for the video.
I haven't seen any video that talks about the time-lapse function that is inside the S&Q mode. In fact, when you turn the dial to S&Q, you can choose either S&Q or time-lapse. In S&Q, the maximum interval is 1sec., but if you choose time-lapse it can go all the way to 60sec.. I also can't understand why they have put it in a separate sub-mode, as it basically is the continuation of the S&Q. S&Q goes down to 1sec. and time-lapse starts at 1sec. and goes all the way down to 60sec.. Everything else is just the same.
This is what it says on the user's manual (the one nobody takes time to study and then complains!):
"Unlike quick-motion movie recording, you can set a shooting interval longer than 1 second. Interval Time: Sets the shooting interval for a time-lapse movie. (1 to 60 seconds)."
Please note that the amount of options varies a lot, depending on the resolution (4K vs 1080) and the CODEC that you previously have chosen.
Is it possible to shoot a 1FPS video with exposure set to 1 second for each frame, then have it in 24FPS? So that 24s real time is 1s of video.
I think that for that you would need to slow down the shutter speed as low as possible but it might be a bit funky...
@@DuncanDimanche-sreview You can do it manually, but you can't set the shutter that long in the usual way. It's a shame, Sony.
Tell me one thing...
You don't have a 'Interval shooting mode' on fx3, do you?
If by interval shooting mode you mean S&Q mode, then yes, you do
Does this method apply to the Sony a7c?
Just saw your comment. Yes, you can use this method as well on the Sony a7c, but I think it's limited to Full HD (1920x1080) and unfortunately it's not possible to record a timelapse in 4k via S&Q.
Can i do this on sony a7sii ?
I believe you can, you might not be able to access the best codecs and bitrates tho, not sure as I’m not an a7s2 user.
I wonder why Sony doesn't implement a timelapse feature with video creation easier to use in the camera. Panasonic has it and is very easy to create timelapse videos
Soon true 🥲
✌
I am disappointed with the a6400 S&Q. While I can use the Intervelometer method to create 4K time lapse, the a6400 S&Q only supports Full HD. Working with 4K this way is impractical for me (requiring large storage and post processing). S&Q should have supported a 4K method, based on either the 24 or 30 fps 4K capture capabilities, simply slowed to 1 fps. It still could be done, and should be. Other competing cameras about that time did come out with 4K time-lapse. See Panasonic. I don't know about Canon, but they might have it.
06:20 yes officer, right there, he's using ss 1/100 for timelapse
😂😂😂 it’s just to demonstrate, but you got me 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
some cameras can not make 4k timelapse out of S&Q mode, yes a7s3 can make it...
Sadly this only works in newer Sony cameras I believe from a7s3 onwards
@@MariuszGajdzik I tried A7R4 on S&Q Timelapse but can only shoot 1080 Timelapse, not sure this is true?
You need to do a shorter version of this video
