      I forgot to tell you Todd the issue I’m having I think they have to replace the whole screen. It’s a Bluetooth issue so even though it works when I talk to someone on the phone there’s like a 22nd delay, but it is nice being able to listen to my music and nice and loud on the vibe communication system.

    Very good video! Too bad it took BRP 5 months to finally fix something that should have worked from the get-go. I know stuff like that can happen, but BRP made Apple CarPlay a major selling point for the 2024 Spyder. Not all owners are as patient as you are unfortunately and that's what will hurt BRP the most. In the end, it finally works and it's a great advance for the Spyder. I will wait for the Android Auto to be available before I trade in my 2022 which, by the way, the BRP Go app works for me. Cheers Todd!

    Update on the new Sea to Sky. We just got our new Sena 50S headsets. The Apple Car Play is fully functional with no issues.
    The 5.0 Bluetooth cleared up all remaining snags.

    Mine works! OMG I’ve been waiting since I bought my bike in March, so happy! You have to connect to WiFi. Go to general and click on update. Make sure you go to your Bluetooth settings and connect your bike and your helmet, then connect the cord. I actually had to turn on my engine for some reason for it to work.

      That’s great. You will likely find that Siri is not working or at least she sounds drunk, lol. And you can’t make or receive calls, but I’m sure they will get that fixed soon now that everything else seems to be working.

      Just wanted to let you know, I received my new sena SRL Mesh 5.0 Bluetooth communication system today for my Shoei GT air 2 helmet (formerly I had the sena SRL2, with 4.1 Bluetooth and it didn’t work with my new Spyder). I’m happy to say the new SRL mesh with 5.0 Bluetooth work flawlessly. I guess you could say the only complaint I have is knowing you’re going to have to invest in a comm system with 5.0 Bluetooth or higher if you want Siri to work on your new 24 Spyder. If you don’t care if Siri works or not the lower Bluetooth devices work to control everything else just not Siri or phone calls text and emails.

      Did you happen to try Siri yet? I’m asking because I’m finding she is not working at 100% and her voice is coming through on mine in very slow motion making her sound drunk. I’m sure they’ll get that fixed but I won’t be running any other updates any time soon, lol. I can live without Siri.

    • @toddcuthbert400
      @toddcuthbert400  2 месяца назад

      I connect the bike to my home wifi to do any of the updates and find it can be a challange getting the bike to connect. Usually have to try a few times. As far as connecting with my phone, I’ve tried that a number of times and never had any luck. Once connected go into updates and if there is one it will come up and ask you if you want to download it.

    I am buying a sea to sky this week. So we will see how this goes. I have car play on my 2020 HD. It REQUIRES a Harley branded SENA for the helmet and a WHIM installed if you don't have a CVO. It took Harley a few updates to get the bugs worked out. The Harley is also slow to connect sometimes. It seems faster if I turn on my head set first and then plug in the phone. Siri does work, I can make and receive calls. Don't be surprised if they come up with the need to install another piece of comm hardware. Both Harley and Indian struggled with bugs and litigation to get it all working properly. Indian never did issues with my 2018 Indian.

      Hopefully you don’t have any of the issues us early buyer did. I do have CarPlay working now and it’s pretty fast connecting. The only issue I’m still having is with Siri not working correctly but everything else works great. I actually just found out from BRP and it does also state this on their website that your comm system needs to be Bluetooth 5.0 or greater and they also indicated their Vibe system or Sena systems are what they recommend as these are what has been tested. All my helmets use sena but they are older and are only 4.0 Bluetooth. I just ordered a new sena 5.0 Bluetooth comm system so I’m hoping when I comes in that it fixes this issue.

    I have a dumb question. Everyone is saying that you have to have a Bluetooth helmet to make CarPlay work. So after you sync the headset can you play the music over the exterior speakers?

    • @toddcuthbert400
      @toddcuthbert400  5 месяцев назад

      That is correct and yes. Once you have your iPhone plugged into the bike and your helmet paired you can play music either through your headset or the external speakers on the bike.

    • @toddcuthbert400
      @toddcuthbert400  4 месяца назад

      I’m not 100% sure I understand the question. But if I do yes my quad lock allows me to either hook it up direct to my bikes battery or plug it into a USB port on my bike, whichever way I prefer. The USB option is the easiest way to hook it up as it doesn’t require you to run any wires.

    Since the update, if I receive a phone call, I can’t accept or reject the call. When the other person hangs up, my unit will no longer play music.. only way to get it to work, is to power the bike completely off. No controls work for media at all…. Other than that, it seems to work well. (I have a 24 RTL, cardo packtalk pro, iPhone 15 max pro)

      I noticed I can’t make or take calls either, but it doesn’t affect anything and everything else works fine on mine. I still happy they got the update out. Now they just need to tweak it and get the few bugs out.

      Here is an email I received from BRP:
      Thank you for contacting BRP and for your interest in our products.
      Please note this situation may occur while listening to music/radio on the external speakers and receive a call, turn-by-turn instructions or use Siri; the audio in the helmet communication system cuts out. It does not affect the Bluetooth connection so there is indication on the touchscreen that there is an issue with the communication system. The issue occurs in the transfer of audio output from speakers to the communication system. BRP is working on correcting this issue, but for the moment the fix is a simple key-off / key-on procedure of both the vehicle and the communication system.
      If you have any additional inquiries, or require further assistance, feel free to reply to this e-mail, or contact us at 1-888-272-9222.
      Thanks again for contacting BRP, and have a great day!

    • @toddcuthbert400
      @toddcuthbert400  5 месяцев назад

      It took about 20 mins from beginning to end. My dealership recommended having it running when I did it because they said if the battery dies while it’s installing the new files it can bugger up the bike all together and I didn’t want to take the chance. Once the update is done your screen will reboot and ask you to turn the bike off and back on once it shuts down to reset everything.

    • @toddcuthbert400
      @toddcuthbert400  5 месяцев назад +3

      Yes you have to have a helmet connected to blue tooth and your iPhone connected to the USB. If you only have one of the two connected it will not work.

    • @josephtilley1096
      @josephtilley1096 3 месяца назад

      Yes, this is because CarPlay requires a microphone, and the only microphone available is from the BT headset. So CarPlay can only be enabled when the BT headset is connected.
