Still not a lot of the necessary mechanics that Pixelmon has, so it's hard for me to consider switching permanently. I'm really hoping for more of the mechanics that made Pixelmon weirdly fun. My favorite feature of Pixelmon is being able to create custom maps with functional NPCs with no coding necessary, set trainers, and even special NPCs like Nurse Joy, shopkeepers, and Pokémon traders.
@@arcanine_enjoyer cobblemon looks like it will take a lot longer to be updated and add all these new features because I feel like they want everything to be polished out and completed before just throwing it out there, that is part of why it takes so long for updates. I feel like once cobblemon gets a lot more features then pixelmon will be left in the dust, I'm excited because it seems like cobblemon will be a lot more fun and immersive then cobblemon feels, I also don't think changing npcs without coding will be a problem because cobblemon seems to be very friendly and easy when it comes to stuff like that.

The netherite ghouldengo is likely connected to how netherite is used in base Minecraft, Back in 1.16 netherite scrap was added, and when combined with gold the player would receive a netherite ingot which could be used to upgrade diamond gear to netherite. Since ghouldengo is evolved with gold, they probably figured a netherite version would fit perfectly. The only issue I have with this is that netherite is incredibly hard to acquire and to go and collect 256 pieces just for a new skin with no benefits seems ludicrous.
@@spectre9091 the main difference in my opinion is the fact that netherite scrap is a limited resource, and if one person gather 256 scrap for a skin, then it’ll be harder for anyone else to get the netherite to craft things with.

Just leaving this here in case someone stumbles upon it that doesn't know. As of now, you can't officially ride Pokemon in Cobblemon, but there is an additional mod you can download to add a simple form of riding based on a Pokemon's speed stat called Cobblemounts. By default, all Pokemon are ridable, but someone on the mod page actually made a whitelist for Pokemon that are realistic you could ride. It's a nice band-aid fix until there's an official form of riding. EDIT: I had a feeling I'd get this question as well, if you're crashing when you jump onto your mons, your mod is probably still out-of-date. I had to go onto the official Cobblemon Discord and someone had uploaded a version that was compatible with the current version. I do know the mod author was trying to get the update out in roughly a week, but if you keep running into this issue just be sure to try and find that version on the discord server. (I think it was in the add-ons section of the discord)
I don't know if you'll be able to help but I've been playing cobblemon through the modrinth modpack and I've added the most up to date cobblemounts mod to it but it whenever I ride a pokemon and try to jump it crashes. Do you know if there is a fix for this?

For anyone wondering Tumblestones are only found in suspicious blocks inside ruins and can be grown by placing it they take about 6 and a half minecraft days to fully grow like amathyst
In the code the Fossil Machine takes in organic material up to a total of 256, but certain material count for different values. the the Tank itself fills up visually every 1/8 of the 256 count. So as you filled it up with those berries it was adding more fluid visually every time it passed a 1/8 threshold until it was full :)
You totally can do battles. Without add ons you press R while looking at someone to bring up a trade or battle choice. A server im in has gone on to make our own gym leaders and everything

I adore that the pokemon in cobblemon actually look like they belong in Minecraft... Pixelmon was going for the same style initially and all of the models were community-made, I was pretty upset when they switched to full 3D models, it actually effected performance pretty significantly...

i love that they went the extra mile to add custom baby dino-mon models for when they're in the incubation tank! i wonder if they'll add the cloning machine for mew and mewtwo like pixelmon had... im satisfied with the attacks just being an elemental hitspark as long as the actual pokemon get physical and special attack animations
personally i think it would be perfectly fine if they had animations for the 12-15 most important and used modes for each time. for example, energy ball, thunderbolt, giga impact, thunder shock, leaf blade, solar beam, ice beam, dragon pulse, etc. just the ones you're for sure gonna end up using.
I love how you used Fossil Fighters music. in the video Orange. I love how content creators I have been watching have been using fossil Fighters music, it just brings a smile to my face = )
I was checking to see if anyone else noticed, and I’M GLAD that there are people who still recognize Fossil Fighters. Freakin’ loved that game as a kid, and still replay it on occasion.
I wholeheartedly agree. I really wished they’d have made another game after Fossil Fighters Frontier that followed the two original games’ concepts, but alas… It ended with the third game Fossil Fighters Frontier, and its “Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts” type change in gameplay. But we can ONLY HOPE that there can be another game made in the future that us fans can enjoy as much as the originals.
My big complaint with cobblemon is if you dont play on a server, there is no reason to catch pokemon other then to have pokemon. Not having even random/roaming NPC's or preferably gyms doesn't really give you a reason to level up and battle, its basically just having pokemon for the sake of habing pokemon. I wish there was even an addon mod and someone just took the pixelmon trainer and gym assets and made it so they use cobblemon pokemon instead, atleast untill they finally get into adding those features themselves.
As far as implementing riding mons, one feature i havent seen in riding mon add ons is depth strider built into water pokemon. They should definitely be faster in the water (a lot of them are just very slow in general)

The cobblemounts mod has that, sorta, feels more like theyre slower outside than faster in but there is a speed difference, plus speed is based on the stat itself so Crobat is a fantastic go to flyer again
I think they should have only added one generation at a time with finished animations, features and good models for ALL Pokémon (I love some of the models, but some seem lazy). So start with gen 1, and then keep going like in Pokémon go. Along with having a more polished game It also builds hype everytime a new gen drops.

if riding pokemon gets added in the future it will most likely only be for certain pokemon (because a lot of pokemon are either too small and/or are just shaped in such a way that you cant ride them) so i think for certain humanoid pokemon that are big like golurk and machamp they could be ridable by sitting on their shoulders or around their head obviously this wouldnt work with a lot of pokemon but it would be cool (with golurk if it can fly when you ride it the player would move onto its back)
With the Myths and Legends and Ride addons, this is already a very good replacement for Pixelmon. At the very least it doesn't turn the game into an absolute lag-fest.
Fun fact: In a cobblemon server called "Cobblemon island" your pokemon USED to help you fight until they got rid of it, probably an abusement of power (I don't recommend joining the server tho since the moderators are corrupt and ban people who did nothing :P)

I think it would make sense if legendaries were allowed to alter the world. like, if groudon attacks you, it would put huge dents into the ground where it is, kyurem would turn water near it into ice and give you the effect that powder snow gives you, kyogre would make it so that it's always raining within 70 blocks around it, etc. that would also make them actually distinctly different in a way the mainline games simply can't replicate due to how different minecraft is
i wish the battling text boxes were easier to pay attention to. when i tried to play cobblemon, i found it very distracting that the text was in the bottom right. maybe if it was all along the bottom of the screen, or above the pokemon, then it would be less confusing.
But weirdly enough every hates pixelmon as if it massacred their families. People can't get by without bashing pixelmon to put cobblemon on an undeservedly high platform. Once cobblemon adds trainers or gyms maybe it would be comparable.
The reason the different items seemed to have such drastically different values in the revival machine is because it takes stack size into account, even though you only use 1 at a time. A full stack is worth 64x the organic material value of an individual item, even if you only use a single item from that stack. It's likely a bug
As a gamer, I want it to stay so I don't have to farm as much. As a game designer, I understand the purpose of balancing and how bugs like this interfere with both the balancing and the vision of the creation. I also know I could easily make a similar mistake, and I suspect the issue is that the code checks the amount of items being used, but only consumes a single item of the stack. A rare type of bug; breaks the balance, but in a minor and kinda funny way
@@ninjadragongamer6861 Yep it's a woops that's not too serious and that is basically the bug's cause in a nutshell, so nothing difficult to fix. We can later tune the amount of organic material that fills the tank but we've been trying to maintain the sense that the fossil pokemon are valuable so having the upfront cost will lead players to treasure their fossil mons more!
I still think pixelmons does a lot of features better like the whole fossil and machine things. Also it’s harder. You can’t just craft a lot of items you need to be lucky to find them or battle hard bosses
The thing I love most about this mod are the new variants they added, like the Mushroom Miltanks, the various Tree Torterras, the Shuller Fortress (sorry if I butchered the name, Gen 2 is my weakest generation in knowledge!) and, of course, the newly added Netherite Gholdengo. It really makes the mod feel like it’s Minecraft, you know?
Unfortunately pokemons do not interact with the Complementary reimagined shader. Their shadows are not seen. I hope they change it, it would look better
smth i´d love in this mod is more options to do instead of just battle, like, i love eevees, id love have a eevee farm, just it, no battles, no training, just eevees, taking care of them, feeding and all this stuff
they should definitely at least add poffins and Pokemon refresh. imagine if you could make poffins on your own and you could craft sponges and combs to clean your Pokemon with and toys to play with them....omg...

so is pixelmon better or is cobble mon better for my bfs longrun play through, we are stuck between pixelmon and this because we dont know what will stop being updated first. pixelmon doesnt support alot of textures tho so we are using cobblemon rn.. pixelmon looks cool tho
imo I think currently pixelmon has more features and will bring you more stuff to do but cobblemon will eventually surpass it and be the better mod but I have a feeling that will take a bit, cobblemon looks like it will be a lot more fleshed out and look cleaner in the end, personally I am playing pixelmon until cobblemon gains more features, both are great mods. If this playthrough is still going then I think just continue doing cobblemon.
Once Cobblemon adds randomly generated gyms and trainers, it’ll be unbeatable

To my understanding, I'm pretty sure you also need to place them near a lava source in order for them to grow (like how water works with crops).

Cobblemon has so much potential. Nintendo definitely has its lawyers posted with sniper rifles. They'd have a hard time with cobblemon tho

This mod makes me remember the Jurassic world/park, how to train your dragon, and Pixelmon series all on Minecraft playthrough back then.

for some reason this makes me want to hypothetically teach pokemon how to use opencomputers or computercraft programs
I think it would make sense if legendaries were allowed to alter the world. like, if groudon attacks you, it would put huge dents into the ground where it is, kyurem would turn water near it into ice and give you the effect that powder snow gives you, kyogre would make it so that it's always raining within 70 blocks around it, etc. that would also make them actually distinctly different in a way the mainline games simply can't replicate due to how different minecraft is

For anyone wondering the wandering ghimighoul i think spawns after you find a cheast gimmighoul but don't catch it or beat it
actually the pokémon can already help you fight mobs. you can need to either get hit, or have a mob target you while you have the pokémon out.
I hope they add size variations like in Pixelmon. Its really fun to hunt really big or tiny mons.
there is a lot of items u can use for the restoration tank btw, check the wiki for it! theres a ton
animations, rideability, proper legendary spawn and etc., npc would be amazing

i wish the battling text boxes were easier to pay attention to. when i tried to play cobblemon, i found it very distracting that the text was in the bottom right. maybe if it was all along the bottom of the screen, or above the pokemon, then it would be less confusing.
Might try this update, but so far nothing in cobblemon has felt even close to as smooth as pixelmon.
But weirdly enough every hates pixelmon as if it massacred their families. People can't get by without bashing pixelmon to put cobblemon on an undeservedly high platform. Once cobblemon adds trainers or gyms maybe it would be comparable.

The reason the different items seemed to have such drastically different values in the revival machine is because it takes stack size into account, even though you only use 1 at a time.
A full stack is worth 64x the organic material value of an individual item, even if you only use a single item from that stack.

As a game designer, I understand the purpose of balancing and how bugs like this interfere with both the balancing and the vision of the creation.
I also know I could easily make a similar mistake, and I suspect the issue is that the code checks the amount of items being used, but only consumes a single item of the stack.
A rare type of bug; breaks the balance, but in a minor and kinda funny way
@@ninjadragongamer6861 Yep it's a woops that's not too serious and that is basically the bug's cause in a nutshell, so nothing difficult to fix. We can later tune the amount of organic material that fills the tank but we've been trying to maintain the sense that the fossil pokemon are valuable so having the upfront cost will lead players to treasure their fossil mons more!
Cobblemon is one of the best mods of all time, because you can see their love for the mod!
I still think pixelmons does a lot of features better like the whole fossil and machine things. Also it’s harder. You can’t just craft a lot of items you need to be lucky to find them or battle hard bosses

The thing I love most about this mod are the new variants they added, like the Mushroom Miltanks, the various Tree Torterras, the Shuller Fortress (sorry if I butchered the name, Gen 2 is my weakest generation in knowledge!) and, of course, the newly added Netherite Gholdengo. It really makes the mod feel like it’s Minecraft, you know?

smth i´d love in this mod is more options to do instead of just battle, like, i love eevees, id love have a eevee farm, just it, no battles, no training, just eevees, taking care of them, feeding and all this stuff
they should definitely at least add poffins and Pokemon refresh. imagine if you could make poffins on your own and you could craft sponges and combs to clean your Pokemon with and toys to play with them....omg...

In all seriousness, Tumbestone clusters don't spawn naturally. They're just how players can get more without needing to loot ruin structures. Placing one next to lava or magma causes it to grow like a crop.

so is pixelmon better or is cobble mon better for my bfs longrun play through, we are stuck between pixelmon and this because we dont know what will stop being updated first. pixelmon doesnt support alot of textures tho so we are using cobblemon rn.. pixelmon looks cool tho
imo I think currently pixelmon has more features and will bring you more stuff to do but cobblemon will eventually surpass it and be the better mod but I have a feeling that will take a bit, cobblemon looks like it will be a lot more fleshed out and look cleaner in the end, personally I am playing pixelmon until cobblemon gains more features, both are great mods. If this playthrough is still going then I think just continue doing cobblemon.
