Brandon thanks for this, Ive been digging and hunting bottles for almost 50 yrs now. The hunt for dumps in the bush is always the best but the search through an antique mall is always fun. Great honest information which I appreciate. Also, thanks for reinforcing the need for all of us to take this virus seriously. Hopefully we can all be out searching a few months! Be safe and well.
Good morning Brandon , I've been under quarantine for almost three weeks and I'm finally going to head into the woods today for a few hours of bottle hunting and native artifact hunting. Luckily for me I know many farmers I'm my area and I've recieved permission to hit up at least four properties, I'm glad to see you are healthy and well . Best regards as always from Lloyd.
Bottles are where you find them . Garage sales , antique stores , flea markets , etc .... Great of you to keep us all entertained . Hopefully we can all get out there again real soon. Stay safe and thx for sharing .
I recently unexpectedly found an antique Polio vaccine vial bottle with original box. Still sealed in mint condition. So difficult finding a value. I put it up on Ebay a few days ago. I guess we will see what happens.😀
Hawaii has a lot of Hutchs for such a small place. They are usually 8-10 ozs. We have a few marble stoppers. The most numerous lately are Hilo Excelsiors. I live in an area full of Waialuas and Ewas, as they are the next soda towns up & down the Oahu Railway & Land which existed here 1880s-1946. Individual plantations had their own railroads, a variety of European and American equipment. A now out-of-print book by Gerald M. Best describes these lines.
If you ever see Canadian bottles, let me know. I usually try to buy embossed bottles, especially milks for 2-5$. Eventually I will make a bit of profit on them, but it is hard selling bottles unless they are scarse or rare. Good video Brandon. TC, Sebastian
I like the concept. People operate under the assumption that antique dealers are very knowledgeable about all they have... and its nonsense. If you are very knowledgeable in a particular thing (these guys know bottles, I know ephemera & books) you can find something to make s little scratch on all the time. Also, many dealers are worried about the big ticket items. Some wont take as much time for smalls.
Hey man love what ya guys do me and my kiddos watch your videos on the rainy days when we’re not digging detecting or just out adventuring hey look up MAINE hutch bottles I guess there were only like 18 types ever made I hope to find some one day we’ll keep digging man and you and your family stay safe in these times
Hey Brandon, thanks for posting. You're right about the Clorox/Purex bottles. Can't see buying one when they're common as seashells on a beach. 5:20 I've dug one of those! That's a local Hutch for me. HH & Stay hea!thy
I collect and sell old books too. Your friend's booth had very fair prices! Galesburg is 45 minutes from me so I would have bought that one. And I hate to be this person, but the s in Illinois is silent. Much appreciate all the videos, especially now!
I hate it when they turn the bottles lavender or purple like that. The reason is that it's really hard to dig good bottles that shade. And when you do people who see a ton for sale in shops think the ones you dig aren't worth much. Brandon you ought to see the Japanese porcelain hand painted vase I dug a couple months ago 1880s. Killer.
Like the fact that your pricing not trying to gouge people..... there is a lot of people that love old bottles that can't get out and dig because of disabilities and certainly can't afford to pay big prices that you see ALOT on EBAY..... Thanx for being conservative with your pricing and thanx for sharing your knowledge freely. Keep up the great work and please stay safe from COVID19. With so many lock downs your videos are uplifting. We are thankful Gov. Kaye Ivey hasn't put Alabama on full ( SHELTER IN PLACE ) Take care , keep the videos coming , and God bless..... see ya on the next
If a Clorox bottles were worth anything, we'd be rich! I have two of them up on my shelf in garage. At the time I found them, I thought they were great. Since, I have found tons more. I was at a local flea market and scored a great local Hutch for $7. The cool thing about that Hutch was I have dug some later bottles, from 20's, of the same company. Good luck on your resell. What is your store name on Ebay? I looked for you and did not find you
I was looking through some coke bottles at a flea market and noticed an older one in with them it was a root bottle I got it for a dollar next week I set up at a flea market and sold it for five. Didn't get rich but it was kind of fun to find something and make a few dollars
Do you ever find Whitehouse apples. The pint version with the pout spout are the most valuable. We used to find them at a riverbank dump. Would sell to a man who wrote a book on Whitehouse vinegar bottles.
I know purple irradiated insualtors almost always will revert back to original color when exposed to direct sunlight or heated in an oven for awhile. I once helped conduct an experiment concerning this topic for the National insulator Association. I wonder if its the same with bottles? I would think a similar thing would happen.
Awesome video man! It’s good to show people that side of bottle hunting and buying because not everything is worth a fortune and it’ll help keep people from bringing too much home 😂 I’m from Illinois and I would love to find one of those hutch bottles digging one day! Galesburgs about an hour from me so there’s hope!
This is Definitely a fun thing to do if you cant get out to dig (like me in the winter!) LOL. Love the Illinois Hutch!! that calcium sucks over here! Thanks for sharing!
I've thought about buying a few in store . But been jus trying to find em .. but my collection is depleting lol may have to visit antique stores more often .. build hutch collection back up. Thanks for the video
Padded flat rate envelopes. Up to 70lbs. $7.50-$7.85 idk always changing shipping prices. You can stuff a box in envelope to protect the bottle and save some $ 😁
The Boy Scout book seems to have been written and published during the last years of the Moro Rebellion as US troops fought to maintain control of the islands won from Spain in the Spanish American War. Oddly enough the Moro tribesmen considered the islands they lived on theirs. (Tongue in cheek). A very interesting find from a time not taught about. Seems to be for sale between $7.50 to 63.00. Depends on publishing date but most for condition. I
Cool video, don't think I've seen any other diggers put out this kind of vid besides you. I think you did good. Never seen the lighting med and the hutch should sell for more eventually. Though you might have to leave it sit on there for awhile.
I put a couple pics of that vase and some arrow heads and some metal detecting gold jewelry finds on the visitors pictures on your Facebook page. Sonny Pate. Laters and stay safe.
Do you have any advice for cleaning a 1950s cologne or aftershave bottle of some kind? It has a glass neck and a very small hole. Its my first bottle dump I've ever found and this particular bottle has quite its own ecosystem growing in it and no way to pull the stuff out like a regular bottle.
Did the hutch sell after you cleaned it up? I would've loved seeing it all sparkly clean ☺ The BoyScout book was a great find there as were the two medicine bottles 👍😀
Adventure Archaeology if you ever go back there would you be willing to check if it’s still there? I’m in NJ and I collect NJ bottles and I would love to have that hutch

I'm always on the lookout for "Good Luck Atlas Jars". I swear some people price bottles with their eyes closed.

Some of my best bottles came from yard sales!!

THAT BANJO WAS SO COOL YOU SO SHOULD’VE GOTTEN IT!!! You’d be surprised how much string players will spend on quirky things like that.

Thanks Anne!
Thanks for keeping us entertained during this trying time
Nice store explore. I like looking at all things old.

Man, it is nice to remember what it was like to walk through a store again! Thanks for posting brother!
Haha no doubt!
I love that banjo!
Nice bottles
😎
That tennis racket banjo was very inventive. I wonder if it can actually be played, and what it sounds like.
Not sure! I imagine it cant sound too good lol!
Very helpful video! I do a lot of estate and yard sale shopping. I have flipped a few items.
It can be fun. Its a bit like gambling!
Thanks for the tutorial.
Cool! Please explain the irradiation process. And how tumbling works.

When you can't dig, nothing beats a store explore! Congrats on the local pharmacy bottle, they are awesome to collect! Take care, Brandon!😊
Thanks Cynthia!
I like the video we get to see some more of ur Surroundings..... 😇

We do find them. Just not very often.
Thank you for the vid Brandon. Be well, be safe and good health to you.
Same to you!
Cool video! We have a huge antique mall nearby.

I'm digging Peoria County if you want to dig sometime when things are better.
This is Definitely a fun thing to do if you cant get out to dig (like me in the winter!) LOL. Love the Illinois Hutch!! that calcium sucks over here! Thanks for sharing!
Ya calcium is tough to remove!
I really liked this despite how few things you found to keep or sell.
It's too bad people are so
Uneducated on old bottles. I used to get all excited when I found screwtops until I started watching your videos
There is so much to learn that I am still learning daily!
Yep, it made my year when I found a 1930s dump full of screw tops ;) my first time bottle digging.
I've thought about buying a few in store . But been jus trying to find em .. but my collection is depleting lol may have to visit antique stores more often .. build hutch collection back up. Thanks for the video
Thanks Barry!
I was needing this! There's an antique shop near me and all the bottles are basically around 5-10 bucks. I'll go and see if I can find anything.
Always worth a look!
Brandon very informative video.Thank you!😁
Thanks John!

You need to order them from post office, but they are free. And the wonder why the post office loses money! Duh, free shipping supplies.
Great information in this video. I'd like to see how the Hutch turns out. Thank you for posting! Stay healthy and safe.
Thanks Julie!
Good job, Brandon... I enjoyed that
Thanks!
I used to dig for them at a pre 1930s dump.
Nice! Haha love the pricing commentary! 😂 Def. make more of these!
Just wanted to try something new. We will see how this one does 🤣
Great info brandon
I love soda bottles
My mom has a large collection of antique 1st edition books from garage sales and such....
Love the old books!

Ty for your vids and your hardwork keep it up!
Thanks Paul!
Interesting video, Brandon. I haven't been shopping in a place like that in a long time. Thanks for sharing.
Fun for the whole family when we cant dig!
Always good info !
Thanks!
Interesting video. Keep the quality videos coming!!!
Thanks Victor!
I like this type of video
I got a book from the 1890’s I bought at a garage sale
Live old books!
Cloverdale label is real BUT doesn't belong on a seltzer bottle! Goes on an amber crown top quart. Best,Rich (& Brenda)😊😊
very cool video
Most antique stores have outlandish prices on absolute junk bottles, kind of bottles we throw back in the hole when we're done digging.
The oldest thing I’ve found in an antique store around here is a 20’s Chero-cola 😂
Haha!
Fun going shopping with you:) Pity you could'nt get me a screw top Vaseline bottle - want one so bad :)
I may have a few. If so keep an eye on my ebay store. I will list them on there.
Adventure Archaeology Hello :) I'm from South Africa :) Can't afford anything on ebay or etsy :)
Brandon, in a couple of videos you have mentioned using broken bottles to make glasses. How is this done?
Usually with a wet tile saw.
Awesome video and bottles. 👍
Thanks!
There are a couple of antique stores near my house.
Be worth looking!
@@adventurearchaeology all of there bottles are behind glass doors.
@@Itsnotsnake Haha maybe not then.
Yup ... that Pine Mountain Mineral Water bottle looks like it came from the genuine antique factory! LOL!!!
Lol
Do you think you could do a video of your personal collection.
I might start doing mini clips of it in my story section!
Found an original 18-19th century small mallet bottle, on Facebook selling in a group of old bottles she had, all for 59, gave me 10 for it 😤😤😤😤
hot air from a hair dryer softens the glue and the sticker comes off easily- pull slow. If its been on for years, probably won't work.
What would you say is a fair price for the Ball Perfect Mason Quart jars at the flea markets. I'm seeing 7 to 18 dollar range?
Did the hutch sell after you cleaned it up? I would've loved seeing it all sparkly clean ☺ The BoyScout book was a great find there as were the two medicine bottles 👍😀
Havent had time to tumble it yet! Ill try to do that soon!
@@adventurearchaeology I bet it turns it beautifully 👍
What does "irradiated bottles" mean and what process is used.
Hello how are you .. great video... please stay safe
You stay safe as well! 😎
Hay. Brandon I have antic medicen battle 1845
I collect old books too
Fun hobby for sure!
It’s too bad that the cool old bottles er find are usually missing the original lids and corks
Is this the Leeds flea market?
I wish we had good flea markets around here all of ours are way over priced
Love you video
Thanks!
good will is all so a good place to fined cheep antique bottles'
Looks like the banjo was made from an old wooden tennis racquet.
It was!

Where is this antique store?
I have a lot of bottles. Idk if there worth much or anything. I could contact you over Facebook.
"A good time to release it" you say ? Not a good choice of words given the circumstances. LOL
Lol video..... not virus...... 😎
May boti po ako ventage na mark name no deposit no return
Those bottles are almost all stained and damaged, someones selling their junkiest stuff🍾🍾🍾🍾
Oh sure, post a video while a guy's driving home from work.
