It is heartbreaking to see more and more wrecking yards disappear. When I was a young car enthusiast, wreckers were ubiquitous.
Growing up, junkyards like this were commonplace. You just didn’t think twice about them. Boy, is that changing. In just a few years, I guess they’ll be as rare as pay phones. Just a sad reality.
Exactly
I was born and raised in Oregon. Had a custom restoration shop in Eugene up until 2004
Hey Mark! Awesome!
I hope they find a good home for everything out there
Thank you, all. You are the keepers of auto history and so many memories. 💐
Love and blessings from Israel
💙🇮🇱🙏
Thank You tzinanechumah!
I was a gear head teenager in the mid 1970's. I loved walking through our local salvage yard. Rows and rows of 1960's and early 1970's muscle cars. Road Runners, Camaro's, Charger's, Mach 1's, GTO's, 442's, Super Bee's, Chevelle's and so many more. I remember three 1957 Chevy 2 door Belair hard tops sitting side by side in a row. Those cars were parted out and then eventually ran through the crusher. Could a, would a and should a.
Ahhh...I miss those days
That fiberglass hood may not be nice enough to ever go on a car again because of the crack but what a great piece of artwork to hang in the shed!!!
Totally! Thanks Broken Garage!
@@CountryBoyGasGarage I can't believe how well it cleaned up. Definitely good wall art.
Thank you guys for saving the stuff it means a lot to me I wish I was over there I wish I could help I'm all the way down here in Florida
Thanks for the video! I remember reading that Register-Guard article back in 2008 or so when the papers were super wide haha.
I'll have to convince my dad to go on a father-son trip. Lots of good stuff still left whether you're buying parts for a project or just decoration! Heck, even buying stuff for yard art is much better than letting it go to waste!
Yes you gotta go check it out one last time!
The end of an Era! I hate to think of all that history ending up in the crusher or shredder. I can't buy anything because I have no room to store it but I hope others will take advantage of what is there. Thanks for showing us around, Jason!
The more I watch these videos of you folks out at these salvage yards it tears me up .I live in Indianapolis Indiana and I don't have any old salvage yards around me like that. Most of the ones that have parts I could use for the car I'm doing as a memory of the love I have for my late dad and grandpa I have to travel 12 hours to go look for parts so I have to wait till I get the money saved up for a trip. Thanks for your time filming these videos.
You need to put that 59 El Camino together that would be a cool car
I love Recycling yard walks thanks Jason they are becoming few and far between now a day
Thank You for Watching!
Didn’t think I’d ever like junk yard diving. I want to save all the cars!😊
All of the older windshields on a rack caught my eye cause it's hard to find original stuff like that if they're still good...I'm seeing so many things that are in great shape and for the low budget hotrod builders, I've seen so many solid looking bodies and I can't stand the thought of the owner having to maybe crush em. Maybe a 4th of em wouldn't hurt to crush but I've seen so many that I'd love to have but I'm financially embarrassed and everything I see is just a dream lol...What you're doing is a good thing for the owner and I'm hoping it helps to bring more people in to save so many of em
Big thanks to BRUNT for sending me these boots and supporting the channel! Here's the site if you want to check them out! > bruntworkwear.com/DISCOUNT
Just I'll let you know I gave your channel a shout out and hopefully I sent some people your way
@@alexeatonexploresamerica5511 Hey Thanks Alex! I really appreciate that!
The hood was an A+ find
I'm stoked! Hey Thanks Nick!
Wish I lived closer!
Very cool looking Renault Gordini. That was the little 4-door by the aisle behind the VW at 13:54. Was my Mom's first car we had after my parent's divorced and my Dad left. Little 4-banger with an automatic. Fun little car. That one looked to be pretty complete and whole body. Be safe and stay well.
Hey Yeah Brian! I think he has a second one somewhere. Similar story with my parents when I was 7. Except my Mom drove a 70s Ford Maverick then.
The joys of owning an American car in England, the parts are over there. Pity really, I just need some welding patches for an 83 Coupe DeVille.
Yes the price is absolutely perfect! Cheaper than pull a part.
Time to contact Chad at Nobody Else’s Auto in Kansas.
I know that a lot of people over here in Germany would do everything to save that Opel GT.
You should get that one as well.
That old Lincoln was the basis for the original Barris Batmobile!
Thank you for making this video for us all to see!
I myself love walking through the ole time capsule picking yards.
Sad this one is disappearing .
Didn’t see much for second gen Camaro or chevelle stuff
Hello Jason, Nice video and thank you for letting the community know of the deals available.
Hello Tom! Thank You!
This is sad, however, great to see lots of this saved. I'd like to make a trip
Wish I lived closer !!! Good video - Thx for showing us.
Thanks for watching and the comment!
Thankyou for posting this nice ride on the fire bird hood
Hey Thanks John!
You get so close to the red Pinto and we just miss it. The seats in that Thunderbird next to the red Pinto are from a 1971 Ford Thunderbird. Someone who had a 64/66 Thunderbird put the 71 seats in it.
I almost grabbed those t-bird seats but they are gone now...
@@CountryBoyGasGarage Too bad ypu couldn't have snagged those. Another guy on RUclips was talking about Ford seats and how that generation of seats were Fords best.
Lots oh compound curves pieces to be saved for projects . Take a chop say and get um while u can.
Dang lot of great rear trunks to make car sofas ..hell they run in 3000 to 5000 bux with lil restore if in great shape
Good idea, these wrecking yards. But nobody needs these parts today. That's very sad.
So thank you for posting the video (nearly on my birthday which was yesterday) and for saving something.
Have a great day!
Thank You Lukas and Happy Birthday!
@@CountryBoyGasGarage Thank you very much!
thanks for your effort to make this video. Hope lots of parts will be saved.
Me too! Thank You!
This would be a great place to find classic bodies for 24 hours of Lemons cars.
This is one time I wish Texas wasn't so far away from Oregon. I need some doors for my 59 Chevy panel truck. There are also a lot of other things that I wouldn't mind collecting. I sure hope that most of it gets saved from the crusher.
If you can find another nearby car restorer you could both fly out to Texas and bring back everything you want in a U-Haul you split the costs renting.
@@evoman44 , I'm already in Texas, and I don't do car restoration. This truck is my daily driver. I also can't afford to fly anywhere.
That would be a great place for a slow low flying drone video.
My local Pick and Pay is going full service. That sucks. But everything is 50% off
even just sheetmetal to repair rust is worth it! Our ohio winter government salt has rusted all that metal away!
Each has their own story..It was always cool to walk a junk yard..
Wow that hold cleaned up good!
Hey Thanks!
Meant to say hood but the bots don't do their job when it counts
the supposed "76" mercedes is actually more like a 67. And yes, it IS very valuable in good condition
We just figured that out a couple days ago. A local car builder came a bought it and told us. Chuck said he musta been on the inside when he wrote it...lol!
I saw the first video you made on this Man, this is sad to see, rest in peace to all the vehicles that were in perfect condition that were chopped up cut up to fix up another car and now are no longer savable and the stuff that is no longer savable and to all the vehicles/stuff that will be getting crushed
...😞
That fiberglass hood cleaned up really nice!
Great wall hanger!
Is there any early 60s Falcons there? a 289 with a TopLoader in one of those could be my cup of Tea! That 60 Lincoln might be a diamond in the rough, but it could be a good project for somebody, I bet he has extra parts for it somewhere too!
buy the 67-68 bird fender over the fiberglass hood dolp typed too soon get em both
Lots of good stuff for Man Caves. Nice
Yes!
I was just wondering if they had any 69' through 72' grand prix parts. & you stumbled upopn a 70'. Man I wish that I was closer. Illinois is a long way to Oregon. I would buy so much, stuff I didn't even need.
Man that's alot of cool stuff. I really enjoy the video's. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Hey Thanks Don! I appreciate that! Take it easy Man! ✌🏻
Hey Jason, will you do a very last day video here? It will be sad, but interesting to see how much will actually get crushed. The end of an era...
That's what I was also thinking!
@Joe Carter I will go 1 stage further and say it’s the end of humanity - and I’m not exaggerating - these old cars bring so many people together from all over the world - the only reason they are getting crushed is because of ridiculous laws and trumped up charges etc etc - were all slaves to their bastard system now
save tne lincoln ctl at least . and get lot of hoods , doors , bumpers , all parts . cause you ll always find someone need of it for his oldie .....
Wow. That crud layer or paint or whatever it was came right of the fiberglass. Was that a decal underneath?
These salvage yards of days of old are disappearing because the older dudes are wanting to retire etc, while the younger generation has no interest in historic or value of these treasures, they'd rather have imports that are ready to go back to the melting pots after ten years....
Yepper did not keep up with the times environmental laws when I was a kid my dad used to take me this one junkyard in the Bay area the biggest one five acres of cars trucks you name it some cars three stories high.
Casey's Customs needs to get over there.
Looks like enough parts to could almost build a whole car.
Yes!
If there a 39 thru 41 Chevy coupe firewall tag I'll buy from ya ..or a 40 coupe grill
You can make a small mint off that 82 firebird hood, for all the k.i.t.t replica
Heck Yeah!
“A Fence line” I want whatever you’re smoking
You can, but it's gonna cost ya!
Any International trucks - either pickup or heavier? But not interested in a rust bucket. Also any school buses like shown at the start of the video? Ideally an International Loadstar school bus?
He had a travelall but it sold. If you get a chance you should check out my Abandoned Bus Series. Thanks!
That hood at 29:35 is for the 69 to 70 grand prix
Nice! He has so much stuff unlabeled and doesn't know what he has.
Shame it’s closing and going to be crushed. That’s a small Heaven there
...😞
Those boots look cool! Almost as good as Carharrt PAC boots! ;)
At 4 minutes you were looking at a C30 2WD and upset because you need leaf springs. I need that front suspension from the C30, to do a 2WD conversion on my Square Body. I won't need my leaf springs if you get what I mean
Dang! Where you at?
@@CountryBoyGasGarage unfortunately I forgot y'all are in Oregon and I'm in Wisconsin 😞
34:20 => incredible ! I was sure it is destroyed;)
Wish that wasn't Oregon, I'd go. TN is too far.
By any chance did you come across a set of tail lights for a 1967 Oldsmobile Delta 88 or Delmont 88?
I didn't see any...yet
ANY CHANCE THEY HAVE A 70 - 72 OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS QUARTER PANELS OR GOOD BODY SHELL'S...THANKS FOR THE CONTENT.
Not sure, give Chuck a call
Like that screaming chicken👍
Haha Thanks Howie! 👍
At those prices, Id get me a car or two, Im sure.
What's a real bummer is I could just bet someone in New York or Alabama is desperately looking for an original car part on something rare in that yard and they will either never know it's there or discover this video in January or March and find they lost their opportunity to have what they need...
I know....I'm doing my best to get the word out. 👍
@@CountryBoyGasGarage oh yes, I can see that. We so appreciate what you're doing. I don't know if there's much more you could do. We will just hope those rare pieces will get picked up. It is sad he's having to shut it down.
A Rat Rodder heaven for parts to make your dream .
I think I will make a video of gathering rat rod parts to build a car before they get crushed!

December 1st he will be closed
@@CountryBoyGasGarage Thanks!
Did you end up buying that formula hood?
Yes!

@@CountryBoyGasGarage ok understand

@@CountryBoyGasGarage Shipping will probably be far too expensive

Springfield Oregon!
what happened, the owner passed away kids don't want it!?
dep wants it all gone!?
town wants it gone!? for retail space!?
To many regulations and ready to retire
I am sure this place has at least one million parts. The seller needs to have a blowout sale, sell every item at $1.00 each. He will sell it all, and make a million.
Good idea! 👍
this seems like part of a larger mission against gas vehicles in general. environmentalism!
...ugh!
Where are you that would help
