We just bought a 23 Can Am did one long ride so far. Got our rain suits haven't had to use them yet. We have the RT Limited Sea to Sky model. We are in NC.

Hah !!! Baptized 😁😆🤣 Now that's funny, hope your riding friends enjoyed their "baptism". Another lesson learned, when riding through a manned kiosk parkway entry, make sure you ride through in front of John or you may have to maneuver out from under a bus, haha. Another very enjoyable video 👍👍

Hi Charles, check to make sure the gasket around the lid is not pinched or even possibly torn. I had the same issue with the trunk on my Harley and found the smallest tear in it, not enough to catch my eye but just enough to allow water to leak in during several hours of riding in a down pour. Once it was replaced, it took care of the leak and it's been nice and dry ever since.
Another good video,I remember getting caught in a rain storm from Ga to Orlando bringing my RTL from long Island Ny to Florida took it in stride and my first gear rain suit kept me dry all the way.
Of the 4000 miles on our Spyder, I think 2000 are in the rain including one tropical storm. I already have next year's meetup in my calendar. Hope to meet you two next year!

Glad we could make the meetup this year. We too rode down from PA thru the rain on the first day, but the rest of the weekend was near perfect... sunny and warm... wish we could've stayed longer. The trip to Big Meadows represents the longest trip we have ridden to date. Except for arriving late (GPS got us lost), it was a great ride. We loved the area and twisty roads. As mentioned below, we too really enjoyed meeting you both and all the others over the weekend. I hope we can do this again soon. :-)

Very nice ride. I call our pass the "Old man's pass" too. We bought ours when they were $10! Really a huge savings out west where some parks are $35 for a motorcycle. Happy to see you are not "whiny" riders afraid of rain or cold. I sometimes feel I'm baby sitting with all the complaints about weather, gas stop brand, eating, riding too far/not far enough between stops, too fast/too slow. It is harder than most people realize to plan and lead a ride. Gotta have tough skin and no feelings! Ride on!
When ever you buy a motorcycle be it 2 wheeled or 3 wheeler like the Spyder.You have to put it to heart and thought..."The weather be it rain,sleeth or worse snow.I take em ON head on.Ride on Spyder!"
Interesting, when I recently rode back from the Adirondacks I got hit by some rain (perhaps not as heavy as your’s). I was only wearing the jacket of my rain suit. However, I noticed my pants were not wet. Apparently the front and the windshield and the wings shielded the lower part of my body from the moisture. It was a nice surprise. My ride is the RT limited, 2021.
Only the phone was not dressed for rain? I would suggest a Lifeproof case. It is waterproof (the FRE model), rugged, and works just fine with the Ram mount on my BWM during my commutes (up to 80 ish MPH depending on traffic and the road I choose).
One of the viewers said his front truck will fill with water I was wondering if you had the same issues. I just bought a used Can Am Spyder and am planning some longer trips this summer and want to be prepared for the unexpected issues I may encounter. Thank you in advance.
Great video, only thing I found wrong with it is that it makes me sad that I am not there with you on some of those amazing trips. My wife and I are really enjoying our time on our rt limited, when I can get off from work. (insane amount of overtime) Rain kind of holds us back because my wife doesn't want to get wet. But rain doesn't really slow that spyder down from going where we want to go, so onward til dark, or whatever. Thanks for the videos, it gives me something to enjoy when I am not out there on mine.

@@JohnMiriamsTravelVlog We just purchased and installed the Cardo PACTALK Bold system. I haven't "field tested" it but the conversation we just had with Nancy in our living room and me in the kitchen was nice and clear LOL....more details to follow as soon as we get out for a ride later today.

Just wondering about the weight capacity. Do yall have the stock shock or did yall upgrade?
John says we have the stock shock. He also believes if you can fit on the spyder, it will take the weight.
