- I bought a long dormant, rust bucket 1990 240SX 3 years ago for one reason, it had the Japanese Market Sr20DET Engine Swap inside. After spending a ton of time firing up an engine that hadn't ran since 2006, I have sporadically upgraded the turbo, the chassis, and other parts of the car, but it hasn't moved under its own power since the iPhone 1 was released! Watch Tony Angelo and the Stay Tuned Crew thrash on this little turbocharged beastie and get it up and tearing down the streets once again!

You miss the black E36 you had? I'm the kid that owns it now, I've had some of the best memories in that car wrecked it in a wall at evergreen, blowing the head gasket twice, and learned how to drift and drive manual all in that car. Guarantee if you saw it today you wouldn't recognize it 😅

I got to be honest, I was a bit sad when you left HRG. But now you get to be a Dad, and that's awesome. And we get to see you more doing what you want, and I gotta say it's pretty cool seeing Alex give Lucky crap on HRG. And I love seeing girls and women wrenching, you with your girls and Alex over on TV.
Never thought I’d fall in love with the channel more but damn y’all are killing it! If the ka ever goes you shythrow a vq35de in it it lightweight and mods are endless. As long as you know what all interchanges you can find parts from a murano or a lot of other Nissans. I fully rebuilt my g35 with all new rings valve seal’s everything even a new fresh crank all for 200. Was in 2020

What Ka? lmao....that is an SR20DET and a Vq35de would be a huge downgrade from it...
@@inspectadrift8478 lmao I know that. He even said it I commented before I watched. And as far as a downgrade not really just a lot cheaper than an ls build or an sr20 I’ve seen sr20 builds sit for years because money. Throw a cheap vq in it and dog the hell out of it. They only run good with a tune and flashing some stuff out but literally built a motor for 200 so I count that as winning. Currently building a 2.5 duratec as a sleeper

I'm a V8 guy at heart but I owned an '89 S13 240SX hatch just like this one for a hot second in high school. I always wanted to SR20 swap it but didn't have the skills or money or a suitable place to work on it. Had to finally get rid of the car when the stock KA24 threw it's timing chain. 😢 Oh well, I'm living vicariously through you 20 years later. 😁🤘

I've owned 7 S13s over the last 20 years, love them. We don't have a problem with that cat hump in the UK... also, we got the best engine from the factory! No nasty rocker arms, just an RB with two cylinders lopped off 😉

I put a set of BC coil-overs on my 1998 Neon Expresso for autocrossing, track events and daily driving. Good coil-overs for the money. My nephew now has the car and they're still working. Like your videos.

Tony man, love the channel. Took me a bit after you left Hot Rod Garage to find you but I am real glad I did. Motor Trends' best gift I believe they have given us enthusiasts, is the exposure to many insanely talented and personable builders that ended up leaving for their own independant thing, so I owe that to them. But I will say, HRG has been a bit of a tire fire since you left. Lucky is still cool, I like Alex as well, but something about the banter and chemistry you guys had was great. Same goes with Fred and Dave from Dirt Every Day. Each have their own youtube channels of interesting and engaging stuff going on. Finnigan with his channel as well. All in all, Im STOKED that gearhead content is so strong these days and youre a big part of it. Cheers man. PS: do you keep in touch with any of the MT guys still?

That pepperoni that curls up at the edge is called "old world pepperoni". It always curls up because it is made in a different casing and by the way.....Yeah it's better in basically every way than the pepperoni that most people buy at the store

Tony! You can scotchbrite those rotors back to new you know... i do it all the time on my junkyard rotors! Cant pass up brand new rotors at a JY for $12... in fact, all my brake stuff comes from the local pick and pull, just did all 4 corners saturday, all new (still had the cross hatch showing after scotching off the rust) and all new pads for $85... its amazing how good of parts you can grab at a pick and pull
