Ive just started collecting bottles. It’s so bloody addictive!! I’m loving your finds hey!! I’m in the Margaret River Region, do you know if there’s any good places around here to go digging? And what is that device you used to find the spot? Newbie question!
Thanks for watching. It is very addictive :) im using a metal detector on this occasion, and noticed alot of trash targets therefore knowing its an old dump spot was worth a dig to investigate. This is not needed if you just go for hikes etc in old areas, keep your eye out for signs, old glass etc, mounds or undulations where old rubbish may have been buried and give it a dig. Just remember there were not a garbage collection services in the old days so rubbish generally was buried. And yes theres plenty to be found down your way, good luck.
@@Outbound thanks so much for that info, you’re a gem! What got me interested in bottles was about two weeks ago I saw an old guy in Bridgetown selling a box of 45 old bottles for $15 on Gumtree. So I took a trek out there and grabbed them off him. He told me they were buried in his backyard and when he put a fence in he found them! There’s old ink bottles, perfume bottles, opium/medicine/poison bottles. They are all fabulous. Anyway I became interested in digging myself for some!! Which is how I found your video!! I cannot stop thinking about bottles haha I loved that amber medicine one you found. That was a cool find!! I’m going to start looking this weekend. Wish me luck!!
Cant go wrong for $15. theres some great bottle digging groups on facebook. There groups like BACWA that do group bottle digs also. Good luck with the hunt, its very exciting to find / dig them yourself :)
