- In this video I tell you everything you need to know about Cobblemon, after watching this video you will know all the basics and general tips for Cobblemon.
My goal for this was to make the most informative Cobblemon video possible. This ISN'T a tutorial, or guide to explain how to level up quickly, this is a generalisation of the core functions of Cobblemon.

me too, this is what pokecube tried to be, but couldnt. And its the best alternative to pixelmon

I hope they focus more on single player for this mod, the whole reason i gave up on pixelmon was because it felt too dependant on the multiplayer, maybe they could add some more structures to make exploring more fun and make you actually have to work to get some specific pokémon.
Seems like their goal is world building and making it feel inclusive so I hope they take that approach as well!
Personally I love how the devs have even confirmed that their plan for Cobblemon is to BLEND with Minecraft and not overwrite it.
Ergo in future updates, your Cobblemon WILL be able to harm minecraft mobs.
Want to battle a wither with your legendary? Do it.
Oh and able to manually ATTACK them is also great.
Just imagine adding cobblemon to a pack containing tech, magic, and exploration.
Immersive Engineering, Create, Botania, Tinkers, etc.
With compatibility mods to have some fun *Electric pokemon to charge machines for example*
I'm so excited to see where the developers go with this mod. It has SO MUCH potential! Its already really cool but adding a few quality of life changes and even more Pokémon will just make it even better! I'm so excited for battle animations too. I'm almost tempted to start an SMP with a bunch of creators just playing this modpack and creating our own gyms. I haven't checked yet but I really hope Metgross is in the roster rn. EDIT: BEING ABLE TO BATTLE THE ENDER DRAGON LUKE IT WAS A LEGENDARY WOULD BE SO COOL!

Something I’d like to see from the mod, is if they keep all the hostile mobs from Minecraft, I’d like to be able to have my Pokémon defend me from them. I think that’d go a long way towards making them feel more part of the world, but I think that’d be a thing to do much later as there is still so much basic stuff needing work. Thank you for this video, summarizes it nicely!
pokecube already has that aspect and it works like cobbelmon without the legends arceus stuff
Really hope this makes pixelmon go the way of the extinct mods, These creators seem a lot more passionate about this mod.

Personally I hope it doesn’t, rather pushing pixelmon developers to work hard. It’d be great for competition and push both mods and their developers to try and one up each other, which gives consumers more content
not really,,, even if pixelmon has questionable choices for mechanics and graphics it's still a mod made by passionate people and has been a staple of modded mc for years. it takes an elite team to keep up with 1000+ pokemon. it's not because it has become obsolete that it isn't deserved of praise, a LOT of people still play on 1.12.2 afteral you know
I hope you continue talking more about Cobblemon. It's honestly fun as hell and I used your MultiMC tip. Minecraft in general looks better with shaders, so I'm glad that I can finally use them with mods. I had no idea about MultiMC before.

Hopefully they add more legendary Pokémon and add cooler ways to obtain them like dungeon/temples
The thing i would want them to add next is trainers because it adds more to do with your pokemon and a way to level them up
The button you don't know what it does allows you to move your Pokémon around once selected.
Just a heads up don’t get too used to the shoulder mon buffs because they won’t give potion buffs in the future but they will still have buffs of some kind

I'd like to visit cities and Pokémon centre's and markets other than going around in biomes, also, maybe battle trainers and gym leaders/kahunas/Pokémon raids....

You should mention you can possibly and likely, get any Pokémon if you find someone that made a datapack for it's model.
All Pokémon are in the game, just not all have models, they use smogon data, and use the substitute model if they don't have a real model yet.

Idk, as someone who's grown up watching and playing pixelmon, it's definetly hard to just switch like that. Maybe one of these days i gotta try cobblemon

I feel like itd be kinda sick to have the healing station need a power source to be able to get charged
Me being the pokemon berd so i don't mind about the lack of pokemon move description or none effective gui in battle so i'ts completely fine for me
I remember playing Pixelmon for the first time, (This was with the new models) And loved it, but it felt weird to have pokemon models in a minecraft game, which is why I have high hopes for this.

One important thing to mention is that this mod works with the Patchouli mod and this means you can have a craftable pokepedia in the game
Correction: Cobblepedia is a separate mod that ads pokepedia and works using Patchouli mod

@@MonocleMC I think it was installed automatically when I installed cobblemon through curseforge launcher. That's why I thought that it was a part of the mod itself for some time
It does NOT stay charged indefinitely, the recharge time decreases based on how many pokemon you have in your party tho
cobblemon has alot to go before i play it again, as is its barebones gameplay wise

It's strange to see how many of the newer generations of players just can't commit move types and effects to memory, that used to be one of the core aspects of the game. Learning which move does what and what is good against something is what separated a good trainer from a bad one, and by playing the game you'd naturally learn and get better with time, clearly showing you that you've improved. Removing that and simply having the game tell you what is good and what to press removes every aspect of critical thinking from the game, I don't understand why you'd want that in an RPG.
It's like playing a roguelike and every time you're offered a new power it just tells you which one is the best one so there is no point to your choice, there is nothing to learn and no aspect of growth for the player.
I think its just a quality of life thing, and like you said yourself, "new" players want it. I see no reason to keep it hidden for no reason other than to gatekeep, might as well just include it so those of us with experience can just ignore it like the games whereas new players will get a lot of use out of it.

itd be super cool if they added some of the more wacky pokemon features (in the far future obvs, theyve barely gotten started with the full dex lol) like space time distortions, megas and ultraspace. id love to see them in cobblemons vanilla esque style !! :)
I really like cobblemon, even more than pixelmon, but it is still in develop and doesn't has as much things as pixelmon, but I hope this mod to be really big and awezome like pixelmon

How do you find legendaries without the help of the legendary encounters addon? Or is that just the only way to find them through non-cheated gameplay?

"As Cobblemon is open source" I genuinely thought all mods were open source until this made me google it. I don't understand at all why someone would EVER make a closed source mod
Edit: I know some might say monetization, but you can make money just as well through things like Patreon.
Open source also make it very difficult for Nintendo to do what they do best, so Cobblemon being open source also makes it significantly safer from a cease and desist.
@@MonocleMC One of the many benefits of open source-it can always be picked up and continued by someone else. I don't think I've seen more fleshed out apps than certain open source ones, because if there's a problem a user who happens to know what they're doing can just say "hey, I'll add it" and bam, now it has that thing.
Especially for something as complicated and expansive as Pokemon, it was definitely the right choice.

Yes, there is an update on horizon. It's called friends and farms and it seels pretty advanced, but no release date yet. Anyways, there will be 188 more pokemon, berries and healing items

@@edenbaker1 My first Pokemon game was Pokemon Diamond, I used to play it on my old Nintendo DS. I started with the cartoons and collecting Pokemon cards though, but I don't have them anymore sadly.

i'll be honest. the models, the animations, and the singleplayer mechanics ALREADY sent pixelmon off into space. but if they add a way to have our pokemon roam freely into the world??? i will kiss a dev. i adore the concept of a pokemon "zoo" but pixelmon just wont have it.

Iron leaves don't spawn naturally. You need a data pack to actually spawn Legandaries properly so I wouldn't call them complete.
