Avish, new 2022 g15 strix has 5980hx and rx6800m with 12gb vram. Compared to 3070 to variant with 8gb and cuda, which do you think would perform best under Resolve? It seems to favor nvidia GPU but I wonder if the 4gb more vram in the 6800m would change things

Coz im between intel i9 wirh rtx 3060 6gb or the ryzen 5900hx with rtx 3070..and i dont have any back ground for ryzen.. I dont know which is best for video rendering ..is it ryzen or intel

With a ryzen, the multithread activities are flawless. Most of video editing is multicore, so a ryzen can easily handle it. But the intel models have a high overclocking and base frequencies. So the intel ones will heat to a high temperature. But from my ryzen 9 I never had issues with heating or the laptop hanging while rendering the video in 4k. I'll post a detailed video so that you can make a good choice.......

In starting rendering the first 5 min its fast after that the speed drops down to 1.4 gz amd then slow render.. so intel it makes high clock speeds but in reality after 5 mins we see heat issues which let those intel slowwww down thier process.. so then in reality u r dealing with 1.2 or 1.5 gz.. but in paper it says boost turbo to 5 gz..you got me.. But for ryzen i dont know anything .. i see all the poeple buy ryzen only for games but non said anything for video editing..and for davinci i dont does davinci works on ryzen better and fast playback and rendering or with intel 😊

Hey, Don't worry, your question is not stupid. Zephyrus g15 can surely handle davinci, my strix g15 with 3070 and 16gb ram handles it pretty good, so your pc will run it even smoother. When you plug in, the laptop gets into turbo mode and it slightly overclocks the cpu and gpu which is why the playback is smooth.

No worries. Actually if you want to professionally color grade your videos then davinci is best but if you are just starting out then the basic premier pro is also fine. The rendering time purely depends upon the pc and resolution you are rendering it at. Now you are using the Zephyrus g15 which is a top notch machine, I suggest you also check if you are using software encoding or GPU encoding in the software, also in the GPU settings turn all the cuda cores ON.

Hi, You can edit most videos at 1080p but for 4k your system will lag.
@@AvishGarg12 I don’t mind editing in 1080 and rendering at 4k,. I just wAnna be able to add fx and such without issues.. like music videos mainly.

I have lagging playback for 4k footage even on turbo mode so I have to use proxies are you doing the same for smoother playbacks?
did you ever resolve the lagging 4k playback (without proxies)? do you have the same strix g15 with 6800m?
