    If you bought from the link above (Aliexpress) that is the manufacture link. You should have gotten an email for a firmware update to add individual volume controls for Carplay (voice etc). Here is the link to the update procedure video and at the end shows the new volume menu.

    Thanks, Chief. I have an aftermarket system in my car. I am thinking of getting this for my bike. Much appreciated and thank you for your service.

    NOTE: During the video when pairing your headset/BT dongle (Helmet Icon Button), if you ARE using a headset with a microphone you WILL want to click "YES" to switch to helmet microphone.

      Enjoying it a lot. No different than CarPlay in the automobile, which almost every manufacture now has and drivers utilize. I've seen videos online with this unit on Harley's and other bikes as well. Thanks for making a solution that allows the owner of a motorcycle to provide those same features on his/her bike.

      I see that there’s a C5 Pro and C5 lite. What’s the difference @maxca-online?

    • @douglasmontgomery6315
      @douglasmontgomery6315 Год назад

      @@DaeSimpson , the lite does not have the second Bluetooth transceiver to connect to a helmet or other Bluetooth device (like the box I used in my video to get the CarPlay audio into the factory Can-Am audio system. Also the main menu is a little different. I’d recommend the C5 Pro over the Lite.

    Could you please tell me if I can add more apps, like sygic travel navigation, messenger, whatsApp... ?

    • @douglasmontgomery6315
      @douglasmontgomery6315 Год назад

      It's up to the developer of each individual app if it also works on CarPlay. There is no process of "adding" an app. If you have an app on your phone and it SUPPORTS CarPlay, it will show up on the CarPLay device. Thanks for the comment.

    How do you control it? Does it work with gloves on? How do you advance music, activate a GPS, check FOBO etc. distracted driving is frowned upon by many law enforcement officers. Set up is the same as the built in system and controlled by the joystick. Thanks but no thanks. 😂

    • @armychieftechtalks
      @armychieftechtalks  Год назад

      Susie, thanks for your response. Yes it works with gloves on. You advance music just like any other CarPlay system, tap the screen. Activating GPS is typically done BEFORE you start moving. Setup is not the same on the factory system. With the factory system you can't use XM Radio, Google, Apple Maps or Waze. You are locked into the BRP Go architecture and the small amount of apps that will work.
      As you said her and on facebook, "thanks but no thanks". that's ok. It's an option and apparently not for you and you appear to work fine with the BRP system.
      Thanks again and hope to see you on the road.

    • @susierebelryder492
      @susierebelryder492 Год назад

      @@armychieftechtalks In the built in BRP system you advance music using the joystick leaving your hand on the grip. Activating GPS can be done before or during the ride while keeping your hands on the grips. Even switching to another GPS app. Apple Maps, Google maps and Waze are not offline capable. Yes we CAN use XM, Sirius XM and stream music as long as we have cell service. With this system you are locked into a system where you can be distracted very easily. While riding we only need GPS and music so no need to be playing with anything else.

      @armychieftechtalks  Год назад

      @@susierebelryder492 Google maps does support offline maps and the "we only need GPS and music" is what YOU need, not every Spyder and/or motorcycle rider in the world. Thanks again for your feedback.

      @susierebelryder492 Год назад

      @@armychieftechtalks Google maps works offline IF you set it up every time you use it. What a pain! We bought a Spyder to ride not to listen to books or play with a little computer. As mentioned, distracted driving will get noticed. It can kill too. When operating any vehicle you should be concentrating on that and not playing with gadgets.

    • @armychieftechtalks
      @armychieftechtalks  Год назад

      @@susierebelryder492 , Enjoy our conversations. No, you do not have to set up Google Maps every time you want to use it. Research that, once you download your map area, Google Mpas will use cellular if available and AUTOMATICALLY switch to offline when cellular is missing...completely seamless, so..not a pain. You bought a Spyder to ride and not do anything else...great..that's you. I'm aware that distractions can kill, just like having a water bottle on your bike and drinking, or having your phone on the handlebar on a ram mount or Quadlock..like MANY other riders (not just Spyders, but motorcycle) or even the Garmin Zumo GPS that many riders install. All of those are distractions, but the owners decided to use them. Again, mods/upgrades and installing of products is a personal choice. This video (among MANY online) is just to show an OPTION that an owner MAY want to install based on THEIR personal preference.
