    For sony a7c; Go to first page's third page. First page is about photography, then choose interval shoot, shooting time, shooting interval, change number of shots, then you will have a lot of time to shoot. By the way, you may change quality of photo before you do that, because nobody wants to end up with with big files

    Hi, thank you for the video! However, I still don't understand how to upload it into videos. As I get it from your videos that it will be saved as a photo? Do I need to import them one by one into the final cut pro or is there any shortcut to that? Thanks!

    A7C intervalometer goes up to 1 minute only which is a bit stupid no? For a noon stack it would be ideal if it could go up to 5 or 10 or 15 mins

    • @DoubtMeTech
      @DoubtMeTech  2 года назад

      The camera only allows up to 30 seconds with the built in interval shooting. You need either an interverlometer or a motion control system that allows for timelapses in order to go passed 30 seconds. The interverlometer is the cheapest and easiest way

    There are still some things that were not discussed. So the shooting is saved as photos as if you are single shooting? And how you make sure camera won't turn of because of depleted battery? Should let's say external USB battery pack will be enough?

    I would by a cheap second hand Sony a7ii for this. These shutters are rated from 150k to 200k. A night of shooting can take 3k exposures

  • @TritonTv69420
    @TritonTv69420 3 года назад +3

    When I think of time-lapse i think of a video sped up over time.... It seems that people have different meanings for these things. What do you call a video that is sped up over time?

    • @DoubtMeTech
      @DoubtMeTech  3 года назад +1

      That would just be a video in fast motion. A "proper" timelapse is done with photos and has a lot more creative flexibility. Whichever works for what you need is really what matters. Once you start doing timelapses with photos you'll never go back. Smaller file sizes, more dynamic range, more color grading flexibility, and you can choose what motion you want

  • @petrub27
    @petrub27 2 года назад

    u have to remember that a timelapse is essentialy a video. so a video needs a frame rate. if your frame rate is lets say 24fps, for a 10 sec timelapse video you need at least 240 photos

  • @KevinBurton
    @KevinBurton 3 года назад +3

    Shooting manual for timelapse is always recommended but you did not address white balance. White balance is JUST as important as all other manual settings.

    • @DoubtMeTech
      @DoubtMeTech  3 года назад +2

      You're 100% right. I totally forgot to mention white balance and it is important. Although if you shoot RAW then it's not something you have to worry about.

    • @DoubtMeTech
      @DoubtMeTech  2 года назад

      If you're shooting at shutter speeds 30 seconds or less, all the newer cameras from the past few years have the interverlometer build into the camera

    You may have described a way to "hack" autofocus for self-timer. The A7SIII will not autofocus when there is a timer set, so no easy selfies. However, you're saying in timelapse mode, it does focus, so..hmm. #Annoyingthingscameramakersdo

    Does It export as video?

    • @petrub27
      @petrub27 2 года назад

      of course not; for that you use sand q function, but the slowest shutter speed is 1 sec

  • @orelbitan
    @orelbitan 3 года назад +1

    Why not use s&q?

    • @DoubtMeTech
      @DoubtMeTech  3 года назад +1

      That works also for a more simplified workflow. But to my knowledge you don't get to do long exposures. Also, it shoots in camera in 4K or 1080 resolutions, with taking photos in a higher resolution, you can also crop in to help get you the right framing. You can also simulate zooms coming from a higher resolution.

    • @petrub27
      @petrub27 2 года назад +1

      s and 1 will create a video, so less creative options in post . also, the slowest shutter speed is 1 sec, and the phots are taking very quickly in between. maybe you need a phot every 15 min, sand q can't do that

      What? It doesn’t do it in camera? I’m looking yo go fullframe from Panasonic MFT, but by G9 and old G7 have build in timelapse video, how does a $3500 camera not have this? Not trolling I’m changing systems and selling all my MFT gear, the Panasonic S5 has the same time lapses as the G9, real bummer
