Interesting, I love the torpedo and the cod bottles. I need to backtrack and see the entire series of these videos. I know you have a poison bottle with *Not To Be Taken* on them. The other bottles I had no idea about. Thanks, great information.

I found a round medium dark green embossed glass bottle on the tidal flats at Golden Beach on the Sunshine Coast in QLD. I think it's fairly recent as it has a screw top and a black painted aluminium band at the top, but I have no idea what kind of beverage it contained. It's about a litre in capacity and on the base it has the AGM symbol as well as the letter M and number 2 and a code 10172. I'm hoping you can give me a clue as to the date and what the bottle is. I read on one website that the letter is a year, and the number is a week but frustratingly they didn't elaborate on how the letter translates to a year. Perhaps you can elaborate.
I found a bottle buried. It has “ 13 1/2 oz “ on the bottom, it’s a clear bottle with a circular flat head glass stopper. It has a neck that looks like it was once disconnected when it was made, connected at the base of the neck. This bottle is half full with the original liquid. The topper allowed the liquid inside to be preserved through time. It’s impossible to remove the stopper without breaking the bottle so it’s an unknown liquid. First believing it’s was an old perfume, I am now unsure what this bottle is. There are no other markings. It was discovered in Ipswich MA on a property of a home built in the early 1800s
The bottle sounds interesting Savanah, but I probably wouldn't be much help with American found bottles. Still, you'd be welcome to post a pic on my facebook page and I'll have a look 😊
I have just moved in to a house and found a number of bottles in the back garden. The block has been in use since the 1920's. Some are nicely shaped and embossed and not all are screw top. One in particular interests me. It is brown with 6 sides with the back side being the widest (about 45mm) the other sides are various widths. On the front narrow side it has "NOT TO BE TAKEN" embossed on it going from the top to bottom and you have to hold sideways to read. The two sides either side of this are dimpled. On the base it has the G above the M then the numbers F1132 below that and a further M below the number. The bottle is 4 inches or 10 cm high with a 3cm neck which is screw top. It is obviously not very old being a screw top but it is an intriguing shape. Any ideas as to what it might have held and/or date?

I found a few botlles back in the early 1980's that were in the ceiling of an old Police building that was on a sheep station in far western NSW. One in particular still has the original label it reads: STAG SCHNAPPS. The Produce of Australia. Bottled by Tooheys Limited Australia. (Picture of Stag) Trade Mark Registered. NETT, 1 PINT, 6 FL, OZ. (On the bottom of bottle) AGM. Nothing on the other 3 sides. I have never been able to find any info on this bottle whatsoever. Cheers Jim.

hi everyone!, i have just seen Chris talking about / showing bottles, wines, torpedoes, marbles etc, i am keen to ID maker/manufacturer, country of origin and date an oval i got off Australian ebay, please can you help? data: oval, mid deep amber, mid width blobby type applied top/finish, cork closure, not to be taken vertically down center front within a frame, four ribs to each side of this embossing, reverse of bottle has poison arched across and just below start of shoulder, base embossed with a small crown with what could be 412 or A12 just below it, former is more likely, seam stops halfway up neck, its one of those sturdy old thick glass bottles, no other markings, 8" [20cm] tall 3.25" widest [8.25cm], my - dates-to - guess being 1900/1910, if anyone know more, or can advise someone who likely does, please let me know, many thanks in advance, roy, i dont do Facebook, Chris's email would be handy! cheers again, roy
