Hello Ralph, I'm enjoying this Spyder ride video. I have a 2020 Spyder RT Limited since last March and I love mine too. So does my wife. We ride in Council Bluffs, IA. Live This Day. Spyder Rider Kev
To start the tunes rolling along was sweet. More later busy packing, moving me and my Ryker 900 sport., 79, 80 before I move to Hawaii on the 22nd.. Yes the Ryker is going along.
Hello Kenneth, thanks for viewing. I wanted the viewer to feel like they were riding with us, hence the engine sound and wind noise. Congrats on your move to Hawaii. You should be able to get some good rides there.
That's exciting, Kenneth! Best wishes! Which island are you moving to? Hubby and I visited Hawaii back in April and had the hardest time finding a Can-Am to rent...finally found a Ryker 600 at GoGo Rentals in Honolulu...I bet you could rent it out if you wanted to make some extra money! I have an F3 but I enjoyed riding the Ryker!
I'm 62 soon to be 63 in Feb and started back riding 4yrs ago and I love it,,, I'm getting a Ridley automatic 750 and finish my riding career on it lol.
Yes, riding becomes a passion. Congratulations on your new bike, I am not familiar with the Ridley automatic. It appears to be relatively light weight and low to the ground, both good things. Ride Safe.
@grownmansbike yes sir and that's what I want,,I don't want to be holding up a heavy bike at my age,,, I'll be able to enjoy the ride and be safe doing it
I am 80 as of last July 2024 and bought a 2023 Honda Monkey. To me 70 is really not old at all. Take the walks and vitamins and ride. looking forward to some good rides and nice days. North west Arizona, Kingman. Even during the winter some days get up to 50 F so not to cold for a ride. Previous bike was a Honda ST 1100.
Great that you can ride with your brother, plus on a Spyder too! We love our 2022 RTL too, but it’s parked up waiting for spring now as we live in Alberta & with the snow & ice it’s not safe to ride. Ride safe, regards Stephen Alberta Canada.
Stephen, thanks for watching. My brother and I are blessed to have the same passion and to be able to ride together. It is cold here today in Virginia, but I suspect we will have some 60-degree days between now and spring. In the meantime, this is a good time to look at motorcycle RUclips videos and dream about springtime.
Hello, Ralph, I'm Jody, nice to meet you. Great you can ride with your brother! Sorry about your cancer diagnosis but glad you have beat it! Love this song at 1:09...certain songs remind me of certain rides...funny how music makes you think of things like that. I know I used this song in at least one video...very catchy! Maybe we can meet up with you and your brother in our travels south. We have a friend in Spotsylvania so we visit him on our way to Florida.
Hello Jody, thanks for viewing the video. I have seen and enjoyed a number of yours. If I am not subscribed, I will. I use music in videos to cut the boredom of watching me on a bike. If you are going to be traveling through the Richmond area, let me know at rmda.llc@gmail.com. Safe Riding.
@@grownmansbike Thank you, Ralph! This is my 2nd reply...first one already disappeared...sigh...YT does that sometimes. I have your e-mail and will put it in my contacts. Are you on FB or IG or Spyder Lovers? I also try to keep track of folks that way as YT is not reliable with the comments. Take care and keep riding! 💜💜🙏🏼🙏🏼🤗🤗
Mr.Davis, really enjoyed your vlog. It's a blessing that we have this option as we get older. This keeps us young! And is there anything better than riding with your brother...
My best friend is also paralyzed from the nipples down and is thinking of going the Can-Am route. Would you have any video of mounting/dismounting to inspire him?
Thanks for sharing this video about ages groups Can-Am riding 😊! I am 65 years old and I will start riding again but first I need finish working on Piaggio mp3 250ie I took it apart and trying to replace parking brake cable!😅
Thanks for viewing. The Piaggio appears to be an interesting bike with the two wheels up front and ability to lean. The Can-Am does not lean, and you have to learn how to ride it. Go luck on putting your bike back together.
Seize the day and ride! Just discovered your channel and immediately subscribed! I just started making videos this year on my channel and have now acquired an Insta360 camera. I really like your camera views and your editing. What are you using for editing and were you able to pair your Sena with the camera? (I use a Sena 30k system). Happy New Year!
Thanks for becoming a subscriber. I use the Insta360 app on my iPhone to perform the initial editing. Editing is very time-consuming, as I spent 16+ hours producing the video. Once the initial editing is complete, the video is downloaded to my iPhone and then to the online editing platform, Veed.io, for further editing (for text and merging multiple videos). Once complete, the video is transferred to RUclips for final editing, music, and posting. You did not say which Insta360 camera you purchased. I am working on the kinks of pairing the Insta360 X4 with my Sena 50C. Good luck with your camera. Ride Safe.
@@grownmansbikeI went back and saw your video about surviving cancer, you have a new subscriber from now on ,my wife is a breast cancer survivor, like you it was not her time to be called home, we are two retirees living in the Lou, I ride the F3 LTD, safe travels to you.
I too have a new 2024 Spyder RT Limited in Black. I'm 58 and hope to be riding another 20 years also. *Question.* How's the Sena 50C video with that angle? I just got a new helmet and will be moving mine from the old one to the new one in the spring.
It appears that you have looked at my Sena 50C videos. I am not happy with the Sena 50C as a camera. As you may have seen, my helmet is in the video, which I don't like. Because of the camera's location, the picture can be very unstable because it moves with the movement of your head. I have a "Watch Before You Buy" video coming out real soon. Good Luck and Ride Safely.
@@grownmansbike I have the Sena 50C with Camera also. I don't hate it. I expected it to move back and forth. The audio is pretty good for Vlogging. I just had an issue trying to get it pointing forward. I works but I like the flip chin full face modulars and the controls always get in the way of where i'd like to install it. I won't know how well it works on my new helmet until spring with regard to pointing it perfectly straight but in general I did manage to get it pretty good on the old helmet (which can be seen on a few videos on my channel). My biggest issue has been with the Spyder itself and not always connecting properly to the CarPlay software. I had an appointment with the dealer booked in the fall but had a few deaths in the family and had to cancel till spring. Hoping it will get resolved then. Aside from that, I love the Spyder and so does my wife so am looking forward to the end of snow in 4 months up here in Canada.
You can call me Ralph. The best feature of the Sena 50C is the audio, IMO. I ride alone so I don't know how well the mesh feature works. My Can-Am is a 2023. I have problems with CarPlay in car and on my previously owned Gold Wing, so I was not interested in having it on my Can-Am. I will check out your videos. I don't plan to use the 50C camera features except in intros and ending. The Insta360 camera is much better camera in my opinion, although the learning curve is steep, and editing is tedious.
I'm 79 and have been riding for 70 years. One accident. A car ran over me at 60mph two months ago and I received severe injuries and treatment at 3 trauma centers including a severe brain injury. The party that hit me has minimal insurance coverage and I am going to have to sue them to get meaningful compensation. Stay alert and be careful.
I was injured when a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction drifted across into my lane when it failed to take a curve properly. Fortunately I was in a Lexus and the safety gear worked well however I have spent the year dealing with my injuries. It happened on January 27......my birthday was January 28! You just can't beat good luck can you! The frustration of dealing with all the trauma when I did absolutely nothing wrong is enormous as is the frustration of friends and family having to assist with what I couldn't do. Although I am now back driving, my confidence is shot and I think every other car will hit me. It is going to take a long time to get over the stupidity of the young idiot that hit me. Your situation is a lot worse than mine. My thoughts are with you. Best wishes for your recovery.
Paul, I apologize for the tardiness in responding. And I am sorry to hear about your accident and subsequent injuries. My cancer is in remission but fear of it returning remains a dark cloud over me,
Try 86 years old. Back in the 1970s I was doing motorcycle books in Southern California. I have had them all, including the hottest of all, a couple of Suzuki B Kings. Valkyies? Had two of them. Got a Can Am so the wife, now 88 could come along. Now she's a bit old and I'm getting there. Sold the Can Am last year (2024) still have a Victory Octane. 525 lbs, 105 horses and it runs. It's 2 Jan. 2025. I took a fall 5 weeks ago, no not a bike, picked up my little three legged dog to get it away from an overly friendly but aggressive neighbor dog, and While I had the dog up in the air, the other dog hit against me and down I went, hard, on my left rear hip, No broken hip thank God but I do have a couple of cracks in the pelvic bone. Slow heal, and only time heals. OUCH. Walking like you know...hurts. So when I get back to normal, will I go back up on that Octane? I don't know, now that I have experienced my first broken bone, I am kind of well, apprehensive to ride again. We'll see, time is passing and I'm still healing, plus it's wintertime, though in Alabama, not bad.
@@grownmansbike 7 Jan. I sold the Cam Am because my wife had gone to live with a daughter for better 24 hour care. Then she came back to live with me. Now I wish I had kept the Can Am,. but the model I sold was almost 10 years old but very low miles and it had a feature I liked a lot. You could stand straight up on the foot pegs to stretch, dry out when wet, whatever. The newer Can Ams they screwed up, you can no longer stand up on the foot pegs as they are now forward. So, buying another Can am is out until Can am gets the pegs right again. Still healing, walking pretty good now but still tender and slow.
I am 70+ Last Aug. I changed from 2 wheels to three. Why did I make the change? I will tell you. I am at the age when I fall on my 2 Wheeler things would brake and not on the bike. Ho dear What can I do? I love riding. Well I got me a Can Am Spider RT Limited. My very first ride was 180 miles back home. HO MY GOSH I hated the CA Am. What did I do. I was in tears. Not more then 3 Months latter I LOVE My Can Am. I no longer have to watch how i park my bike just to get the lean right. I just park it. No longer have to strain trying to Back up my bike, I just do it.
I agree that the Can-Am has some advantages over a two-wheel motorcycle. My biggest concern with my Honda Gold Wing was dropping it and being unable to pick it up. You have to spend some time (e.g., a couple thousand miles) in the Can-Am's saddle to get used to how it handles.
The mount is the Brcocan Aluminum Alloy Handlebar Clamp Mount Base which is available from Amazon. The camera is attached to an Insta360 selfie stick and a Ram mount double socket arm. The apparatus is clamped to and on located on the left instrument cluster. Locating it on the left (as opposed to center) prevents it from being in my line of sight and allows me to video some of what is behind me. Hope this helps.
i am 75 and have just purchased a 2024 Sea to Sky. Too Cold to ride in Alberta right now but when it warms up I will be out there too!
